After a long time, I could not help but open my mouth and asked, "Hendrix, what should we do to be considered a good person in our lives?"

I smiled faintly and looked at the scenery outside the car in a daze. That's right, all we needed to do was to follow our hearts.

I pursed my lips and smiled. I looked at the bouquet on the table in the living room; they were roses.

I felt much better because of it. I looked at Fiona and asked, "Did you bring them over? How kind of you."

Fiona realized that I was talking about the roses and smiled. It was Evan who sent the flowers in the morning. Sir said that you were in a bad mood recently. He thought you would feel much better if the house was decorated with some flowers.

I smile faintly. I could not help but think it was Hendrix's fallacy.

Fiona was done making my breakfast. While I was sitting at the dining table eating my food, I swiped through my phone and saw the news on how Roberts Group dealt with Rowane's case, where she was pushed into the pool.

Because in the video, it was obvious that Eugene had pushed her. No matter what her reason was, there was no denying this fact. Considering that Eugene was an experienced employee of the company, the board of directors decided to transfer her back to Ucrebury in the end and let her continue to work as the finance director.

The end result was the best choice for everyone.

After staying in the hospital for two days, Rowane was discharged. This matter had also come to an end.

It was already the end of the year imperceptibly; it would be New Year's Eve a couple of days later.

Eugene called, but I did not answer it. I just messaged her, "Take care!"

At noon, Hendrix called, "Have you eaten?" he asked in a gentle voice.

It seemed that he had never expressed himself passionately. His attention was always on trivial matters in our lives, and it had become a habit for Hendrix to ask about my well-being.

I nodded. Lying on the sofa, I felt a little sleepy as I answered him, "Yes, I had my lunch. I'm home alone, and it's a little boring."

His laughter came through the phone, "Why don't you come and pick me up from work tonight?"

I was stunned for a moment, but I nodded and said, "Okay!"

I could imagine his expression on the other side of the phone; I could not help but laugh at the thought of it.

After a pause, he said in a low and muffled voice, "Why aren't you asking me whether I have already eaten or not?"

I was stunned and felt a little funny, so I asked, "Then, have you eaten yet?"

"Yes, I ate some sauteed vegetables. I will make some for you tonight."
