Seeing him meticulously covering Anne with a quilt and adjusting her seat to a comfortable sitting position, I felt that he must be a good man who took good care of his wife at home.

I couldn't help but ask, "Evan, do both you and your wife live in Jarold City?" I remembered that they lived in Ucrebury before that. Since the company had relocated to Jarold City, they should currently be living in Jarold City as well!

He nodded and said," Yes!"

At first, I wanted to chat with him, but I found that he was a taciturn person.

I seemed to have been sleeping well these days. We arrived a short while after I took a short nap and ate some snacks and fruits.

After we got off the plane, Evan sent us back to the villa we used to live in.

I was surprised when I saw Minnie. It has been years since I last saw her. There were more grey hairs on her head.

When she saw me, she smiled and said, "Mr. Roberts mentioned that you're coming back. You won't be comfortable if someone else were to take care of you. So, he asked me to come and take care of you for a few days."

While speaking, she reached out her hand to hold mine and said, "It's been a few years since I last saw you. Arianna, you've lost weight."

My heart was full of surprise and joy. It has been years since I last saw her, and there was an inexplicable sense of familiarity.

I introduced Anne to her. She was getting old and could barely carry Anne in her arms. So, she just held her hand and looked at her. She wanted to say something but stopped on second thought. I knew what she wanted to say, but I just smiled lightly.

Evan left after we had settled down. Minnie couldn't stop talking to me, telling me that Hendrix would come back often during those years when I was gone. He would get himself drunk for a night and head back to Jarold City to work the next day. Even if he was exhausted, he would still insist on coming.

He would often go to the graveyard. Sometimes he would stay there for the entire night. It would rain heavily at times, and he would fall gravely ill after he came back. Even so, he would still go.

I listened silently. It seemed that many events of the past would become stories when they were told in detail.

We chatted for a long time. Kelsey arrived the next day. I had not seen her for nearly a year.

She looked even more like a strong career woman. Noticing me, she smiled and said, "You've lost weight!"

With a faint smile on my face, I welcomed her into the villa, and Minnie served her a cup of tea. She looked at me and finally said after a while, "I heard that something happened to Sierra."

I was vaguely absent-minded. How long had it been since that incident? I nodded slightly and said, "How are things for you in Ucrebury?"

She smiled, "I have to thank Mr. Roberts for thinking highly of me and promoting me to be the regional manager of the company. I'm very lucky. In terms of my career, I think I'm actually doing quite well." Thinking about it, she was already over thirty. After a pause, she continued, "However, in terms of my love life, I don't think there's much for me to say."

If I wasn't mistaken, Calvin's death sentence would be carried out in early autumn that year.

After finishing the cup of tea, she continued slowly, "I went to see him. He's much thinner than before. I thought I would be happy to see him down-and-out since I used to hate him so much, but that doesn't seem to be the case."

Looking at her, I couldn't help thinking that he was, after all, the man she had once loved. No matter how much she hated him, all the hatred would eventually fade as time passed by. The only thing left was her reluctance to part with him.

Speaking of that, she paused and said, "By the way, there will be an auction held at the Ucrebury Southern House tonight. I heard that it's organized by the Milton family. Would you like to go and have a look?" I shook my head and said with a faint smile, "You know that I don't like to participate in fun events like that."

She pursed her lips and said, "We're not going there to have fun. I have a friend who is working for the Milton Group. I saw the items they are going to put for auction. There's a sandalwood box that seems very similar to the one Dalton gave you. I heard that it's the Twin Box. You need to put the two boxes together in order to open them. Didn't you ask me how to open the box before? I conducted some research, and I feel that this is just the way to open the box."

I was overly taken aback for a moment. After a short pause, I asked, "The Twin Box?"
