Chapter 864

Hendrix smiled faintly and said, "Get up and eat something. Are you going to the Moore Family to see Freya later?"

I nodded. I still felt a little sleepy so I replied, "I'll go later. I won't miss it."

He pulled me up from the bed, sat down, looked at me and said, "Then, why don't you go earlier and we'll have lunch together at noon?"

With an exhausted look plastered to my face, I nodded in reply and said, "Okay!"

Looking at me, he grinned and tilted my chin upwards. Then, he mischievously planted light kisses on my face and said endearingly with a smile, "You daydreaming little thing."

With my eyes now wide open, I shooed him away, saying, "Go to work!"

Fortunately, Anne had people sending her to school every day. Otherwise, there was no way I would be able to get up that early in the morning.

I thought he would leave immediately after he went out, but a few minutes later, he came back in.

He picked me up and said, "Let's go out together.

I'll send you to the Moore Family along the way."

Confused, I asked, "The Moore Family and the company aren't in the same direction."

"That's not a problem!" As he spoke, he ran the hot water in the shower and passed the mouthwash to me, indicating for me to rinse my mouth.

We looked more like a father taking care of his young daughter who had yet matured into adulthood.

After having our breakfast, we got in the car.

I hadn't gotten enough sleep from the previous night, so I leaned against the car window as I shut my eyes to take a nap.

At the traffic light, Hendrix stretched his hand out and pulled my shoulders back to my seat so that my head was resting against the headrest, "It's cold!"

I looked at him with my head tilted and asked sleepily, "Where are we going?"

He smiled and said, "Just sleep for now. Well be there when you wake up."

I nodded and closed my eyes.

At the Moore Family.

There were many cars parked in the parking lot. I was already awake when Hendrix shifted in his seat to wake me up and I was staring at the fleet of cars in a daze.

It wasn't the baby shower that day, so why were there so many people present? Would Freya be too busy to entertain my visit?

Apparently I had overthought things. Some things had come up in Hendrix's office that required his attention, so he dropped me off outside the front gate and left. Just before I entered, Valerie spotted me.

She jogged over with a smile on her face, "Yesterday, Freya said that you would probably be here these days. I didn't expect you to be here today. Quick, come on in!"

There were quite a number of people sitting in the hall. When they saw Valerie bringing me in, someone came forward to say hello. Some of them seemed to be curious about my identity.

Valerie introduced them one- by- one. I had not come to socialize, so when an opening appeared, I slipped off into Freya's room to take a look at her.

The Moore's house was huge, and the room where Freya was recuperating in was spacious, quiet and peaceful. Other than the two nannies, there was no one else there.

Freya was lying in bed. She had just finished breastfeeding the baby, who had fallen asleep. Propped up on the bed, she hummed in a daze.

Hearing my movements, she lifted her head and saw me. She was so excited that she wanted to get off the bed, only to be pulled back by the nanny.

"Miss Moore, you can't get out of bed just yet. You have to rest for a few days."

She looked at me innocently and whined, "Arianna, look at how pitiful I am."

With a faint smile, I walked to the bed and sat down. My eyes landed on the child who had just fallen asleep. He was a newborn, and his face was still a little wrinkly.

Freya muttered a few words to herself, "Stop looking at him, he's so ugly. It's all Zachary's fault. He hasn't inherited any of my beauty at all."

Although she was muttering to herself, she was looking at the child with a loving expression.

I smiled faintly and felt a little envious. I couldn't help but say, "Newborns are all like this. He'll be fine in a few days."
