I opened my mouth to say something but took my words back at the last minute. Instead, I simply said, "Take care of yourself."

It was late.

By the time Hendrix returned home, it was already midnight. I was half asleep when I felt him climbing into bed.

Feeling too drowsy, I did not ask him how things went.

When I woke up the next morning, he had already gone out.

Fiona knocked on the door and said, "Madam, if you're awake, breakfast is ready. When Mr. Roberts went out this morning, he told me to come up to take the laundry to wash."

I nodded and let her into the bedroom. Then, I went to the bathroom.

As always, the laundry was taken care of by her so I did not need to worry about it. I tied my hair and went into the bathroom.

I noticed the stunned look she had when she picked up Hendrix's laundry.

Instinctively, I looked over and clearly saw a bright red lipstick mark on the collar of his white shirt.

"Mrs. Roberts, Master Roberts might have..." Fiona said, feeling a little awkward.

I smiled and said, "It's alright. It was probably an accident. Just go on and take it to wash!"

I continued to brush my teeth and wash my face. I was not upset. After spending so many years with Hendrix, I knew clearly in my heart just what kind of person he was.

When it came to the affairs between men and women, I still trusted him wholeheartedly. I wouldn't doubt him over such trivial matters.

Fiona let out a breath of relief and left after gathering the laundry.

She took a few steps out of the door before turning back again. She stood outside the door and said, "Mrs. Roberts, Mr. Roberts isn't that kind of person. Don't think too much about it."

I smiled and said, "I have known him for eight years. I know him well enough to have at least this little bit of confidence in him."

She let out a sigh of relief and went out of the bedroom.

After breakfast, I instructed Fiona to take care of Anne. I left straight for Yana's house.

I hadn't seen her for nearly half a year. On the way,

I dropped by the mall and picked up a gold pendant and a pair of silver bracelets. It was said that gold was good for their ionizing effect and silver was hypoallergenic, thus all in all, they were excellent gifts for a child.

When I arrived, Yana held her child, who was crying sadly in her arms to coo him. Her child had not yet turned one.

She was surprised to see me. She handed the child over to the nanny and walked towards me saying, "Why didn't you tell me in advance that you were coming? I would have gone to pick you up. Have you eaten yet?"

I smiled and said, "I had breakfast before I left the house earlier." My eyes were drawn to the child and I couldn't help but ask, "Is he hungry?"

She huffed and complained, "This boy is always crying. He cries just about everything. I am convinced that he is more squeamish than a girl."

Looking at the content smile on her face, I couldn't help feeling a few stabs of envy. I said, "After all, he's still a child. Things will be better as he grows older."

I wanted so much to hold the baby, but instead, I just handed the gift to her.

She nagged at me for a while before pulling me into the living room, where we engaged in small talk.

On the way back home, I felt lost, not knowing where to go. I went into an alley and glimpsed an old man selling grilled corn. Somehow, I felt that the scene was somewhat familiar.

I went forward and ordered a packet of corn. The old man said with a smile, "Miss, would you like to get sweet potatoes and grilled potatoes too?"

Looking at his tan and kind face, I gave in with a nod, "Alright!"

Things got a little awkward when I tried to pay. I did not have my wallet with me as I hadn't had the habit of paying in cash for quite some time. I had with me only my phone and some credit cards. It was to say the least, rather embarrassing.

The old man noticed my distress and said kindly, "Don't worry. I will be here every day. You can pay me the next time you drop by."

I stared at the ten dollars worth of goods in my hand and returned it forlornly to the old man. I said apologetically, "I'm sorry, but I really don't have any cash with me."
