I nodded and looked up at Hendrix. I had no idea what to say so I kept silent.

Leaning against his chest, I listened to his heartbeat.

He asked, "Don't you have any cash with you?"

I was stunned for a moment and nodded, "I bought something from an old man in an alley. I didn't bring any money with me, so I borrowed some money from her."

He sighed, "You can get cash out of the bank card I gave you. If you want to spend money, feel free to use it."

I nodded, "Is there cash at home?"

"There are tens of thousands of dollars in the drawers in the study. You can take them if you want!"

"Alright," I said and stopped talking. I just hugged and clung to him, greedily taking in his body's scent.

It was drizzling in Jarold City. When I arrived at the Moore Villa, I didn't enter. I thought that if I went in there, I would have to stay for dinner. If I refused the invitation, Valerie and Pedro might feel uncomfortable.

I gave up and stood outside the gate for a while before turning away.

The spring rain was a little warm.

It comforted me. When I left the Moore Family home, I was a little absent-minded and subconsciously went to the Roberts Group.

Time just slipped away. The scene of me coming to Jarold City five years ago seemed to flash in front of my eyes.

In the blink of an eye, time had already passed by so quickly. The days were long, and the road was far. I had spent the past few years in a fragmented state.

When I approached the front desk, I thought I needed to make an appointment to meet Hendrix, but to my surprise, the receptionist seemed to know me. She walked up to me and greeted, "Mrs. Roberts, you're here."

I was a little surprised and asked, "How did you know..."

"Mr. Roberts just called to remind me about you. You can go straight up!" she smiled and seemed to not think that anything was amiss.

After I returned to Jarold City, almost all the news and headlines that followed were exposed. How could I have forgotten about that? As a member of the Roberts Group, how could they not pay attention to those things?

Hendrix's office was on the top floor.

Before I could enter the office, he had already come out, holding a black fountain pen in his hand. It seemed that he was working just then.

He drew me closer to him and smiled, letting out a sigh of relief as he said, "Why are you here?"

Seeing that my hair and clothes were somewhat damp, he took me into the lounge and looked for a change of clothes, saying helplessly, "Take a shower and change your clothes."

Looking at his shirt, I pursed my lips, "We're in your office." The implication was that we were in the office, not at home. It was inappropriate to wear his shirt so casually.

He smiled and kissed me lightly, "It's okay. You can wear this first. Evan will send you some clothes later."

After entering the bathroom, the phone on his desk rang. I heard his low voice from afar, "Come in!"

It was probably the staff from downstairs sending documents. I opened the shower and rinsed my body.

Feeling warm, I put on his clothes. It was a black shirt, and the length was to my knees, not at all short.

I didn't blow my hair dry. Instead, I walked out of the lounge and saw Rowane standing next to him in front of the desk.

Talking about the strategic planning of the Al promotion, the two of them were incredibly focused. I thought that Hendrix had failed to notice me.

I didn't want to disturb him so I just stood quietly at the door of the lounge.

All of a sudden, he stopped talking and looked at me. He smiled and said, "Go dry your hair. You might fall sick."

Those two sentences of his also distracted Rowane who was originally focused on her work. She looked in my direction instead.
