"What choice did I have? My parents look down on me and they want me dead!" One girl said.

For a moment, I was confused. "Did your parents send you here?"

The sprightly woman spoke up, her face cold, "How should I put it? There are parents in this world who think that whatever they do is right, and they'd never allow their children to challenge that. Should their children disobey them, they'll push them into the abyss in the name of love."

I was speechless, at a loss for words. I looked at her and said, "So, your parents sent you here?"

She shrugged her shoulders. "Sort of. They heard that the Deer Mount Academy in Jarold City was a good place to educate problematic children, so they sent me there for me to get beat up or yelled at. I couldn't bear it anymore and tried to escape, but they took me back and broke my legs. They didn't dare tell my parents, so they simply orchestrated a fire to cover it up. By the time I woke up, I wasn't dead, but had been sent here instead."

I finally understood why she had asked everyone to gather closer to her when she had been sitting the furthest away from us. My gaze fell on her legs. While there was nothing too unusual at first glance, once I properly looked at them, I could tell that her legs looked different.

When she caught me eyeing her, she didn't seem uncomfortable. She just sat there casually.

After a pause, I said to her, "You don't look like someone who's still in school."

She laughed and looked at me. "Why? Just because I'm a little dolled up?"

Realizing that I came off a little hostile, I shut up and looked at the other girls as I asked about how they ended up here.

I started to understand that each girl had their own unique reason that had led them here.

Some of them had been born into poor families. They were out to find jobs but had been tricked and lured here with promises of a high salary.

Some people had been brought here in the dead of night after work because they lived alone in a city.

It was clear that everyone was brought here differently, but one fact was constant. We didn't know what the people who brought us here were after.

I tried to untie the rope for a long time, but still failed. Then, I heard footsteps and voices coming from the outside which turned out to be the voices of several men. For a moment, we looked at each other.

"Go back to your places!" I said, but it was too late.

A few men pushed the door open and walked in. When they came in, they saw that we were all huddled together.

It was obvious what we were doing. I thought these men would fly into a rage out of humiliation, but they didn't.

They just continued looking at us, then looked at each other and smiled.

One of them said frivolously, "We haven't had our fix for several days now. The women brought in this time are pretty good-looking. How about giving it a go?" Another said, "The bosses don't allow that. Are you sure it'll be fine?"

"F*ck, they're miles away. If we don't spill anything, how will they find out? Besides, don't those guys only come at night? There are still five or six hours left till then. We have more than enough time." As he said, he walked towards us.

Fortunately, these girls were strong enough to remain calm in the face of the incoming threat.

The sprightly woman glanced over at us. After a moment, when she saw the man come over, she crooned softly, "Handsome, you've already put in so much effort bringing us here. It wouldn't be good to use force to do this. Why don't we volunteer instead?"
