When we met again, they seemed numb, like they had gotten used to the life here. They looked up at me and then closed their eyes again, as if I wasn't there. My heart ached instantly. I turned to look at Tiago and asked, "Why are they like this?"

Tiago glanced at her, nonchalant. "This happens to all women who come here. It's nothing surprising."

My breath caught upon hearing that. I looked at him and asked in hushed tones, "Didn't you say that you would take good care of them?"

"Hah!" Tiago sneered and replied, "Letting them stay alive was more than enough. What you'd see otherwise would just be corpses."

I fell speechless for a moment, and despite my anger, I couldn't say a word.

I snapped, "Let them out!"

He didn't speak. He just gave the guards beside him a hand signal.

The guards stepped forward and opened the glass door, helping the lifeless women out of the room.

I stepped forward to hold Naomi to me. With her whole body pressed onto mine, she looked at me and said hoarsely, "Arianna, leave. It's useless. This is our fate!"

I shook my head. My eyes were a little red as I helped her walk out. My arm, which had not fully recovered yet, felt a little painful from her tugging.

Tiago had gotten four rooms in the villa ready for them to stay in, and had sent someone to take care of them.

Finally, this problem was settled.

After watching all of them fall asleep, I went out of the room and into the hall, where Tiago and Westin were drinking tea.

The two of them looked up when they saw me. Tiago frowned and asked, "What's the matter?"

"I'll keep my promise. I'll take their place!"

The two of them were stunned. However, Tiago smiled as he leaned back on his chair before saying, "Miss Reid, do you know what will happen to you if you enter that operating room?"

"I know!"

He chuckled and said, "Well, this is a first. I've never met someone who's in such a hurry to die!"

I pursed my lips and didn't say anything, waiting for him to continue.

Shortly, he looked at me and said, "You don't have to go in. It's a waste to let you die like that. Mr. Kaleb has other uses for you. Go back, and rest well!"

I was stunned for a moment. When I saw the two of them drink their tea solemnly, realization dawned upon me.

I realized that with Kaleb aware of my relationship with Hendrix, it wouldn't be worthwhile to let me die like this.

Businessmen always strived to maximize their profits.

Back in the bedroom, I stood on the balcony and scanned the surroundings outside. As usual, there were many guards outside which made it almost impossible for me to escape.

The location of this villa was very secluded, surrounded by rows and rows of banana trees. Very few people could find their way here without a guide.

Thinking it through carefully, I believed Hendrix would be in the city for at least a couple more days. He would not leave Myanway for the time being.

I only saw Sebastian again the next day in the early morning, and it was Kaleb who had brought him here.

Naomi and the others were still too weak, so they spent most of their time lying in bed. I had gone to see them several times, and they were either sleeping or unwilling to see anyone. In the end, I gave up on the idea of visiting them.

I had just come out of the bedroom when Sebastian arrived. He was sitting in the hall, drinking tea with Kaleb.

He got up when he saw me and asked, "Are your wounds better?"

I was surprised to see him. Then, I nodded. "It's much better now!"

With a faint, cold smile, he looked at Kaleb and asked, "Could I speak with her privately?"

Although Kaleb frowned at this, he allowed it.

Everyone else left the coffee table, and only Sebastian and I remained.
