I smiled and responded, "Yes, she just happened to be free today, so she brought me lunch. Would you like to have lunch with me?"

Linda shook her head and raised the lunch box in her hand, "I've got my own lunch."

It seemed that she was going to heat it up using the microwave in the pantry.

When I entered Sebastian's office, he was still busy. He didn't look up as I came in, and hence thought I was bringing him documents. He uttered, "Leave the documents here." Seeing that the milk cup on the table was empty, I was a little surprised. "I thought you wouldn't drink it!"

He looked up, slightly stunned. Then, he chuckled, "It tasted quite good!"

Noticing the bag in my hand, he raised his eyebrows and asked, "What did you bring with you?"

"Lunch!" I answered. I walked to the table and sat down. "My friend made it by herself, so it must taste good. I also brought you some. Would you try some?"

He got up, walked over to me, and said, "Naomi made this?"

It was a little unexpected, "You could guess it was her?"

He laughed. "You don't have many friends here, and there aren't many people who would cook for you. So, it is most likely her."

Well, that was quite a reasonable explanation.

I stared blankly for a moment, and took out the food. Then I handed the gastric medicine to him and reminded him, "Take this. Remember to eat it later when you have a gastric attack."

He took a look before looking back at me. "You asked Naomi to buy it?"

I nodded. "Sort of!"

He reached out his hand and took it. After a short pause, he asked, "Did you meet Hendrix last night?"

I couldn't react fast enough. It was way too drastic a change in topic!

Seeing that I didn't speak for a long time, he ate a few mouthfuls of the lunch and stared at me. He paused for a moment and told me, "The Roberts Group has recently developed a project in Asherton. Originally, Hendrix said that there was no need for him to come in person, but now, it seems that he is going to stay."

I nodded. I had no intention of answering Sebastian, and he noticed that I didn't seem to have anything to say.

He frowned slightly and said with varying emotions, "It's not a local business, after all. The Roberts are going to hold a bid in Asherton, at the Greenland Hotel. The Milton Group also intends to follow up on this project."

I raised my eyes to look at him, slightly stunned. Then I said, "Are you arranging for me to work on it? Is there anything I need to do?"

Upon hearing this, he smiled faintly and appeared to be rather cheerful. "You shall take over this project!"

I frowned and looked at him with some confusion. "But, I just joined the company. Firstly, I am only your secretary. My work is to take care of your affairs and arrange your documents. Following up with the case of Roberts Group is a project director's job. Secondly, even if you insist on letting me take over the project, my ability is the first thing to consider. Do you actually think I can cope?"

He raised his eyebrows, put down the fork in his hand, and looked at me seriously. "You have been working in Roberts Group for so many years, and had been promoted to director from the bottom. Isn't that enough proof of your abilities? There are no rules listed that a secretary cannot manage a project. You can ask Linda, she has been considered merely a special assistant since she joined Milton Group, but most of the company's projects came from her."

I frowned and couldn't help but think that he was brainwashing me into it.

After a pause, he continued, "In addition, the possibility of you winning the bid is very high, and that is in my interest."
