She smiled and said, "Not diamond mines! My Grandpa procured a legal coal mine a few years ago. It doesn't make much money, but at least... I won't starve to death."

I didn't ask further. After some chuckling, we left to get some afternoon tea.

We went in a white Cadillac. I laughed and told Naomi, "Many girls would be envious of your current state."

She cast a sidelong glance at me. "I have no worries, an unlimited budget, and can do whatever I want. That's all..."

I found it funny and responded, "That's all? That's the dream!"

I chuckled. Naomi was simple and straightforward, and filled with innocent curiosity. The car stopped at the entrance of a restaurant specializing in afternoon tea. Naomi announced, "Let's go and have some tea!"

The restaurant had a soothing ambience, with gentle songs playing in the background. It was an elegant and leisurely setting.

After ordering some food, she asked me, "Why did Sebastian hand over the project director's job to you?"

I shook my head. "I'm not sure!" There was nothing I could say about Hendrix, so I kept my mouth shut.

She pursed her lips and said seriously, "Is it because of the project that you are inquiring about the state enterprises?"

I nodded and said, "Sebastian didn't want to participate in this project initially, because Milton Group didn't have any technology- based businesses. I was surprised when he suddenly wanted to take it on and handed the task to me. I'm not sure, but it's definitely tricky to negotiate with the Roberts Group."

She thought for a moment and asked, "When do they start bidding?"

"Tonight!"

"D*mn it. He just asked you to come up with the plan this afternoon?"

I nodded in exhaustion, "I can't think of a good plan in such a short time. Alas!"

She looked at me and said, "Tell me what you have so far, maybe I can help you with something."

I told her the details of the project. She thought for a while with her head tilted. "Where's the bidding tonight?"

"The Greenland Hotel!"

She nodded and said, "I know who Oscar Hathaway is... I'll arrange for someone to get information, to see if we can get an edge!"

I said yes to her and when I looked up, I saw two familiar faces. I couldn't help but frown. Why were they together?

Naomi looked over as well and said in surprise, "D*mn, why is Dahlia here with such a handsome guy? Wait, isn't that the Mr. Handsome I stalked on the street this morning?"

I put my hand on my forehead. Why did such an innocent phrase sound so lewd when Naomi said it?!

I held back my laughter. Looking at them, I said, "Perhaps they are having a business discussion!"

Evan kept a straight face as he followed behind them. Even if he was asked to meet alone, knowing Hendrix's nature, he would have definitely arranged for Evan to come.
