My Silver Alpha
Chapter 1

At midnight the cry of a baby echoed throughout the castle. The child who was born that full moon night would be the next king of that fortress that was located at the top of the hill. His father, King Bardas, excited by the birth of his first male child, looked at his little girl with admiration once he was clean. His eyes shone with excitement knowing that the boy had been born healthy and strong.

In a few more years the boy would take his place as the new king of Silvermoon Castle. It was important to the king that his son grew up with the strength, skill and intelligence that he himself possessed to govern. He needed someone brave who lacked the fear factor, as long as he was willing to defend his own to the death.

Bardas was no longer as young as before, and for many years he tried to procreate a child but unfortunately his wife the queen’s uterus was not as strong as many thought. All of his children could not finish successfully, until Eren arrived. Against all odds the boy had been born healthy. That meant he would be a great king one day. But for this he had to go through many tests that his own father would assign to him, it was essential to test his bravery.

[…]

—Eren my son, I know that now you are too young to understand what I am going to tell you but I want you to know that all the decisions I make from now on are for your own good.

—What do you mean father? The young man asks his father with a confused expression.

—You are different from the rest of humanity, my son, you will discover it very soon and I will be at your side to guide you.

Bardas was sitting on his throne while his son stood before him. The old man spoke wisely to his son, hoping that the boy would understand that he had a great future ahead of him and with it many responsibilities. Luna de plata was a very large community which needed a great leader.

—How different father? I don’t understand what you’re talking about.

—You will understand in due time. The king looks out the window admiring the dark night. —You are very close to knowing it Eren.

A few years passed and with that Eren became an adult, unaware of the truth of his nature. But one dark afternoon, with the sky full of gray clouds, father and son were in the cemetery watching how the queen was buried. Unfortunately for the royal family they had lost a family member, the boy did not understand how his mother had died so suddenly. And no one told him the real reason, his father was one who remained silent and impassive in the face of the loss of his wife.

That was when Eren began to feel strange, being surrounded by many people began to overwhelm him. Without being able to avoid it he backed away from everyone, his whole body felt as hot as if he had a fever. How come he started feeling sick out of nowhere? The boy put his hands on his chest, it hurt a lot. Since he did not want to make a scene at his mother’s funeral, the boy fled into the forest behind the castle. Running through the enormous pine trees, Eren felt his chest compress, the pain was abominable.

So much so that he could not take any more steps, falling to his knees on the ground. He was breathing hard, exhausted, and left both hands on the ground. His head seemed like it would explode into a thousand pieces, a stream of drool emerged from his mouth that he didn’t understand why he was expelling so much. Then the pain became more acute that made him scream, echoing in that forest. He balled his hands into fists as he began to feel his bones rattling.

The boy opened his eyes looking at his hands, which were beginning to grow gray fur. His fingers began to change, becoming like a wolf’s.

-What is this? I gasp tiredly.

And with that said, another pain settled in his back, it was as if he had been hit with a bat, breaking all his bones. And out of nowhere… everything happened, there was no more pain. Eren looked at everything around him without understanding what had happened. He could hear everything clearly, it was surprising. He looked at his hands and they had turned into huge gray paws. What’s going on? She asked herself stepping back which makes her realize that he had a huge fluffy tail. And before he could

go into shock

—Calm down! The boy hears his father’s voice, looks everywhere looking for him but only sees a huge brown wolf behind him.

-You can talk? He asks the wolf not knowing how the hell he was talking.

—Yes, I am your father Eren. I am Bardas.

—My father is a human, you are a wolf.

—Just like your son of mine. You’re a werewolf just like me. Don’t be scared, you just had your first transformation. It’s normal to feel lightheaded.

-What the hell is going on? She walks towards her father awkwardly.

—I am a werewolf, and many who live here are too. Only they keep their nature hidden to preserve the species.

-How is that possible? That doesn’t exist father, it’s fantasy.

—That’s how we wish it were. Son, now that you have transformed you must control your emotions. As a result of your mother’s death, your transformation process accelerated. I have been very attentive to you, but I see that you have achieved it successfully.

The brown wolf approaches his son and laments the wolf’s ear. The boy bowed his head, he didn’t know why but he felt the need to bow to his father. Just then he wondered if his mother was also a werewolf.

—Was Mom a wolf too?

-No. he responds sadly. —She was human, I never wanted him to turn her into a wolf.

—Human? Can we mix with humans and convert them?

—Eren, there are times when a wolf falls in love with a human, choosing her as her partner for life. This is what happened with your mother, usually they release a pheromone that only the wolf designated for her can smell. That’s how you discover when you find your moon, it’s up to you and hers to choose if she wants to be turned into a wolf. Unfortunately your mother…

-What happened to her?

Her father told her the terrible news of how her mother died, becoming the victim of a wild animal while walking around the forest. Because she was a fragile human, she was unable to defend herself against it. By the time the screams alerted the wolves, her wounds were too severe to heal. The king told her son that he could turn her into a wolf and thereby allow her to heal her wounds and lengthen her life, but the queen refused to change the nature with which she was born.

Without any choice, Bardas watched his wife slowly die. While he kept his son away from all that so that he would not have to witness the death of his mother. The father told him that he only did it to prevent his transformation from happening prematurely since it would be much more painful that way.

Eren took a few steps assimilating the information acquired by his father, he could not believe that he was a werewolf and that much more like them existed outside.

—Eren, now that you know what you are, you should know that there is a test you must take before taking my position. The boy turned his head to watch his father turn into a human. —Relax, so you will return to your normal state. He obeyed, breathing calmly until he got it. Both being completely naked.

—Will we always return this way? Without any clothes!

—It’s normal, you’ll soon get used to it. Now, you should know that you will have to go my son. You must learn to stand up for yourself, become a true alpha. Someone who knows how to guide his people with wisdom.

—Go where?

-Far from here. You have to learn to defend yourself and become brave. Learn to use your wolf’s strength, trust him and your instincts. When you master these skills you will be able to return my son and become the silver moon king as my successor.

—But father…

—I have faith in you Eren. You were born against all negative odds. You are strong, and you have been able to master your first transformation with strength. I’m sure you’ll get it, but for that I need you to do it without my shadow behind you.

The boy is silent for a moment. He did not want to leave his father alone, he had been a great man who taught him many things. With the loss of his mother, only he was left, and the thought of leaving crushed his heart.

—How long should I be gone, Father?

—Don’t worry about time, boy. The man leaves a hand on his shoulder. —I am 300 years old, I assured you that I will be here when you return. He smiles sadly.
