My Silver Alpha -
Chapter 3
Excited was a very soft word for what she was feeling at that moment, rather excited was the appropriate word for the moment that Valentina was living… after a long time, one of her many wishes was finally fulfilled, after working for long hours. Without rest in her uncle’s restaurant, this 25-year-old girl would finally be reunited with her mother and little brother.
Since she was old enough to work, her mother was forced to send her with her uncle to Asheville (United States), almost two days away from her home in Telluride, Colorado. The reason why her mother sent her to her father’s brother was because Valentina’s father had recently died when a snow slide occurred in the town, leaving him covered in snow. Abandoning his wife with a girl to support and another in her womb.
It was not easy for the mother to support the family when her husband had left her some debts, so her brother-in-law kindly offered her niece a job as soon as she was of a safe age since the mother was not in a position to work. Furthermore, the man was also not willing to support the entire family in his home since he also had his own. For this reason, Valentina was the one who had to go to work very hard to support her mother.
But that was a few years ago, and the girl thought it was time to return to her mother. Fortunately, she had found a job and so had her daughter, so without thinking much about it, the young girl quit her uncle’s job and there she was packing her belongings to take the first bus on which she would return home. Valentina smiled every now and then, it had been many years since she had seen her mother, and she had not seen her brother either, she thought that she would already be a big boy.
—I see that you are happy. The young woman is startled when she hears the voice of her cousin’s friend, that man followed her everywhere.
-That’s how it is! She answers without turning around.
—Your cousin told me that you are leaving for Telluride today, is that true? Or he was just blaspheming.
—It’s true, I’m leaving in an hour.
-What a pity! And I was thinking of asking you out, why don’t you stay?
—Because I want to be with my family.
—This is your family too.
-You would not understand. She answers by closing the suitcase.
The girl turns around seeing that man standing at the door of her tiny room. Since her uncle had a large family, she had no choice but to prepare a room that served as a storage room, turning it into her bedroom. She noticed a smile on the subject’s face, her presence bothered her, he seemed like a stalker.
-I’m going now! She picks up her suitcase and leaves the bedroom.
—Can I visit you sometime?
—I’m sorry, the truth is that I’m not interested in getting involved with any man. Answer deadly serious.
—At some point you will have to do it.
-I know! But I’m not interested. Bye bye!
Valentina walked outside where her uncle was waiting for her in the car, said goodbye to everyone in the house and got into the car. She looked at her watch noticing that she had little time left, she didn’t want to miss the bus but how could she tell her uncle to speed up her pace if she was driving like a turtle.
-We’ll arrive on time. Her uncle tells her as if reading her mind.
-I guess.
At the station she said goodbye to her uncle and got on the bus full of happiness. She tried to hide it from her family but it was inevitable. It’s not that they treated
her badly but she wanted to be with her people, she hadn’t seen her mother for too many years to want to stay in Asheville. Her life was in Telluride, there she would find the love of a good man for that reason she closed her heart to every suitor who came out in Asheville.
The bus started moving and with it his heart too. It would be a very tiring trip, but it was worth it. It was almost winter and with it the town would be filled with snow. And there was nothing else he loved more in the world than snow. He bit his l*p with a smile creasing his lips.
—Soon mommy, very soon we will be together again. We will never be separated again, I will stay with you and my brother and we will move forward. He whispers under his breath.
After a full day of traveling, Valentina was already exhausted. The bus was not very comfortable, but it was what she could afford if she wanted to carry extra money until she started working. After a quick stop, the young woman put on a sweater. The cold was beginning to set in and the last thing she wanted was to catch a cold. She got back on the bus, seeing the mountain they would enter, the road was dangerous but she implored heaven that the driver knew how to do things right.
Being very far from the last stop, Valentina looked out the window at the beautiful landscape that consisted of enormous dense pine trees. She imagined that beneath all that surely awaited a forest that hid many secrets, ones that no one should discover. She sighed deeply as she looked at her watch, there were still a few hours left to get home, that afternoon she seemed a little cloudy making her a little sleepy. Valentina closed her eyes for a moment as she settled into her seat.
[…]A loud explosion woke the young woman startled, the only thing she heard were screams and scandals around her. The passengers were going crazy while she didn’t understand what was happening. Suddenly the bus began to skid on the road, Valentina held on to the front seat when it all started. Then due to her gravity her body began to float in the air and she suddenly began to hit the seats causing serious damage.
Valentina bounced like a ball along with the other passengers who were screaming desperately, she was also screaming or not… well she wasn’t sure if she was doing it since she was in shock at what was happening. When she realized it, the bus was no longer moving, she could only hear m***s of pain around her, including her. She couldn’t move, her whole body hurt like hell, it was eating her up inside her.
As she looked out the window, she saw a pair of huge dog paws, they were made of gray fur. She narrowed her eyes thinking that she could be hallucinating and at the same time not hallucinating and that they would be eaten by wolves. She felt fear as she continued to look out the broken window, and that’s when she saw a gigantic wolf head lean out the window.
It was so beautiful, so majestic. Those emerald green eyes were beautiful and captivating. Her heart gave a flutter that she didn’t know how to explain, possibly due to all the blows she had received… it was likely that she was dying and the last thing she would see would be a beautiful silver wolf with green eyes that who knows would end up eating her along with him and rest of the passengers. Without being able to help it, Valentina closed her eyes without knowing anything more about her life.
