In the end a group of men took the poor man to rest and feed him as he insisted on continuing on his way in search of his wife.

-Deon, you must tell this man the truth. His wife is not alive, and certainly not in this land infested with wild wolves.

-We can’t be sure of that, if he wants to keep looking for her, there’s nothing more we can do. It would be useless to try to convince him not to go on.

-He could die while searching for her.

The wolf sighed regretfully, it was possible that he might die while looking for her, but to make him understand that his wife was dead was a hopeless case. Wolves were very stubborn.

-It’s a risk he knows he’s taking… he’s a grown wolf, he’ll know what to do. And leaving that aside, there’s no need for them to go hunting anymore, the food Eren sent is enough to keep them quiet for a while.

-That’s right,” everyone nods, “We don’t need to put our lives at risk anymore.

-What I want you to do is to keep your guard up, watch as much as you can. Be on the lookout for any strange smells and report them to me immediately.

-Understood, sir.

The men turned into wolves and disappeared down the forest path. Deon was to hold the reins of the pack in the Alpha’s absence.

As Valentina and Sophia breakfasted in the huge hall in the company of Eren and his father, the doors were opened giving way to the king’s beta, Shane bows.

-Alpha, a visitor has arrived.

-Lucas, what is he doing here?

-My dear king, what a surprise to see you where you belong.” The alpha smiles openly as his eyes sparkled from Valentina’s presence, that scent was well known to Eren who immediately rose to his feet.

-What brings you here Lucas?

-I’ve come to welcome the new king, don’t you know? Many alphas from different packs will come to see you. They all deserve to know who their new king will be.

-The castle won’t be doing any celebrating, if that’s what you’ve come for.

-That’s what I’ve come for!

The alphas stare at each other in a staring battle, Eren didn’t like Lucas’ visit, he knew he was after Valentina.

-Son, it’s ok… this is normal for this to happen. All the alphas gather for one night to welcome the new king. It’s inevitable not to have a celebration.

-Father, we’re not here for this.

-Quiet, my son!

Eren turns his gaze to Lucas who was looking at Valentina in a desirous way, which caused the alpha to growl and his scent to become stronger. Which Lucas immediately picked up on and then smiled.

-Until tonight, your majesty.” As he left, Eren clenched his jaw.

-Father, what are you doing?

-Your scent is very pungent my son, calm down,” he replies, taking a sip of wine, “That alpha is no match for you, what are you worried about?

-I am irritated by his presence,” he confesses sincerely.

-What’s the matter? -That’s when Valentina asks at Eren’s seriousness.

-I want you to stay away from Lucas. I don’t want you near that guy.

-May I know why? -She asks with a raised eyebrow.

You’d better tell him, son,” the brunette listens to her father-in-law and looks at Eren.

-That wolf likes you!

She froze at the news, well one being in love with her was one thing but two was a bit much for a mere human. She didn’t understand Eren’s annoyance though, she only had eyes for him.

-He turns around and walks to the exit of the dining room leaving her with no right to defend herself.

-Don’t worry daughter, it’s just wolf jealousy. We tend to be very possessive of our females. He’s just protecting his territory.

-But he knows he shouldn’t be worried.

-If my alpha marks you, no wolf will come near you, but since you are wearing it for that reason, anyone can come around you, even if you are the girlfriend.

Now if she understood the annoyance, she bit her lips as she looked towards the door. Even though she still thought it was silly to be jealous, she wasn’t interested in Lucas. She loved him. She would have to tell him, she wanted him to be calm.

-Find something nice for tonight, there’s going to be a big party at the castle,” Old Bardas stands up, “You can’t miss a couple of beauties like you in the ballroom of my castle.

-But I have nothing to wear, I lost my things in an accident.

-One of the maids will take you to a room where you can try on many dresses. I’m sure one of them will fit you.

The man left, and immediately a young woman came in to take her to look for a garment for that night, Valentina thought it was too much trouble, she couldn’t refuse her father-in-law.

Eren was running furiously through the forest trying to drain the jealousy he felt inside. Lucas was getting on his nerves, to come and pretend to his moon right under his nose. And all because Valentina wasn’t wearing his mark, that irritated him even more. If only she wore it, he wouldn’t have to worry about another wolf prowling around her.

The silver wolf came to the perch shaking its snout, walked to the water and drank some of it. Suddenly Sophia’s scent came to him. He began to sniff realizing that she was there, it seemed very recent her scent, the strange thing was that Valentina’s scent was almost imperceptible that meant that she had not been there for a long time but the girl’s was more recent. What the hell was that puppy doing alone in the inn? Hadn’t he warned her not to get into mischief?

Suddenly the sound of some branches caught the alpha’s attention, he raised his ears and his muzzle began to drool. He knew that scent, and suddenly Valentina emerged from the branches with that smile that tormented him.

-Hello, they told me that they saw you running to this place,” she approached him, touching his muzzle tenderly, “I know you’re upset, but you shouldn’t be. You know I’m only interested in one wolf.

The young girl stops petting him to go and sit on the edge of the perch, Eren imitates her by sitting behind her like a padded wall.

-Your father told me why you’re jealous, I know it’s because you haven’t marked me and any wolf can get close to me. But I love you Eren, so you shouldn’t be anxious about that.” He nuzzles his muzzle again, “This place is so peaceful.

The wolf whimpers against his hand, feeling the warmth of his body, enveloping himself with her exquisite scent. The truth is that he was horny enough just having her like this, so he started sniffing Valentina’s body all over, it was inevitable that he wouldn’t do it since in his wolf form the desire to possess her was tremendous, let alone bite her, leaving his mark on the back of her neck.

-Hey, what are you doing? -If you want to k**s me or make love to me, you’d better get back to normal because I’m not going to do it with you in that state.

In seconds the wolf returned to his human state taking her in his arms….
