Chapter 9

After looking out the window for hours and remembering absolutely nothing about her life, Valentina gave up and went back to bed again to try to get some sleep. Even though she could walk on her own didn’t mean she was okay. She felt a lot of pain in her body and from time to time her head ran so much that she could even faint… as soon as she managed to reach the padded bed she lay down on it, grateful for the softness of the pillows.

Without warning the door to his bedroom opens with a crash, scaring him to death. For a moment the brunette thought it was Eren, she didn’t know why she had thought such a thing but when she saw little Sofia running in, Valentina felt a kind of disappointment inside her which caused her discomfort.She shouldn’t be feeling that way with a married man, she was a bad woman. The worst of all.

-Are you awake! Excellent. The girl says, taking her out of her absurd thoughts. -Do you want us to play?

-Play? Well the truth is that she was planning to sleep a little. Answer honestly.

-No. Sofia pouts. —She plays with me, before my father arrives. Then he won’t let me play with you.

—Okay, but just for a little while, okay?

-Made! The little girl smiles.

-You promise?

-Clear. She answers by giving him the little finger of hers. —Let’s cross, it’s a promise.

The brunette plays along, sensing that it wouldn’t just be for a while. But how could she say no to that beautiful girl with brown eyes. She was very cute and affectionate, at that moment Valentina wondered if she had siblings. She held back her tears, she didn’t want to cry in front of the little girl and then scared her, she wasn’t to blame for what had happened to her.

An hour later, Valentina’s body was screaming for her to rest. But Sofía was persistent and ended up convincing her to play a few more minutes. When she was about to tell him that she would no longer play, the door to her room opens, giving way to Eren who first saw Sofia on the bed with a pile of cards on the mattress.

—Sofía, it’s time for you to go down with your mother. He orders in a thick voice for a little girl.

-Bye bye! He whispers to Valentina but first leaves a k**s on her cheek. That affection from the girl suited the girl well, she was warm and homely.

The little girl ran out of the room, leaving Valentina alone with the grandeur of that man who filled the entire bedroom with his presence. Eren was so big and muscular that it was scary just to see him standing in the doorway with his arms crossed and frowning.

—Have you been able to remember anything?

-No.

-Safe?

—I’m sure, why are you asking me?

—Let me know if you regain your memory of her, I will take care of sending her with someone to reunite with her family of her.

—Are you kicking me out of your house, Mr. Eren? The girl asks him in a thick tone.

Eren’s words stuck in her throat when she heard her trick question. She didn’t know what to answer him, because even though he wanted to take her out of the silver moon, her heart screamed for him not to do it. Her father was so right, it was impossible to stay away from her.

—I just want him to meet with her family, ella Valentina, don’t you want that?

-Yeah. He looks away feeling a little angry inside, that answer didn’t answer her question. But it wasn’t necessary since he knew very well that he was throwing her out of her. —If I remember something I’ll definitely let you know. No one more than I want to leave this place, wherever it is. He responds with disdain.

The alpha frowns at that response, why the hell was she angry? She could smell it in her scent. Everything about her had an aura of irritation but there was also something else… Eren went to take a step towards her when he perceived Lili’s scent of her behind him.

—Oh! You’re already lying down. I’m very happy because I brought you something to eat before you go to sleep.The woman smiles at him.

—I don’t have an appetite, but thanks anyway.

—You must feed yourself so that you regain lost strength. Come on, don’t let that huge man over there intimidate you.

Valentina gives him a look which was reciprocated. The young woman thought that this guy had a very penetrating look, that intense look in his emerald eyes caused shivers inside her. She looked away from him, she made her uncomfortable. So she flattened her lips looking at Lili who was looking at her as if she had discovered her. Her heart began to beat like crazy when she felt discovered by that man’s wife.

-Are you OK?Lili keeps a hidden smile on her face, the girl’s aroma had changed drastically while she observed her alpha. That indicated that she felt empathy towards him, the brunette was sure that her alpha had perceived it too.

-Very sorry!

-Eat something. The woman leaves the plate on the bed and then leaves the room, patting Eren on her shoulder before disappearing down the corridor.

—Feed yourself, being weak will not help you recover. Was all she told him as she turned to leave.

Eren went down to the kitchen where Lili was waiting for him with a smile on her face. He already imagined where she was going, but the truth is that he didn’t want to listen to her, but did she have her choice?

—He likes you, there’s no doubt about that.

—We can’t know. Answer bluntly.

—Don’t say that, of course he feels empathy towards you. If I perceived the change in her aroma, you too, being who she is for you.

-I don’t want to talk about that. He responds curtly.

-What’s happening? The wolf frowns.

—I’m thinking of rejecting it. She confesses, pouring herself a cup of coffee.

—Eren, but she is your moon. How are you going to reject her?

—She is human, I don’t want a human as my partner. That’s all!

—But you know well that you can turn her into a wolf if you want, with the mark you could do it.

He closes his eyes for a moment, he was looking out the back door of the house that led to the forest. He takes a deep breath as he opens them again. He had already made her decision, he would not take her as his partner.And that would be his last word.

—I’m not going to bite her to condemn her to this life, she was born a human, not a werewolf. She could never ask me to convert her and do it just to stay by my side. I prefer to remain alone rather than condemn her to this wildlife.

—Don’t you think she should make her own decisions?

“I’ve already decided!” I am the alpha of this pack, is that clear to you Lili?

-Yeah. She answers, bowing a little.

Eren’s aroma was present when he spoke, indicating to the woman who was in charge. Neither she nor anyone else would change his mind, well at least in that place. There was only one person who would make his life impossible as if he didn’t do what he wanted… his father. He possibly insisted that he marry Valentina and offered to make her one of them. That would be a tremendous headache.
