Nash drove to the airport to pick her up himself.

Hera’s phone kept ringing in the car Some were congratulatory calls

while others were about work.

When they met Eva, the introductions were quick. Hera and Eva

clicked right away.

Eva was no ordinary person. She had turned a small family

investment into a billion-dollar business.

Eva knew a lot about how companies were run and their rules. She

had made many friends in her job at the Great Eastern Tower. She

was just the kind of person who could help Hera with her busy job,

“Innovate Collective… I guess it’s meant to be. My mom and dad used

to work there, but they got fired and started their own business!” Eva

said with a funny look on her face.

“We’ve just taken over Innovate Collective, and it’s all mixed up. I’m

counting on you to fix the situation, Eva!” Hera said, looping her arm through Eva’s.

“So, Ms. Lewis, what title and pay are you thinking to assign me?” Eva

asked with a sly smile.

“You’ll be the deputy CEO with a million-dollar salary and a 2% stake

in the company!” Hera had it all planned out.

“The salary’s good, just like at the Great Eastern Tower. Let’s skip the shares for now. We can talk about that after I do a great job!” Eva

They shook hands to seal the deal. A little while later, Nash pulled up

outside Innovate Collective. He wanted to help Eva get settled, but

she was eager to start working and wanted to see Innovate Collective

right away.

Hera quickly called a meeting with the top executives to share some

big news-Eva was going to be the new deputy CEO of Innovate

Collective. At the meeting, Eva was amazing. She made big promises

about leading the team to earn more bonuses.

Nash started to wonder if he had a knack for judging people. When

the meeting was over, Eva and Hera did not rush off. They were so

happy talking about work in the office that they didn’t want to leave.

Just then, Nash got a call from Derek. Derek sounded really worried.

Mr. Nash… we’re in trouble. You have to come help us!”

Nash looked serious. “Where are you?”

“Artful Prosperity Auction House!”

“Okay, I’m on my way!” Nash said goodbye to Hera and drove off to

the Artful Prosperity Auction House. It was a place he knew well from

a previous auction.

slaps, and Yasmin was holding her dislocated right hand with her left.

Derek looked the worst-his face was so bruised and swollen his own

“Hey, you jerk! Do you have any idea who my grandpa is?” Queenie

yelled, her hand on her cheek.

They were facing a group of martial artists, all dressed alike. They

looked very serious.

Leading the group was a young guy in a crisp white suit.

His name was Trevor Lax, a big-shot businessman from Capiton.

He came to the auction today to win a piece of land in Nancil that

was up for grabs.

He had already told everyone he was from the powerful Lax family of

Capiton, but these knuckleheads still tried to bid against him.

Trevor sat back, laughing. “Go on, tell me about your grandpa. I’m

dying to know if he’s scary enough to frighten me!”
