"Are you sure you want to do this Opal? I told you I could find out all the information on your mother possible," Kenzo said for the hundredth time. "Yes Kenzo, I'm sure. I still want what you can find, but.. You can't find out what kind of person my mother was. I want to know her, really know her." I replied. "Okay, but I am not letting you out of my sight still. Especially with your sister there." Kenzo grumbled as he shivered.

I laughed at his dramatic act.

"You better stay close to me. The last thing I want to deal with is Jezz kissing my man," I said.

"You really think she would kiss him now?" Kendra asked.

Marc snorted.

"No, Jezz is more likely to sneak into their room in the middle of the night naked." He said.

I gave him a disgusted look.

"Ugh, you're right," I said.

"Definitely are not leaving my side." Kenzo said as he pulled me closer to him.

I giggled before kissing his lips.

"Wow, this place is amazing. Such an upgrade Op." Kendra said.

Kenzo had to work late today, so he told me to invite my friends and brother over. Of course, he's home now, but they are still here hanging out with us. I'm not going to lie, I really needed it. I haven't told Kendra or Marc about what's happened yet. Just hanging out with them has been so nice, I really didn't want to ruin it.

"Should I order us some dinner?" Kenzo asked me.

"Yeah, let's get pizza!" Kendra said.

I frowned.

"What would you like, kitten?" Kenzo asked me softly in my ear.

Heat rushed from my cheeks through the rest of my body.

"Uhm, well, I could think of a few things right now," I said.

Kenzo smirked at me.

"With your friends here and everything?" He teased. "Don't tempt me kitten."

I must have made a sour face because Kenzo chuckled. He kissed the top of my head. I moved my head up to capture his lips.

"Gross." Jed muttered from behind us.

Kenzo broke our kiss, and I pouted.

"Alright, pizza it is. What should I get?" Kenzo asked.

"Meat lovers," Jed declared.

"Alright. Anything special you want baby?" Kenzo asked me.

I shook my head and crossed my arms.

"No thank you." I grumbled.

"Don't be like that, Op, you love pizza. Just have a little. You won't gain 20 pounds," Marc said.

I rolled my eyes at him.

"Its not that. It just doesn't sound good," I said.

"Since when does pizza not sound good?" Kendra mumbled.

Kenzo turned me to face him.

"What sounds good to you then, my love?" He asked me.

"Awwhh." Kendra said sarcastically.

We ignored her.

"How about more of that sushi from yesterday?" I asked with a smile.

Kenzo chuckled and kissed my lips.

"Alright baby, sushi and pizza," he said.

Kenzo turned around, and started tapping on his phone. I walked out to the balcony and sat down on one of the chairs. Everyone followed me and looked at our view. Kenzo really does have a stunning view of the city. "Wow, I can't believe you live here now," Marc said.

"I know." I said.

"Are you going to tell us how exactly this happened?" Kendra asked.

Jed and I shared a look.

"So, uhm, I have something to tell you guys," I said.

"Are you sure you're ready to talk about it again, Opal? You look like you haven't slept in days." Jed said.

"Gee thanks." I bit out. "Yes I'm fine. I need to talk about it. Besides, I may or may not have agreed to spend the weekend at home," I added.

"You what?" Jed asked. "Why would you do that?"

"Mo- er.. Jane told me she would tell me about my mom." I said.

"Wait," Kendra said. "Your mom?"

I nodded.

"So, uh, Kenzo's a.sshole grandfather threw us what he called an engagement party. He only invited Akane and her husband, along with Jezz and our parents," I said.

"Wow." Kendra said flatly.

"Yeah.. Where my mom announced to everyone, very coldly I might add... that.. I'm adopted." I told them.

"What?" Marc asked, surprised.

"Oh Opal." Kendra said.

"I'm.. alright I guess. I just found out that my real mother's name was Charolette. Jane said that she'd tell me all about her this weekend. Kenzo is still trying to find out all he can about her for me too." I said. They were all silent for a moment.

"Well, I for one am happy as hell that you weren't part of that family then. No offense Jed." Marc said.

I gave him a bored look.

"I still share blood with them, Marc," I told him.

Marc shrugged and I shook my head.

"Are you sure about this Opal? I don't know if I really trust Mom," Jed said. "I mean, why did she wait all this time to tell you this? And to drop it on you in the middle of your engagement. I wouldn't put it past her to do that, but.. What did she get out of this?" He asked.

I had to think about that for a moment. Does Jed have a point? Should I have thought more into that?

Why did Jane wait until that moment to tell me? I know that I wondered about that that night, but.. She got nothing from it. Nothing that I know of. Maybe there is something Haru offered them?

If it wasn't such a big deal, since that's how she wanted to play it, then why not tell me sooner? I can think of five different times right off the top of my head that she could have told me that at. A lot of fights that she could have used as amo.

Could... Haru have convinced her to tell me, right then? That seems possibly far fetched. I don't really know what kind of lengths he would go just to get me to leave his grandson. He does have a lot of money, and is a cruel man. Maybe he did convince Jane to tell me on that night somehow.

But how? How was he able to get her to do it? Is he blackmailing them somehow? With what?

It's not like Haru could pay Jane and James off. They have tons of money. It had to be some kind of blackmail. Maybe he got Jezz to do something. Or caught something on Jezz during some party. That sounds more believable.

Did Kenzo suspect this too? That would explain why he's been on his phone more lately. He keeps telling me he's waiting for some information. I just assumed it was work related. Maybe he's been waiting for information about my life. To figure all of this out for me. I just have to put my trust in Kenzo. That is definitely something I can do.

"Kenzo will be with me," I said. "I mean, what are they going to do? Embarrass me? Lie to me?" I asked sarcastically.

Jed sighed.

"I understand where he's coming from Op." Marc said. "Your family kind of fu.cking sucks, and they put you down. You get so mopey when you're around them for too long."

Kendra gave me a reassuring smile.

"Well, you'll just have to stay positive now. You're different now, Opal. You're more confident, and you're happier. You don't need those hoes. Fu.ck them! Get what you came there for, and get the hell out." She said.

My best friend, the life coach.

I smiled at all of them.

"Kendra is right. I am different now. Not only will I have Kenzo as backup and support.. I finally feel like I can really stand up to them." I said confidently.

"Plsu, you can call Marc or me anytime." Kendra said.

"Yeah," Marc agreed.

"I would just come out there as backup and support too, but I have clients this weekend," Jed said.

"It's okay." I said, patting his hands.

A few minutes later, Kenzo came walking onto the balcony. He sat next to me on the long lounge chair. I smiled at him and he kissed my lips.

"Food will be here soon. I need to show you something real quick." He said,

"Oh okay." I said.

Kenzo pulled me up, and dragged me back to our bedroom. He pulled me inside, shut the door, turned around, and leaned against it. I raised an amused brow at him. Kenzo smirked.

"Get on your knees kitten," he ordered.

A shiver ran through me. I immediately dropped to my knees. Kenzo tangled his hand in my hair, and I looked up at him.

"Undo my pants." Kenzo ordered.

I kept my eyes on him as I hurriedly undid the button and zipper of his suit pants.
