I'm dying. Literally. I am not built for this type of activity.

"I can put you through hours of intense s.ex, but you can't hike?" Kenzo teased lowly.

My head snapped to him.

"Shut up." I said.

"Wow, I can't believe she talked to the boss like that," Judy whispered loudly.

"You're getting punished for that later kitten." Kenzo whispered in my ear.

I shook my head. I hate this. I knew I should have made some excuse to not go on this hike. I thought that I could do it. That I could just push myself.

I was so wrong.

Kenzo and I were barely able to hide our hickeys. I tried desperately. I even asked Sasha and Nikki for help. So, mine aren't even noticable unless you're really looking. Kenzo, however.. I'm not sure he even cares if anyone sees.

He doesn't even look like he tried to hide them. They're all just.. there.. screaming, 'Hey, I got fvck. locked last night, guess who with'.

"Everything okay back there?" Nikki called from the front.

We split into two groups for the two separate trails. Nikki is leading this one, and Sasha the other. Apparently, they do this kind of thing all the time. I am holding up our group. "Yes, sorry," I called back.

This is so embarrassing.

"It's okay if you can't do this sort of thing Opal," Mary told me.

"Yeah, we shouldn't expect too much from someone like you," June said.

I narrowed my eyes at her.

"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked.

All of this frustration is making me a little too brave.

"Nothing." June said, faking innocence. "Just. We all know that you used to be.. a bigger girl. There's no shame in the surgery that you got to lose all of that weight, but.. if you can't keep up, we understand." She said. "Surgery?" I asked.

"Yeah, no need to be embarrassed Opal, June told us-" Mary started, but I'm done listening.

"Maybe if June spent as much time being good at her job, as she does starting rumors about me, Mr. Suzuki wouldn't have demoted her." I stated.

June's jaw dropped as my eyes went wide. You can hear a few people snicker around us. I can't believe I just said that.

June opened her mouth to say something else, but Kenzo stepped between us

"Nikki, please continue. I'm going to stay behind with Opal, and take a break." He announced.

Nikki gave him a nod, and smirked at me. She started walking again, and the rest of the group followed her.

Except June, who is just glaring at me.

I glared right back. She better not stay behind. I swear I will end up fighting her for real. I'm far too cranky to deal with her anymore.

"Come on June." Mary called out.

June huffed, but turned around to walk away. Kenzo grabbed me, and forced me to sit on a large rock. I crossed my arms, as I glared at the ground

"Don't let her bother you kitten. I told you that I will fire her as soon as we get back." Kenzo said.

I still can't believe I demanded Kenzo to fire June like that. I couldn't help myself. She's just so.. damn pushy! Maybe I let Akane and Kendra get in my head too much.

"I just hate her. I mean, surgery? Really? She just announces to everyone that I had some kind of surgery to lose weight? Do you know how incredibly insulting that is?

I worked very hard to make healthier choices for myself-"

"I know kitten, I know." Kenzo interrupted me.

I narrowed my eyes at Kenzo as he got down on his knees.

He pulled a bottle of water, and a granola bar out of his bag. Then he handed both to me.

"Do you know Kenzo? I don't think you really know how frustrating it is to have all of these rumors spread about you. Why can't they all just leave me be?" I complained

Kenzo cupped the side of my face and grabbed my hand. He brought my hand to his lips and kissed the back. The look in his eyes is one I'm not sure I've seen before. I can't place is. Is that.. guilt? "Opal, the rumors are only-"

Kenzo was interrupted by the bushes next to us shaking. I jumped slightly. Kenzo stood to his feet. We waited to see what was going to happen. Is it a mountain lion?

A second later, a man came stumbling out of the bushes.

"Ow. Fu.ck. Sh.it."

I stood up at the sound of that voice, and threw my water bottle at him.

"Ow. What the hell was that for Op?" Beck asked.

"For scaring me you sh.it head." I stated.

Beck raised a brow at me, and then looked at Kenzo.

"Opal is not in a very good mood." Kenzo told him.

"Ahh, not a hiker?" He asked.

"No I am not. I'm not a hiker, and I'm not in the mood for June and her stupid antics to try to steal my man!" I practically shouted

Then I stomped my foot. Like I'm a whole a.ss child. Beck chuckled at me, and Kenzo looks amused.

"I'm so glad that I'm amusing to you two." I said. "Ya know what?"

I turned on my heel to walk back the way we came. Fu.ck this stupid hike. I'm going to go take a nap.

"I'm over this!" I shouted

"Opa-" Kenzo tried.

"No, I don't care. I just wan-"

I was cut off mid sentence as my foot got caught in a root.

I couldn't stop myself as I fell to the ground. Well, I was a second away from hitting the ground before Kenzo caught me.

Kenzo pulled me against his chest.

"Are you alright Opal?" He asked.

I pushed off of his chest, and immediately regretted it. I groaned as I put my weight back on Kenzo. Apparently, I sprained my ankle worse than I thought. "Where does it hurt? Your ankle?" Kenzo asked.

I didn't answer him as I tried to put weight on it. The pain wasn't as bad this time. At least it isn't broken.

"I'm fine," I said as I tried to step away

Kenzo snatched me up in his arms. I squealed in surprise.

Then Kenzo set me back down on the rock. Beck sat next to me looking me over for other wounds, as Kenzo slid my shoe and sock off.

"Don't. I'm all sweaty." I said.

"Be quiet Opal." Kenzo ordered.

He sounds mad.. I didn't mean to ruin everyones time. Just my own, and maybe June's.

Kenzo looked over my ankle. It's already starting to swell.

You can see the bruise already forming as well.

"We need to get you to a doctor." Kenzo announced.

"I don't think a doctor is nice"

I stopped abruptly when Kenzos furious eyes snapped up to me. I gulped as I tightened my lips shut. I don't think I've ever seen Kenzo look so angry. "Beck, help her onto my back. I'll carry her down, and you can carry our bags." Kenzo ordered.

I kept my mouth shut as Beck helped me onto Kenzo's back. Kenzo gripped onto my thighs, and I wrapped myself around him. I looked at Beck, who just gave me a small smile.

Kenzo started walking. We walked together in silence for a few minutes. Eventually, I couldn't take it anymore. I turned my head to Beck.

"Where have you been?" I asked accusingly.

"Why? Did ya miss me darlin'?" He asked with a wink.

I frowned at him.

"No, but I could have used your help last night," I said.

"Oh, with what?" Beck asked.

"With the leeches that work for this company," I grumbled

Beck chuckled.

"The women were that bad were they?" He asked teasingly.

"One was." I muttered.

"Hmmm, and here I thought it was you I heard screaming Kenzo's name last night." Beck said casually.

My face heated as my eyes went wide. People really did hear us.. How many others heard?

"You heard us?" I asked Beck.

"Ahh, so it was you. I knew it." He said.

Kenzo turned to give him a bored look at that.

"Of course it was her, who else would it be?" He asked rhetorically.

Beck laughed

"Well, it seems that you handled things on your own Op." He said.

"Barely." I grumbled

"Barely?" Kenzo asked incredulously. "She pushed June over, and locked the two of us in the hot springs. While June banged on the door, Opal practically jumped me." He said "Says the guy who started the b**t stuff." I muttered.

"B**t stuff eh? Now I wish I would have stayed. Beck said chuckling.

"Where did you even go?" I asked.

Beck turned his attention ahead of him as a small smile fell on his lips.

"I went to visit some people." He told me.

"What people?" I asked.

"Is this interrogation?" He asked.

"N-no.." I said softly. "I didn't mean anything by it, I was just curious."

"Well, I grew up around here. So, I know a lot of the towns people. My grandparents live nearby as well. So, I went to see them for dinner yesterday." He told me.

I smiled as I rested my head on Kenzo.

"I didn't know you were from around here. It's very sweet you went to have dinner with your grandparents." I told him.

Beck shrugged

"I also have a surprise for you, darling." He said.

I furrowed my brow.

"A surprise?" I asked.

Beck smirked as he nodded my head.

"I went and seen an old friend of mine. He has a shop in town. I made us an appointment." He said.

An appointment? For what?

Kenzo stopped abruptly, and whipped his head towards his friend.

"What old friend?" Kenzo asked.

Beck's smirk deepened.

"Oh, you'll see."
