Cindy was a little frustrated, but lan, who had returned to his room, wasn't in a better state either.

As he furrowed his brows, he glanced at the phone that he threw on the bed earlier and noticed that his call with Logan was still connected. I have to give the man credit for waiting until now.

He went over and picked up the phone. "Logan."

Logan immediately replied, "You're back."

"Why were you waiting for me?" An amused lan questioned, "I thought you would hang up the phone."

"I just wanted to hear what was happening on your side, but I couldn't hear anything at all," Logan responded with boredom.

Ever since lan left the phone in his room, Logan naturally couldn't hear what was being said in the living room.

lan chuckled. "You really love to gossip."

After letting out a sigh, Logan replied, "There's nothing else in life that I can gossip about anymore, so I can live vicariously through you. What happened? Did something happen to your assistant? You seemed frightened when you threw the phone aside and ran out."

As he listened to him, lan furrowed his brows again. "It's nothing. She accidentally broke a cup of hot water and burned herself."

"How can you consider that as nothing?" Logan shouted on the other end of line, but he soon came back to his senses. "Do you really need to act tough in front of me? Seeing as how scared you were earlier, I can see that you were really concerned. We've known each other for so many years, so you don't need to hide anything from me. If you are really concerned about your assistant, you can just say it. There's nothing to be embarrassed about."

lan pressed his lips and didn't refute Logan's words.

It wasn't because he didn't want to. Instead, it was because he didn't know how or what to refute.

Given how painful it was to have been burned by hot water, lan was indeed frightened at that time, especially when he saw that Cindy's entire foot had reddened. Suddenly, there was an unpleasant feeling inside his heart.

After changing into his pajamas, he lay on the bed and changed the topic. "I have a few days off before joining the cast next month. I'm thinking of seeing you guys, so we should arrange somewhere to meet up."

Logan agreed and suggested, "You should bring your assistant with you. Sophia has always wanted to see her. Not to mention, all of us are extremely eager to meet this assistant of yours."

Since he didn't want to continue talking about Cindy, lan replied, "I'll see what I can do."
