No More Waiting, She Chooses Love -
Chapter 719
"Where did you bury that urn?" he suddenly asked, catching me off guard.
A faint smile appeared on Ernest's pale face. "Relax, I didn't mean anything by it."
He tried to sit up, wanting to get closer. I instinctively leaned in, and he whispered, "Remember, there's a tracker hidden in that urn. A lot of info from my phone is synced to it. If anything happens to me, use that tracker to call the cops." I was stunned. Such a big secret hidden in an urn.
And Yolande Clark was the one who gave it to me. So, did Yolande know too?
The thought of Yolande soured my mood. "Why didn't you have Yolande handle this?"
Ernest chuckled softly. "Jealous now?"
I snorted, and Ernest explained, "She and I are just comrades-in-arms, nothing romantic. Plus..."
He paused, catching his breath, "She doesn't know about the tracker. She's the one who filled the urn."
I was puzzled. "How did you manage to hide the tracker in there?"
"What do you think?" He had the audacity to quiz me.
I wasn't clueless. "You tampered with the urn?"
He laughed softly. "Smart. That's my girl."
He had finally admitted he was Ernest...
I'd waited so long for this, I bit him lightly, tasting a salty tang. I pressed my lips to his cheek, wordless.
The ambulance arrived soon after, and as Ernest was being loaded in, he murmured, "Don't worry, I'll be fine." Despite his assurance, my heart was in knots, and I called Dustin.
"Felicia..."
Without giving him a chance to speak, I accused, "It was you, wasn't it?"
"What?" He feigned ignorance.
"Phipps was attacked, nearly got hit by a car, and was beaten up. It was you," I confronted him directly.
Dustin was silent for a moment. "You think I did it?"
"What do you think?" I shot back.
"Felicia, I was out of line last night, and I apologize. As for Phipps, I owe him. He stopped me from making a grave mistake. Why would I harm
him?"
His words sounded sincere, offering an apology and clearing himself of any resentment towards Ernest.
I remained silent, and Dustin pressed, "Where is he now?"
"In the hospital, emergency room," I said, watching the lit room.
"Is he badly hurt?" he continued to play dumb.
Thinking of Ernest's sacrifice, I warned, "Dustin, if anything happens to him, I'll never forgive you."
After hanging up, I sat there, staring at the emergency room light.
Ernest had reassured me, but with all the blood and the beating, how could he be okay?
I waited anxiously, not for Ernest to emerge, but Dustin and Allen arrived instead.
They came one after the other, Dustin not even speaking to me before Allen showed up.
"Felicia, I didn't have anything to do with Phipps's situation. I'll prove it," Dustin insisted on his innocence.
Allen nodded slightly. "I'll have
people look into it. Anyone daring to
someone under
protection is crossing me.

Both were putting on a show, masters of deception.
As they performed, the emergency room doors opened. Ernest came out, but instead of the clothes ke'd wormin, he was now bare-chested.
And Ernest was being wheeled out, eyes closed.
