In the stillness of the night, a black Cayenne discreetly pulled into the underground parking lot of the
hotel where the film crew of Cloudwater City was staying..
The driver stopped the car. Catching sight of the resting Zachary in the rearview mirror, he informed, "Mr. Fuller, we've arrived." "Mm-hmm."
Zachary responded with his eyes closed, and then there was silence, as if he had fallen asleep.
The driver, overwhelmed by the strong scent of alcohol in the car, hesitated, unsure whether to continue reminding Zachary.
Two minutes had passed, and Zachary began to move in the back seat.
His eyes squinted into a slit, his hand randomly searching his body a couple of times. He then pulled out his phone from the inner pocket of his suit. After tapping on it a few times, a dial tone echoed from the device.
Quickly, the call was answered. The voice on the other end was tired but couldn't hide its surprise. "Zack?"
"I'm at the ground floor of your hotel,"
After Zachary sent over a bodyguard, Susanna realized that if Zachary no longer indulged her, she wouldn't be able to see Zachary at all if he didn't want to see her.
Her previous method was no longer effective. She had no choice but to pretend she was fine and continue filming, biding her time.
Unexpectedly, on the second day of joining the film crew, Zachary sought her out in the middle of the night.
Susanna was overjoyed, her fatigue instantly evaporating. "I'm coming down to see you right away!"
She quickly got up from her bed, intending to change her clothes. But then, as if struck by a sudden thought, she walked over to the mirror and studied herself carefully.
Her chest-length hair was messy, a clear sign of just waking up. Her eyes were still half-closed, her expression sleepy. She was clad in a floral strappy nightgown, the hem of which was quite short, reaching only to her thighs in teasing allure. After some thought, she applied a simple coat of lipstick to her lips. She rummaged through her wardrobe and put on a short jacket. Grabbing her room key, she beaded straight out the door. "Zack!"
In the quiet underground parking lot, Susanna's shout was particularly clear.
Zachary glanced outside through the car window before opening the door and stepping out.
"Why didn't you come up?" Susanna approached him, eyes alight with joy, yet she dared not get too close.

She bit her lower lip. "I thought you would never come to see me again... Zack, have you been drinking!"
Upon catching a strong whiff of alcohol from him, Susanna asked, "Would you like to come up for a cup of coffee? "There's no need to go up. I'm here to tell you something." Zachary leaned against the car door, his voice indifferent.
In the dimly lit underground parking lot, his expression was concealed within the shadows, obscure and indiscernible. Susanna's heart dropped as she softly asked, "What's the matter?"
"You should leave the country. I'll arrange for your journey abroad. Don't ever come back again."
Susanna's eyes suddenly widened. "Zack, what did you say?"
"I'll send you abroad, and you should never come back
"No-
Susanna vehemently shook her head in refusal, clutching Zachary's sleeve tightly. "Zachary, I don't want to go abroad again! I don't want to leave alone anymore. You don't know what I've been through all these years overseas! Every night, I would wake up from nightmares, unable to sleep night after night. I was terrified. Only when you're by my side, can I relax. Zachary, I can't leave you. I beg you, please don't push me away!"
Zachary's face was expressionless as he withdrew his sleeve from her grip, his brisk action reflecting his distance. "If that's the case, why did you insist on breaking up and leaving in the first place?"
"L... You've been so kind to me, but I'm sullied now. I'm not worthy of you, and I can't face you..." Susanna wiped her tears. "I was drowning in such thoughts for a while, but later I realized, I can't live without you. You've been so good to me. Surely, you wouldn't care about the things that happened to me. So, I want to start over with you!"
"Sadly, it's already too late. No one stays in the same place forever. I'm giving you two options. First, I can arrange for you to go abroad. Given the current public opinion brewing at home, this place is no longer conducive for your career. Overseas, you already have fan base, allowing you to continue your career as before."
Susanna shook her head. "I don't want this choice. I don't want to go. I don't want to leave you."
Zachary glanced at her. "So, you're choosing the second option? You can stay here, but going forward, we'd have nothing to do with each other. I'd replace the lead actress of Cloudwater City, revoke your endorsements, and withdraw all your privileges. Think carefully about these two options."
Susanna looked at Zachary in disbelief, momentarily at a loss for words.
to the domestic entertainment industry, talent didn't matter. It was all about connections.
Countless talented actors, due to their lack of connections, found themselves plateauing in their careers, unable to break free from minor roles. Meanwhile, lead roles were continuously being filled by attractive yet talentless individuals.

Even though the Carston family held a respectable position in Jacaster, Susanna understood clearly that her own father was nothing more than a useless man. He was only interested in galivanting all day and had a particular fondness for bragging and harbored an inflated ego. As for her uncle, despite his seemingly kind demeanor, he was in reality selfish and self-serving.
Without Zachary's support, she feared that her uncle might not even be willing to keep up appearances with her.
Thus, she couldn't afford to lose everything she had now.
Susanna looked at Zachary, her expression was one of feigned sorrow. A flicker of jealousy flashed in her eyes, quickly disappearing. Her fists clenched tightly, her fingernails digging into her palms.
"Zack, did you really need to do this? Do you despise me that much? Do you know that after your interview was aired, everyone started accusing me of being the other woman in your marriage..."
"Was that not your intention? Zachary glanced at her indifferently.
Susanna's expression froze. The words she was about to utter were stuck in her throat, unable to be voiced.
"You knew full well that I was married to Lenora, yet you repeatedly feigned illness to have me by your side. You took advantage of my guilt toward you, hurting Lenora time and again. Didn't you feel a shred of guilt in your heart?"
Zachary's voice turned cold as he spoke to Susanna. Yet, with every word he uttered, the loathing he felt for himself only intensified. He knew the truth all too well-the one who had hurt Lenora the most wasn't Susanna but him. He was the root of all her suffering; the real villain in this story.
Zachary looked at the stunned Susanna and let out a deep sigh. "Susanna," he said, "we should both move on and start our lives anew. What happened before was my fault. I shouldn't have given you hope, let alone indulged you. I can promise you a successful career but nothing more beyond that. It's time for you to make a choice."
"Zack, don't be so cruel..." Susanna said through her tears.
"If I were truly cruel, I would have left you to fend for yourself abroad!" Zachary said with a cold expression.
If he had been cruel to Susanna earlier, none of this would have happened.
Seeing
Susanna merely crying, not uttering a word, Zachary fell silent for a moment before speaking in a soft voice. "In that case, I'll make a choice for you. Someone will come tomorrow to take you to the airport. Make sure to pack your things in advance." With that, Zachary opened the car door and got in.
In a state of panic, Susanna reached out to grab him, tears gushing out from her eyes and streaming down her cheeks. "Wait! Zack, 111 do as you say. I'll go abroad and never come back. Can you give me a few days? At least let me say a proper goodbye to my parents and friends!"
"One week. Someone will take you to the airport after a week."
"Alright..." 3/4

departing unnoticed by anyone except Susanna,
Soon, the car came to a halt within the courtyard of Galaxy Bay
Leaning against the backseat, Zachary remained motionless. He said to the driver, "You can go back now."
""Yes, Mr. Fuller, you should rest early too."
After speaking, the driver opened the door and got out of the car.
Not long after the driver left, Zachary stepped out of the car. He leaned against the car door, lifting his gaze toward the master bedroom on the second floor.
It was pitch black.
She should be sound asleep by now.
The large bed she was laying on once bore traces of him.
Over the course of three years, they had shared many passionate nights on that large bed.
They too had once been blissfully in love.
However, he had destroyed all of that with his own hands, shattering their relationship into pieces.
Nothing was left but an empty shell.
Just like his heart, there was a piece missing.
Zachary pulled out a lighter from his pocket, along with a pack of cigarettes he had gotten from Michael. He pulled out a cigarette from the pack, clamped it between his lips, and lit the end with a lighter.
A harsh, pungent taste invaded his mouth, causing a sudden sting in his lungs. He quickly pulled out the cigarette, doubling over as he started to cough.
Once he had settled down, he positioned the cigarette back between his lips and exhaled a languid stream
of smoke.
