Not His Type Of Mate
Chapter 136

NORA'S POV

Watching him plead so desperately only made my anger grow. If only he had listened to me when I was begging so desperately then, we would have been fine by now, and we wouldn't have lost our baby that way. Remembering that I had to forget about all the dreams I had of my baby made my heart ache, and my anger rose. "I'm sorry, but I don't have anything to do with you anymore. Don't bother to look for me, don't bother to wait for me either because I'm no longer yours, and I no longer want you in my life," I said to him and turned to leave, but he shook his head, more tears rolling down his face.

"I won't leave you, Nora," he said, and I paused. I turned to look at him, and I was about to talk when he opened his mouth again, "If you need time, I will give you time. If you need space, I will give you all the space you need, but I can't leave you, Nora. You are my wife, and you will continue to be one." He said to me, and I groaned. I hated the fact that he kept calling me his wife.

I walked out of the room without saying a word and found my way back to the room I stayed before. I entered the room and met the maids arranging clothes on the bed. "What's this?" I asked, and the maids all bowed their heads. "Lord Leo asked us to get you some dresses, but we don't know your preference. So, we got a lot for you to choose from." They explained, and I sighed. Alpha Leo would never stop surprising me. I moved closer to the bed and picked one of the dresses. "I will choose this," I said to the maids and walked toward the bathroom.

I had a nice long bath before I came out of the bathroom. I got dressed and left the room, ready to leave the mansion as I had other places to go, and I knew it was time to go on my way. I got downstairs only to see Maddison and Alpha Leo waiting for me. I walked toward Alpha Leo and bowed. "Thank you for all you've done so far. Thank you for surprising me all the time, and thank you for the hospitality. I will appreciate it, and I'm forever grateful." It was my way of saying goodbye to him, and he knew it because his countenance changed, and he became very sad. He stared at me without saying a word for a while before he cleared his throat and sighed. "Live well and be fine. I will forever wish you well from here. You've been a good person too, and I'm glad to have met you." He said to me, and my tears welled up. Since I met him again, all he had done was help me, protect me, and even help with my happiness. He let me go when he realized there was someone else for me, and he never looked back, even though he hurt so much and had to suffer alone. He was such a nice person I was glad to have met.

I wanted to tell him how much more I was grateful, but I knew that would only prolong the matter and probably make him sadder than he already was, which was why I smiled and turned away from him. I faced Maddison, who was looking at me with pleading eyes. "I'm leaving," I said to him, and I saw his eyes waver. He was pushing back his tears. "Okay." He replied weakly. "I'm leaving now, and I don't want you to ever look for me. Don't send your men after me, and don't trail my movement. Don't try to track me down or monitor my life. I don't want you interfering in my life at all." I warned him, and he nodded. "I won't do any of that. I will give you as much space as you want and as much time as you need. I won't bother you at all." He said to me, and I rolled my eyes as I turned and left the mansion.

I boarded a taxi while still thinking of where to go until I remembered that I still had to get my things from Maddison's apartment in the Full Moon pack first before going back to his mansion to get my other things. I told the driver to take me to the apartment, and we were about to get there when I suddenly felt a pain in my belly. I ignored it at first, thinking it would stop with time, but it didn't stop even after a few minutes, and I groaned. "What's going on?" I asked inwardly, as I was finding it hard to deal with the pain silently. "What do you think it could be?" Lolita questioned worriedly, and I shook my head. "I have no idea what it is. I don't know, but..." I stopped as I suddenly remembered that I just lost a pregnancy, and it could be the reason. "I think it should be because of the miscarriage. It shouldn't be anything serious." I replied, and there was silence for a while before Lolita spoke up again, "Why do you have to speculate when you can just visit the hospital? You should quickly go for a check-up and see if anything is wrong then I can start the healing process. We can't take any risk even though you just suffered a miscarriage." Lolita advised, and I thought about it.

She was right; I needed to be even more careful, especially at a time when I had just suffered a miscarriage. Anything could be wrong with my body, and a solution needed to be found as soon as possible.

"Take me back to the nearest hospital, please," I said to the driver, who nodded and immediately turned back to take me to the hospital.

I kept feeling mild pain in my belly, but I made sure I did not let the driver know what was going on. We reached the hospital faster than I imagined, and I was glad. "We are here, Miss," the driver said to me, and I nodded. I already knew we were there, and I was already opening the door, but I appreciated him anyway and paid before leaving the cab. I entered the hospital, and thankfully, a nurse was coming my way, and she noticed the discomfort on my face. She hurried to me and asked, "Are you okay, ma'am?" I turned my head to look at the nurse and groaned. "I need a check-up. There is something wrong with me," I explained to her, and she frowned. "What do you mean, ma'am?" she asked, seemingly not understanding me or surprised by my choice of words, which I didn't care about. "I just lost a baby, and I think something is wrong again. I lost a baby few hours ago, but I had visited a hospital then," I explained to her, and her eyes widened. She suddenly grew warm as she looked at me, probably pitying me. "You should be resting in a bed by now. Why are you out here so soon?" she asked worriedly, and I shook my head. I knew she was right, but staying in bed wouldn't bring my baby back, and I had no time for that. "I don't want to. I don't have the time. I just want you to run a test on me and see if I'm alright. Leave everything else to me."

All I wanted was a check-up, not advice from her, and I was glad she understood me. She led me to a room where she asked me to sit down. "I'm coming. I should quickly get you a doctor who will treat you better," she said, and I replied with a nod. I watched her leave the room in a hurry, and a few minutes later, she was back with a doctor.

The doctor greeted me before asking me what happened, and I explained to him. I told him about the miscarriage, and he carried out some quick tests on me. He even did a blood test before he finally breathed a sigh of relief and looked at me. "Will you wait for the result or come back later for it?" he asked me, and I frowned. There was nowhere for me to go and wait. "I will wait, but please be fast with it. There is a lot I need to do today," I said to him, and he nodded before leaving the room.

I waited and waited for hours, expecting them to come, but none of them showed up. I knew it was the result that was taking too long to come out, and I was growing impatient. "What if it's a problem concerning your womb?" Lolita asked me, but I shook my head. There was no way something so horrible would happen to me. I was sure nothing bad would happen to me, but I was still restless. I lay in the bed, and before I knew it, I fell asleep.

I woke up to a tap on my shoulder later, and I saw the nurse and doctor standing in front of me.

"Miss, what did you say concerning your pregnancy?" the doctor asked, and I grunted. "I told you I lost it. I lost it a few hours ago," I explained again, feeling displeased with the doctor's insensitivity.

The doctor frowned and shook his head. "I don't think that's the case because the result here says that you are two months pregnant," he explained.

"That's not possible." I shook my head in disbelief.

"Then maybe we have to run a scan on you." He suggested and I gulped.
