Not His Type Of Mate
Chapter 188

Alpha Leo's POV

I was sitting in bed, playing a game on my phone as I was bored after being alone for hours, when I suddenly heard a knock on the door, and I frowned. "Who..." I was about to ask who was there when I perceived Ava's scent, and I immediately knew she was the one. I ended the game, switched my phone off, and laid back in bed, pretending as if I hadn't stood up at all. "Come in," I said, and the door opened. I was about to cover my head when Ava walked in and moved toward me.

I turned my head to look at her, and I was surprised when I saw her with a tray in hand, and from the aroma entering my nose, I needed no one to tell me that it was my breakfast. My stomach growled silently, and a smile secretly appeared on my face. I was glad to see her but refrained from showing it to her, and she smiled weakly at me before moving to the table beside my bed and dropped the tray. She was serving the food when I looked at her and sneered. "What are you doing here? Have you turned into a maid?" I asked, and she raised her head to look at me. "It's the work of maids to serve me breakfast. Did you sign up for a maid job here?" I asked, making sure my voice was as cold as it could be. I wanted her to feel my anger which I doubted still existed in my heart, but instead of feeling disappointed as I had expected, she smiled and returned to what she was doing. "I don't see anything wrong in serving my mate his breakfast... and I'm happy to be the one doing this," she said, and I frowned. "So, now you know you're my mate?" I asked, and I heard a loud sigh that came from her. "Can you just forgive me already? I know my sin already, and I'm very sorry." She apologized, as she had always done, and I rolled my eyes before looking away from her. Resting my two hands on the bed, I tried to sit up in bed while pretending that it was difficult. I continued to struggle, and she rushed over to me. She held my hand and tried to help me up, but I shoved her away and sat up myself. "Don't think I need your help," I said to her, and my eyes went to the food she placed on the table. The aroma was already making my stomach ache, and I couldn't wait to eat it while also wondering who made it. She followed my gaze and made an "O" sound. She spread the towel in her hand on my lap before returning to carry the food, and she placed it on my lap. She gave me the cutlery, and I instantly dug into the food. I took the first bite, and my eyes widened. I raised my head to look at her with many questions on my mind, but our eyes met, and I looked away without saying a word. However, I did not fail to see the soft smile on my face as she looked at me with curiosity in her eyes. "Is it good? Is it to your taste?" She asked, but I ignored her and continued eating the food without paying her attention. "I made it. I wanted to make something for you myself, so I did this," she said, and my eyes widened. I was surprised to know that she could cook so much. Like... The food was so yummy, it melted in my mouth the moment it entered it, and the ingredients seemed to blend well, creating a perfect work of a cook. It was simply perfect, and I loved it. I would have loved to praise her, but I knew I shouldn't, so I just shook my head and let out a deep breath. "You still have a lot to learn. The food isn't as tasty as it should be," I said, and I saw her face fall. It was obvious that she was disappointed, and it pained me a little.

"Leo..." Ethan called, and I raised a brow as a response. "Don't you think you're already going too far? This has been going on for days now, and we can see her sincerity already. Can't you just forgive her and put an end to all this?" Leo asked. I smiled and shook my head. "Do you think all that is real? A few more days now, and she will run away. She is only pretending, Ethan. You will see it very soon. She is not that sincere," I replied to him and nodded my head. Yes, That was how Ava was, and I was sure she was only pretending at the moment. "But Leo, I don't think this is right anymore. This plan is getting out of hand, and I'm no longer supporting it. Can't you see you are hurting her, and she is our mate, you still know this, right? Why can't you just let this go? You are being too stubborn, which is unlike you. You've changed a lot, and I'm still wondering what has gotten over you. Forgive her and let this end... Make her happy again... You..." Ethan continued scolding me until I lost my patience. I was frustrated, and I felt like punching the wall, but I held the anger in and grunted.

I looked at the food on my lap, but I had lost my appetite. Although it was so delicious that it felt like I could finish it and still ask for another plate, I had lost appetite in it because of Ethan's blabbering, and it annoyed me. I carried the food and placed it on the bed. "Take this away. I'm no longer eating," I said to Ava, who seemed surprised. "But, you've only eaten a few spoonfuls. Why are you not eating again?" She asked with confusion in her tone, but I only shook my head and pushed the food further away. "Take this away from me. I don't want to eat anymore."

I couldn't tell her I had lost my appetite, so all I could say was tell her I was no longer eating while I hoped she would understand without telling her that it wasn't her food's fault but something else that pissed me off. She bent down to carry the food from the bed and stopped when she was about to carry it. "Is the food that bad? Should I make it again, or make something else entirely? What do you want to eat?" She asked. I turned to look at her and groaned. "Can you please leave? I want to be alone for now, please." I said calmly, and she nodded. She carried the food, walked back to place it back on the tray, and she came back to remove the towel on my lap before she carried the tray and left the room without saying a word to me. I watched her leave the room, and I ran my fingers through my hair with frustration filling my entire being.

"You're being too harsh on her, Leo. You just sent her away without complimenting her food or making her understand why you could no longer eat her food. Why are you doing this to her when she is our mate? Do you not want a second chance mate? If you don't, you should let me know, so I can stop bothering you. I thought we both wanted a mate then, and that was why I was glad when we found one, but it seems that wasn't what you wanted," Ethan said to me disappointedly, and I rolled my eyes. He kept talking as if he had forgotten about what Ava did, and it annoyed me even more than anything else. "It was her fault; she caused all of this, and you knew it. She let her jealousy take control of her, and she messed things up. If only she had used her senses then and stopped her jealousy from taking over, it would have been fine, and by now, we would be living happily together here, but she caused this, and she should bear the brunt of it," I replied and hit the bed angrily. I was sad too, and I wasn't satisfied with everything that was happening. I had tried to sort things between us, and I had tried to make it work, thinking she loved me, but it turned out that she did, but her jealousy was more than her love.

While I was still arguing with Ethan, a knock came on the door, and I stopped the conversation. "Come in," I said after I realized it was Nora. The door opened, and Nora walked in. She walked toward me and sat down. "Hope you are okay?" She asked, and I nodded my head. "Are you guys leaving already?" I questioned, and she smiled. "No, we are still here for now," she replied and sat right down. "What have you been up to here?" She asked with a little frown on her face, and I sucked in a deep breath. "I'm tired, Nora. Sitting || in bed all day is very tiring," I lamented, and she groaned. "Then, why don't you stop this?" I shook my head. "I can't," I replied simply, and she made a questioning face.

Why?" She inquired. "You know the answer, Nora," I said, but she shook her head. "I don't think I do. What I know now is that you love Ava, but you are not ready to admit it. If you don't, you won't be doing all these. Why don't you stop and accept your woman?" She asked, and I couldn't say a word.
