After he had finished speaking, several other people stood up and surrounded Serenity, clearly trying to pressure her.

Serenity loaked around at her surroundings. She was in a semi–public place. The crew had rented a cafe for the shooting From where she stood, there was a surveillance camera to her left.

Since the crew had used the cafe as a filming laration, Serenity wondered if the surveillance camera was actually working.

Upon hearing about the incident, Clara said, “You should come back first. If they want to dispute, I’ll talk to them after this at the end of the day.”

Serenity had not turned on the speakerphone, so the people around did not hear what Clara had said.

“Sure,” Serenity responded. She then ended the call and put her phone away.

As she put her phone away, she quietly used her phone to record the following conversation.

“So? When will you pay us?” One of them, who seemed to be the leader, demanded

Serenity chuckled. “Did you know? 750 dollars is enough to be considered fraud. If proven guilty, you could be sentenced to less than three years in prison.”

The faces of the few people around Serenity changed. “What do you mean? Are you calling me a scammer?”

“Maybe we should speak with evidence. Look around. Many fans are hanging around with their phones up. Someone may have accidentally recorded the incident here. Also, we can’t be returning the money for the food to you. As for this lunch box, we can let the police handle this and be fair to everyone.”

The few people exchanged a glance. The leader then shot a fierce glare at Serenity as he warned her, “You’d better tell your boss to pay us. Otherwise, don’t even think about keeping this restaurant running in the future.”

“Is this a threat” Serenity asked in reply.

At this point, Serenity could tell that these people had planned to extort money from the very beginning.

“I’m just a part–time worker. There’s no need for you to threaten me. As for this lunch box, you can keep the evidence and make a police report. Also-”

Serenity paused, her gaze cold. “If you try to hurt our business and act maliciously, I’ll definitely take you to court. When that happens, it will cost more than 750 dollars.”

Serenity understood Clara’s financial status, Clara was not rich and needed maney to treat Yanny’s ears. Yanny would likely get cochlear implants for hearing in the future, Clara would have to spend money on training courses teaching her child to listen to sounds and speak.

When Serenity left the warning, she had already thought about going to Jackson for help if necessary.
