One Girl Two Mates
Chapter 9

DIEGO POV

I smiled, gazing out the window as I remembered the way my sweet Lili felt underneath me.

"Alpha?" I cleared my throat, trying to shake my thoughts as I turned my office chair to face my Gamma, Ryan.

"Hey Ryan, I have something I need you to do for me." I said.

"Sure Alpha, anything you need." He replied as he took the seat across from me.

"I'm going to tell you some things about our new Luna and I need your word that you won't say anything to anyone." I spoke, staring into his blue eyes.

"I understand, Alpha." He said honestly, I sighed as I tried to figure out where to start.

"Liliana is a white wolf." As I spoke I opened the ancient werewolf book to the page about white wolves. Ryan leaned forward with intrigue.

"As you can see a white wolf is extremely rare, only born every one hundred and fifty years." I pointed to the paragraph in the book.

"Born of vampire and werewolf royalty?" Ryan's eyebrows rose, his gaze meeting mine.

"Exactly, this is where you come in. I've done some research, but I need you to take over."

"What kind of research?" He asked as he picked up the book, rereading the paragraphs.

"I want to find her parents, so I made a list." I slid the paper over to him.

"These are the vampire and werewolf families it could possibly be." I continued.

"For the werewolf side it has to be the Caswell's." I pointed to the list of Caswell children.

"Because the Barclay's only have daughters and the Caswell's have four sons." Ryan said.

"Yes, unfortunately Felix and Edwin, the two oldest, are deceased. That doesn't rule them out, we just can't speak to them." Ryan nodded as he looked over the list.

"The vampire part will be harder. The Bellerose's have two daughters, Daria and Diana. The Driscoll's have three daughters, Claudia, Catherine, and Charlotte." He sighed as he leaned back in his chair.

"I'll do my research and have it back to you as soon as possible." He had already started making notes on the page I had given him.

"I have full faith in you and that you will do your research discreetly." I titled my head towards the window that overlooked the garden. My lovely mate stood next to my little sister surrounded by flowers and greenery. "Absolutely, Alpha." Ryan nodded as he stood from the chair.

"Thank you, Ryan." I smiled as he left my office. RYAN POV

I stared down at the paper in my hands. I'd already started scribbling some notes, things I knew off the top of my head. The Luna's parents had to have been eighteen years old to know they were mates, even if they were vampires. Vampires have their own version of mates called promised one or something like that. I briefly studied vampires my last year of high school, which was four years ago. The paper Alpha gave me had names and birthdays next to each of them. I circled Felix, Edwin, and Louis Caswell, since they were eighteen at the time the Luna was born. Daria Bellerose and the three Driscoll daughters were all over eighteen at the time, too. I decided to start with the Caswell's since I'm a werewolf. I'm more comfortable talking with my kind. I was still trying to figure out how I'll talk to the vampire women.

It was two PM when I finally reached the gates of the Caswell estate.

"Name your business." One of the giant warriors guarding the wrought iron gate, demanded. He looked like he could swallow me whole, but I wasn't afraid of him.

"I was hoping to speak with Louis Caswell." I replied calmly. I had decided to drive instead of running in my wolf form. The warrior that spoke shared a look with the other warrior.

"One moment." I watched his eyes glaze over indicating he was mindlinking someone, most likely Louis.

"He wants to know why." The warrior raised his brow.

"I'm doing a research paper on werewolf royalty." I lied smoothly. His eyes glazed over once more before he nodded at his fellow warrior. They opened the gates, allowing me access. I drove up the winding road to the mansion that I'm sure some people would call a castle. I exited my black BMW, clicking the button to locket, climbing the steps to the giant doors. An Omega man opened the door before I could knock. He was small and thin, but had a bright smile on his wrinkling face.

"Good afternoon, the prince is right this way." I followed him up one flight of stairs, stopping at a dark green colored door. When he opened the door I noticed it was an office. There was a man standing in front of a bookshelf, his back to me. I stepped inside the large office, the Omega closing the door behind me.

"A research paper, huh?" Louis' deep voice grumbled across the room.

"Yes, Your Highness." I replied as I slid my hands into my pockets.

"Just call me Louis, I hate that bullshit." He replied as he turned to face me. He was only around thirty six and werewolves age slower than humans. A human would probably think he was still in his twenties. His dark black hair was pushed back out of his face, his deep brown eyes looked me over.

"You know the fun thing about being a royal by blood is we get special abilities." He said as he stalked towards me.

"One of them means that I know when someone lies to me." He stopped, standing just four feet in front of me.

"I can't give you all the details on why I'm here, just a few questions." He eyed me suspiciously.

"I'll hear your questions, can't guarantee that I'll answer them." He lifted his glass of amber liquid and took a swig.

"Have you found your mate?" His eyebrows rose.

"Yes I have."

"Is she a vampire?" I watched as Louis nearly choked on his drink.

"Absolutely not." He sneered at the question.

"A filthy bloodsucker took my brother, Edwin from us, I would have rejected her immediately." He looked away from me, his eyes holding a deep sorrow.

"Do you know who your brothers mates were?"

"Felix never found his mate, Edwin did, but she took her life shortly after he was murdered." He gazed down into his drink.

"Was his mate a vampire?" Louis' head snapped up, his eyes filling with rage.

"Get the f**k out." I raised my hands and slowly backed away.

"I apologize, I didn't mean to disrespect you."

"GET OUT!" He roared as I reached for the door, quickly exiting. As I made my way towards the stairs I heard a noise.

"Psst." I looked up and saw a short woman with long black hair and deep brown eyes. She looked almost like a female version of Louis. I looked both ways before I approached the shadows that she stood in.

"I heard you talking to Louis, I'm sorry he's an a*****e." She rolled her eyes as we heard him shouting in his office.

"I'm Helena." She smiled sweetly.

"I overheard you talking to Louis and I know why you're here." I raised my brow at her.

"Why am I here?"

"You found her." Helena's eyes filled with tears.

"Who?" I looked at her wearily.

"Felix's daughter." I leaned in closer, double checking our surroundings.

"Tell me everything you know." I said lowly.

"I don't know much, just that Felix had a daughter with a vampire and my parents had him killed. They all say it was a car accident, but we all know. They executed him." My jaw nearly popped open at the bombshell she just dropped on me. "That's all I know, take this." She handed me a folded paper.

"It's my number, call for any more questions and if my niece ever wants to meet me." A few silent tears slipped down her cheeks. She gently shoved me towards the stairs, I slid the little paper into my pocket. I briskly ran down them and out the front door, straight to my car. I thrummed my fingers on the steering wheel. Felix Caswell is the Luna's father and he was executed? My hopes that her mother was alive were dwindling. I decided to head back to Dark Wood Pack. I'll approach the vampires tomorrow, first I'll have to figure out a plan to meet with them and not be murdered.

LILIANA POV

"And this is where we'll have your Luna ceremony." Valentina smiled as she gestured around the garden.

"My Luna ceremony?" I looked at her in shock.

"Yes Lili, you're mated to an Alpha." She chuckled at me and patted my arm. I only found my mate yesterday, my head felt like it was spinning. "Valetina, do you mind if I have a few minutes alone?" I looked at her with pleading eyes.

"Of course, but I won't be too far, okay." She looked at me with understanding in her eyes. I nodded as I walked over to the tree line. I sat under a large oak tree, my baby blue sundress fanned out around me. I couldn't believe that I was going to be a Luna. I was going to be in charge of a whole pack by my mates side. Does that mean I'll also be Luna in Rafael's pack? That's if he accepts me, my heart ached. He called me such vile things and then slept with another woman, making me cry myself to sleep. He thinks humans and vampires are beneath him. I feel certain he'll reject me, should I beat him to the punch? Reject him first? The pain would be the same either way. I was deep in thought when I heard a growl behind me. The stench of mildew filled my nostrils and I froze. There's a rogue in the woods behind me.
