~~~It took one look and forever lay out in front of me. One smile then I die, Only to be revived by you. There I was thought I had everything figured out. -Your Song (Julie Anne San Jose)-
"Uhuh?" She then seemed excited.
"I said I'm dating," I repeated. "But he's not here and I was the one who broke the vase. So, would that be okay for an answer?" I still had to lie to keep her from walking into my room.
"Well..." She chuckled at me. "I love that answer, Sam," she winked and I rolled my eyes. "I'll take it for now."
I took a deep breath when she walked back and sat on the couch again.
"How long have you been dating?" She was staring at me when she asked.
"Just a few days ago... uhm... or more," I shrugged.
She said nothing but her eyes were still on me.
"What? Why are you looking at me like that?" I couldn't help but ask as I started to feel awkward with the way she was looking at me.
"Nothing, I'm just happy for you,"
"Really?"
"Yup, and I can see how happy you are too. I guess whoever this man makes you happy and inspires you as it shows through your eyes. You're blooming, girl!"
"Tss! Blooming your face!" I said, trying to hide the blush that crept into my face. "So now that you already got your answer, would you please do the honor of leaving my room so I could start cleaning?"
But instead of doing what I said, she sat comfortably on the couch and it took another ten minutes before she finally decided to go out.
"Alright, I guess I should really go now before the man in your closet dies in suffocation."
"Huh!" I was left dumbfounded in my spot as she headed for the door.
-'How did she know that Luke is inside the closet?'-
"I'm going out, girl." She said laughing at my reaction.
"Wait! Hailey!" I called out before she could close the door.
"Yes?" She stopped and turned to me.
I immediately ran to the door and whispered...
"I'm actually dating back my ex-husband,"
"What?" She squealed, her forehead creased.
"I'm going to tell you everything, but I'm not yet ready for now."
"Ohh..." She said nodding. "I - I was surprised, I mean, what you said really surprised me and I really wanted to ask some questions, but..." she paused with a sigh. "But I'll just wait when you're ready to share it with me." She smiled, squeezing my hand. "Thanks, Hailey,"
"Hmm... don't mind it." She chuckled but then my smile vanished in the next word she said. "Good luck,"
"What?"
"You can now go back to your room before your ex-husband suffocates in your closet."
"Hailey!"
"Good luck!" She teased, then immediately opened the door to her flat before I could reach her.
"Haist!" I took a deep breath as soon as I closed the door behind me, but then I gasped the moment I closed my eyes as I felt a muscular arm wrapped around my waist.
Luke's grinning face was the first thing I saw when I opened my eyes. His other hand was flat on the door next to my head.
"So, you're dating back your ex-husband, huh?"
"Huh! Y-You heard it?" I gulped, trying to hide my face but his free hand took my chin and made me look at him.
"Thanks, Sam," He said the moment our eyes met.
And since I was expecting to hear teases from him like what I heard from Hailey earlier, I was surprised at what he uttered. My mouth dropped open as I stared right into his eyes.
"For what?" I asked, barely a whisper.
"For accepting me again,"
"Ahh... "I raised an eyebrow, pushing him lightly on the chest and freeing myself from his embrace.
"Oops, let me remind you, Mr.
ex-husband, that dating you again. doesn't mean I have already accepted you," I smirked, pulling him by the collar. "Huh! If what you said earlier was all true, then you will have to show it to me. And if it's true that you love me, then you should prove it. Are they too much to ask?"
Releasing his collar, I turned around to the living room but he was fast to hold my hand and in a split of a second, I was in his arms again.
"No, they're not too much to ask, sweetheart,"
Oh, how I wish to kiss those gorgeous blue eyes that staring at me at that moment, but of course, I swallowed the urge back.
"I love you, it's true and I'll do everything to prove it to you. I just hope you can wait for me this time,"
"Hmm... what do you mean by I could wait for you?" I asked, touching his face.
But he took my hand and brought it to his lips which made me hold my breath for a second due to the warmth coming out of his lips.
"I hope you can wait for me until I
have already proven myself and t promise to wait for you too unti you're ready to take me back and be with me for the rest of your life."
"Whoa!" I exclaimed, pretending to be surprised, even though deep inside I was slowly melting with excitement. "Isn't it too early for the proposal, sweetheart?" "Actually, it has been a decade late, sweetheart," he chuckled and pulled me into a hug as he kissed the top of my head.
"Then I hope you'll do your best this time, you know what I'm talking about, right?" I smiled as our conversation suddenly became serious.
"Yes, I won't make the same mistake, no, I won't make any mistakes and this time, I will do everything to get my family back." He then kissed me on the forehead.
At that moment, it wasn't just relief that overwhelmed me but happiness and excitement.
He helped clean the broken vase...
Ret
hmm... well, actually, he was the one who cleaned the floor. He didn't allow me to pick up even a single piece for the fear that I might cut my fingers. And even though it was a
little exaggerated, I followed him and let him do it because I thought that little-sweet- exaggerated thing doesn't happen every day.
We ended our date with a sweet and passionate kiss on the lips before we finally said goodnight that night.
