Jessie was the first to follow her nose. "What is that? It smells incredible," she said, eyes widening. Cynthia emerged from her tent, having contributed little to the day's efforts beyond eating and napping.
Jonathan had managed the simmering with careful attention, never leaving his post by the stove. He'd gone from being the center of attention to working alone.
Cynthia felt a strange mix of emotions. She knew she'd suggested chicken cacciatore to give Jonathan a hard time, but he'd gone ahead and made it, spending hours on it. She wondered, 'What was he trying to prove?'
The mouthwatering aroma drew everyone out. A crowd gathered around Jonathan's stove. "Jonathan, you're sharing this chicken cacciatore, right?" Cynthia said playfully, trying to act coy.
Ethan, standing nearby, was stunned. "Cynthia, Jonathan added seafood to this. I thought you were allergic."
Cynthia was also a bit surprised. "Jessie, are you really allergic to seafood? You ate so much yesterday. Are you okay now?"
Jessie replied, "I'm not allergic to all seafood, just shrimp." Jonathan glanced at Jessie after hearing this and said, "Jessie, there's definitely shrimps in here, be cautious."
Jessie could really eat a lot. Despite looking slim, she actually had a huge appetite. She took out a blister pack of pills from the pocket of her track pants with a serious look. "Jonathan, don't worry about me, I brought allergy medicine with me." Jessie stared longingly at the pot and said, "I'll take it with the allergy medicine, I promise it won't kill me." Jonathan felt speechless.
The live chat was buzzing.
[Who even brings allergy meds to a reality show? Cynthia is really going all out for just a bite.]
[The ice queen image is shattered; she's just a food lover.]
[Not just a foodie, more like a glutton. I think Jonathan's worried she'll eat it all by herself.]
Jonathan finally lifted the lid, releasing a rich, exotic fragrance that filled the air like a burst of invisible fireworks. Everyone inhaled sharply.
Alex smirked, "It's a real treat indeed." Nina stood next to him, her gaze fixed on Jonathan's back. She'd never known he could make this dish. It felt like a pang in her heart.
Ethan complimented sincerely, "I've had the real deal abroad, but it never smelled this good."
Jessie was already searching around. "Where's my fork?"
Abby, who had been lying low in her tent, was lured out by the aroma. Even she, who rarely had a big appetite, was tempted by the smell.
Cynthia wasn't usually into food, but Jonathan had spoiled her taste buds.
Because the pot was too hot to take out, Cynthia said, "I'll go pick some banana leaves.", She quickly gathered a few leaves, wrapped them around her hands as a makeshift oven mitt, and returned to the group. "I'll take care of it, you guys clear the table." The crowd dispersed. Some started tidying up the long table, while others gathered bowls and forks, eagerly awaiting tonight's feast.
Cynthia carried the pot towards the long table, which was provided by the show for the beach barbecue. Alex and Preston

had cleaned the table thoroughly.
Nina was already back by the tent. Alex noticed her and walked over in her direction. This spot was outside the camera's view. A sly grin appeared on Alex's lips. "Such tasty food, Nina. Aren't you tempted to try it?"
Nina had absolutely no appetite. She joined the show with high hopes, but every day challenged her understanding. "Alex, I'd like to be alone."
During the day, she acted the whole time with Alex as if they were a couple, but it was all for Jonathan to see. He didn't seem to care much. Today, he was entirely focused on figuring out how to make an authentic pot of chicken cacciatore.
Since the start of the show, Nina felt like Jonathan had somehow changed. Alex didn't leave. Instead, he turned and stood beside Nina. "I know you're feeling down, but I can cheer you up a bit."
Nina looked at Alex puzzled. "What do you mean?"
you think?"
Nina's expression suddenly changed. At first, she couldn't figure it out, but then something dawned on her. "Alex, what did you do?"
Alex said meaningfully, "Since you don't want to eat that stew, how about no one else eats it either? What do
Alex crossed his arms, and with his seductive eyes, he seemed like a charming rogue. He raised an eyebrow at Nina. "I just want to handle it for you, babe."
The casual "babe" made Nina frown deeply. But then something crossed her mind, and she quickly turned her head. Her gaze landed on Cynthia.
At this moment, Cynthia was just setting a pot of stew on the long table. But as soon as the pot touched the table, there was a loud crash and the table collapsed.
The pot in Cynthia's hands also fell with a thud onto the sand. There were some small stones under the table, and the bottom of the pot cracked upon impact, causing the food inside to spill out, with the sauce splattering everywhere.
Then there was a sharp scream that seemed to pierce the sky, drawing everyone's attention. Jonathan was only a few meters behind Cynthia. Hearing the scream, he dashed towards her direction.
Preston was there too, but he was a bit slower. The next moment, Cynthia was already in Jonathan's arms.
Jonathan held Cynthia as he ran towards the beach. His face was tense with concern as he kept asking, "Where did it burn you? Tell me, now."
"Jonathan, put me down!" Cynthia pounded on his shoulder. Jonathan didn't let her down. Soon, they arrived at the beach.
Jonathan knelt down on one knee while supporting Cynthia on his other leg. Then, he dipped both of Cynthia's legs into the seawater.
Cynthia really was burned. Her feet were red. The cold splash of the ocean brought her much relief. However, their position was quite intimate.
