The three of them raised their glasses and clinked them together, "Cheers."

After they sat down, Hector asked. "So, what's your relationship?

Naomi and Cynthia were sitting close together, Hearing the question, Naomi casually wrapped her arm around Cynthia and pulled her closer. "We're childhood friends, sweethearts since we were kids. She's the most important woman in my world. I'd give my life for her." Cynthia couldn't help but laugh: "I don't want your life, thank you."

Hector watched the two of them, their affectionate and natural demeanor, and a hint of confusion flashed in his eyes. Why is Cynthia so close to another man? Even if they are childhood friends? But they do seem to have a genuine and strong bond. Their closeness feels very natural, Hector thought.

A moment later, someone called for Naomi. She stood up, "You two chat. I need to go and greet some guests."

After Naomi left, Cynthia and Hector continued their conversation, chatting about this and that. Finally, Hector took a sip of his whisky and asked casually, "You're so close to Naomi. Isn't your fiance, who's known for being extremely jealous, going to get upset?" Cynthia had just taken a sip of her drink and nearly spat it out. She looked at Hector in shock. "What?"

"Jonathan is known for being jealous. Aren't you worried he'll flip out if he sees you like this?" Hector's tone was still light, but it was clear he was genuinely concerned as an old friend.

Cynthia's face showed genuine surprise. "Don't you know that Naomi is-"

Before the words "woman" could even leave her mouth, Cynthia's lips were roughly covered. She looked up to see that it was Naomi, who had just returned, pressing her hand firmly over Cynthia's mouth.

Naomi had come back from a social engagement and had just happened to overhear their conversation.

Seeing the two of them in such a position, Hector couldn't help but furrow his brow. He thought, 'No man could tolerate seeing his fiancée being that intilnate with someone else.

Thankfully, Jonathan hadn't seen this. Otherwise, Naomi would be in big trouble.

Naomi covered Cynthia's mouth and gave her a meaningful look. Cynthia immediately understood and blinked a few timest in response.

Naomi then released her and sat down next to her. Cynthia, with a warm smile, said, "Jonathan knows about my relationship with Naomi. He doesn't mind at all."

Hector nodded thoughtfully. "Mr. Bennett is quite magnanimous, then."

Naomi chimed in from the side, "What's there to mind? I raised this rose myself, and he took her away, pot and all. The one who should be minding is me."

Naomi turned to Cynthia and said, "If Jonathan ever treats you wrong, you just divorce him. My door is always open for

you.

Cynthia smiled sweetly, a rare expression on her face. "I know"

Hector finally pieced it together. Naomi and Cynthia were childhood friends, and Naomi had feelings for Cynthia, or at least once did. But it seemed that while Naomi was interested, Cynthia's affection was unreciprocated.

The three of them continued chatting for a long time. Mostly, Cynthia listened as Naomi and Hector talked about their childhood experiences, sharing funny and embarrassing stories, Cynthia had no idea that Hector had such a different side when he was younger.

She had always thought of him as a gentleman from the start, but she never imagined that he would recognize Naomi as his boss and be bullied by her for many years. Cynthia was also surprised to learn that Hector had a twin brother, Harvey. "One time, during the summer, we went wading in the stream. Since I couldn't tell them apart, I would pull down their pants to check... Naomi began.

Cynthia found the evening incredibly amusing. She learned many of Hector's secrets, but the most entertaining was that he had no clue Naomi was a woman. Despite being a psychologist skilled at reading people, he completely missed it. Later that night, Cynthia went to Jonathan's office and recounted the entire incident to him. Jonathan couldn't help but laugh out loud after hearing the story. 'Dr. Xenos is such a smart person, but it seems he can't see the forest for the trees," "He always thought Naomi was a boy when they were kids. Now with her style of dress and her personality, she looks every bit like a man. It's natural he wouldn't suspect anything," Jonathan explained.

Cynthia nodded; her face full of curiosity. "I'm really curious about what Dr. Xenos's reaction will be when he finds out his best friend of over twenty years is actually a woman." Cynthia's imagination ran wild, and she couldn't help but smile, it must be quite a sight.

Jonathan, sitting in his office chair, pulled Cynthia into his embrace. "But I'm curious, why doesn't Naomi want to tell Dr. Xenos about her true identity? What is she worried about?"
