Richard looked at her in horror.

Just when Maia was about to completely peel Richard's fingers off the ledge...

Out of the blue, slow claps were heard coming from behind her.

Maia turned her head subconsciously...and saw Eason pushing out a wheelchair with Cedrick seated in it.

Was.he not supposed to be in the emergency room?

How was he still alive?!

"Thank you for your wonderful performance, Miss Maia. What a cold-blooded show this was," said Catelyn as she looked at Maia with contempt in her eyes.

That woman was sick in the head. She did not even hesitate to kill the man who loved her with all his heart!

"You... You..." stammered Maia. Her face turned pale as she saw them.

She instinctively glanced at Richard, who was still hanging by the wall on the rooftop.

At first, she thought Richard had lied to her. Looking back at it, however, that did not seem to be the case at all.

It was Cedrick who deceived her. He must have planned it long ago!

Catelyn was probably in his ward all this while, and he might have already woken up hours before this.

It was all a trick, and they fell for it!

Maia immediately burst into tears as she gazed at Cedrick.

"This is all Richard's idea, Ceddy! I don't know anything! " whimpered Maia. "He just told me that he poisoned you, and I was so angry that I wanted to push him off the roof to avenge you!"
