Our Journey Back To Love -
Chapter 103
Chapter 103
The door didn’t close completely because Brian’s hand was blocking it. He forced it open.
Stella stepped back in fear.
He stood there as anger took over his face. He radiated an almost demonic hostility.
Stella’s eyes filled with tears of fear.
She took another step back.
He slowly moved forward.
Stella’s heart pounded in her chest, each beat echoing loudly in the midnight silence.
Stella couldn’t bear to look at him any longer. She turned and tried to run to the closet, but Brian grabbed her and threw her onto the nearby couch.
The couch was soft, so she wasn’t hurt, but the action still made her angry…
She sat up and yelled, “Brian, what the hell are you doing?”
“I stood up for you and you’re defending him?” Brian’s face was red with rage
Stella was frightened by the look in his eyes. Fearing he might hit her, she scrambled to the back of the couch and tried to run away.
But Brian caught her again.
He grabbed her as anger filled his eyes. His eyes almost seemed as if they could burn through her.
Tears streamed down her face as she screamed, “You’re crazy!”
“I’m crazy?” He grabbed her chin and stared into her eyes with a cold, unflinching gaze. “Carrie set you up
tonight, and I took care of her for you, then brought you back to tend to your injuries. You didn’t even thank me. Instead, you defended Bernard.”
With her chin in his grip, she cried even harder. “I wasn’t defending him. I was afraid you’d kill him in a fit
of rage.”
Brian paused, the anger in his eyes fading slightly. “Then why did you try to lock the door?”
“The look on your face when you came up here was terrifying. Who wouldn’t be afraid?”
She wasn’t protecting Bernard. She was grateful for Brian’s help earlier and didn’t want him to do
something he’d regret.
Brian’s gaze softened slightly. “Couldn’t you have explained that?”
“Would you have listened?” Her eyes were brimming with tears and her nose was red.
Brian frowned when he saw her tears. The anger in him began to fade.
He had lost control earlier.
His vaunted self–control had snapped when he thought Stella was protecting Bernard.
Brian withdrew his hand and looked at her.
He must’ve seemed like a demon in her eyes right now
Brian knitted his eyebrows just as his phone rang. It was Bernard.
“Brian! Don’t you dare touch her. She’s innocent. I’ve called the police. Don’t you lay a hand on her!” Bernard shouted through the phone.
Brian
glanced at the screen and laughed coldly. “Why would I ever hurt her?”
“What have you done to her?” Bernard demanded, his voice full of disbelief.
Brian’s annoyance flared at Bernard’s concern for Stella. He let out another chuckle. “I’m spoiling her in
bed, of course.”
With that, he grabbed Stella and kissed her fiercely.
Stella’s muffled protests could be heard through the phone, reaching Bernard’s ears.
Bernard froze in shock.
Brian had tossed the phone aside and wrapped his arms around Stella, pulling her onto his lap.
The phone screen showed that the call was still active
Brian did it on purpose. He wanted Bernard to know exactly what was happening between him and Stella..
Stella’s eyes widened in fear, but she couldn’t break free from Brian’s grip. She was forced to endure his
kiss.
The sounds traveled through the call and into Bernard’s ears.
Bernard clenched his fists, and his knuckles turned white. “Brian! Stop hurting her!”
“How do you know I’m hurting her? Maybe she consented, Brian drawled, his hold on Stella unyielding.” Tell him. Are you here by choice?”
Stella blushed furiously. She refused to speak.
