Chapter 93

“Hm?” Stella said.

“Wait for me. I’m going to the pharmacy across the road.” Yoel said.

“Sure”

Meanwhile, Brian’s expression soured. He asked from the other end of the call, ‘Are you with Yoel?”

“Yeah. She nodded.

Brian clutched his phone tighter. He wondered why the two were together at this hour. Was Yoel staying

the night?

His expression darkened. “Come over to me,” he said in an authoritative manner, which she detested.

Frowning, she replied. “Brian, I’m no longer your wife. You don’t have the right to order me around. Get al cab home if you’re drunk. I don’t have time to pick you up.”

Brian let out a cold, sarcastic chuckle, which left her feeling unsettled. She added, “By the way, stop

calling me over unimportant matters.”

“Let’s never see each other again.” With that, Brian hung up.

As her phone screen went dark, a wave of unexplained frustration rose in her chest.

“Stella.” Yoel had returned from his pharmacy trip. He handed a tube of cream to her. “This is for you.

“Why did you get this for me?”

“You’ve been limping all night. I assume you have blisters on your feet.” Yoel’s eyes were filled with

concern.

Taken aback, she smiled. “You could tell?”

“Yes. Do your feet hurt?”

“I walked too much, and I got two blisters on my feet. Stella did not tell him the truth because she did not want sympathy. In reality, she was suffering from six blisters.

He insisted that she accept the cream, “I bought it, so take it with you. Remember to apply the cream

when you’re home.”

“Thanks, Mr. Perkins. She accepted the tube of cream.

After that, Yoel’s secretary, Sandra Morrison, arrived in a car. She greeted the two of them, “Hi, Mr.

Perkins and Ms. Yates.”

Stella bid goodbye to Yoel. After returning to her studio, she applied the cream to her blisters. Then, she checked her bank account. She had received the payment for the bag sale–27 thousand dollars.

She needed another 273 thousand dollars.

She found the broken bracelet that she pestered Brian to buy for her, and it was the only jewelry item she

had left

She carefully examined the bracelet under the light before calling Yelena. “Yelena, can you sell a piece of jewelry for me?”

She wanted to sell the bracelet and gather three million dollars to clear the debts on Simon’s behalf. Besides, she’d rather not see the bracelet again, lest it reminded her of her past marriage.

Yelena asked with concem, “Stellie, are you short of money?” She had noticed something amiss with

Stella.

Coming

from a rich family, she nonetheless did not have much say in her family affairs because she was just a stepdaughter living with the huge Shaw family after her mother’s remarriage.

Stella lied because she did not want to trouble Yelena, No. I just wanted to get rid of Brian’s gift.

Upon learning that, Yelena readily agreed to help. “Sure I’ll get it arranged tomorrow!”

Stella laughed at Yelena’s enthusiasm. Yelena had always been good to her.

Soon, it was Saturday. Stella received a call in her studio at 7:00 pm. Since she was the only person left at

the studio, she went to the first floor and took the call. Hello?

“Stella, what’s wrong with you? Your studio delivered a torn dress to Jessica. Did you do it on purpose to

embarrass her at her party?”

Stella suddenly recalled that Jessica was hosting a birthday party that night.
