Owned By Her Triplet Bullies
(Bk 2) Chapter 2

Lexi's

POV

"Lexi, you are going to be late. Hurry up," Mum yelled from the living room. I buttoned up my white shirt and wore my shoes. I hadn't been given my uniform yet because I was a new student. I had to get to school and get the proper procedure done before I would be given my uniform.

"Lexi? Can't you hear me?" Mum called out again. I sighed, placing all my books in my backpack. I pulled up my hair into a bun. I heard the doorknob rattling.

"Lexi? Are you in there? Open up," she called out repeatedly. I walked towards the door and pulled it open.

"Are you okay? You weren't responding," she said worriedly, glancing all over my body. I shut the door behind me.

"I'm fine," I replied curtly. She let out a sigh of relief.

"What is this?" she asked, staring at me with a frown.

"What is what?" I inquired in surprise.

"It's your first day of school and you have zero make-up on. Your cheeks are pale and your lips are dry. Your hair is in a tangled mess. You should dress to the best of your abilities but instead you look sick," she fussed. I rolled my eyes and walked towards the dining table.

"Weren't you the one telling me to hurry up?" I inquired, picking up an apple.

"Yes but that doesn't mean you should look like this, right honey?" she asked my dad who was seated on the couch reading a newspaper.

"She looks amazing, honey. Let her be," he responded. I smiled widely. Mum scoffed.

"I knew you would take her side. You didn't even look at her," she said.

"I don't need to look at her to know she looks amazing. She always does," he replied, his gaze still fixated on the newspaper. Mum glanced at us in disbelief. I munched my apple with a shrug. I suddenly heard the sound of the school bus. "You aren't going anywhere until you fix your appearance," mum said firmly.

"But mum..." she cut me off by applying lipstick on my lips. When did she even get that?.

"Smack them together," she ordered, releasing my hair from its ponytail and running her fingers through it to untangle the knots. I stood stiffly till she finished. She packed my hair back into its ponytail.

"There you go. All done, you can go now," she said with a smile. The bus honked again, startling me. I dropped my half-eaten apple and gulped down a glass of water.

"Have fun and tell me all about it when you get back," she called out as I ran out of the house.

"Bye mum, bye dad," I called out.

"Bye honey," they both said simultaneously. The school bus stop was close to our house which was why I could hear its sound. I ran towards it as fast as I could and just when it was about to take off.

"Wait! Hold on!" I called out at the top of my voice. The doors opened and I got in panting hard. I glanced around but all the seats were occupied leaving me no other choice but to stand and hold onto the grab rails. The bus finally stopped and we all trooped out. And there it was in front of me. The place where all my dreams are going to finally come through. Crescent high school. I heard it was New Dawn high school before but its name was recently changed due to reasons I knew nothing about.

I held onto my backpack proceeding into the school building. It was beautiful. A blend of classical and contemporary style with sleek glass walls and marble columns. A sprawling entrance plaza with a banner on top where 'welcome to Crescent high school' was boldly written to welcome students, parents and visitors adorned with artistically designed sitting areas. My mind could not process all that I was seeing. It was simply too breathtaking. Students wearing their neatly ironed uniform walked past me. I knew if I continued to look around, I would definitely collect my uniform late thus attending my first class late. I didn't want that.

I climbed the grand staircase made from the most beautiful marbles gracefully ascending in sweeping curves. I took out my phone and used the school map for directions. It was so huge that I could get lost in it. I followed the map for a while till I finally located the place where uniforms were hung up.

"Good morning," I greeted the woman sitting in the office in front of a table politely. She was middle aged with graying black hair and eyes.

"Morning. How can I help you?" she inquired, staring at me through her thick glasses.

"My name is Lexi Jones and I was asked to get my uniform here immediately I arrived," I replied with a smile.

"Lexi Jones?" she mumbled, opening the thick pile of files in front of her. She glanced through them.

"Which school did you transfer from?" she asked. My smile faltered. The question took me by surprise. I stood silently. She stopped looking through the file and glanced at me.

"Didn't you hear me? Which school did you transfer from?" she asked again. I quickly regained my composure.

"I'm sorry. I didn't hear you the first time. I was homeschooled all my life because my parents never wanted me out of their sight," I replied with a small smile.

"What happened now? Why are you here?" she inquired.

"I'm here because I want to experience the true high school experience. I believe education shouldn't be all about learning, it should also be about gaining experience and communicating with my peers. Luckily for me, my parents agreed," I explained watching her expression carefully. "Good for you then. Have you filled out all the necessary forms?" she asked.

"I have," I nodded.

"Your uniform is on the shelf over there. Welcome to Crescent high school. I hope you get all the experience you want," she said looking back into her files.

"Thank you," I replied, picking up the uniform and heading out. I sighed and walked into another office with the help of the map of course to get my assigned locker and its key. After getting them, I headed downstairs to drop my backpack in my locker and get changed. I passed by lots of chattering students, they all seemed to be whispering excitedly and heading somewhere. In front of the lockers, I saw lots of girls standing and talking. They seemed to be waiting for someone. I couldn't make-out my locker due to the number of people waiting. It was a crowd. I curiously walked towards them.

"Excuse me, why is everyone waiting here? Are we receiving any outdoor classes?" I asked a group of four girls curiously. From the way they were dressed, I could tell they were from wealthy homes. They glanced at each other and chuckled. I wondered why. Did I say anything funny?.

"Outdoor classes? Do we look like nerds? What we are here for is much better than this school itself," the first one replied.

"Better and hotter. When I catch a glimpse of his face, I instantly feel rejuvenated," the second one fawned. I scoffed in disbelief. "You are all gathered here because of a boy?" I asked. Their smiley faces suddenly turned into glares making me take a step back.

"How dare you refer to him as a mere boy? He's my prince charming. I came to this school because of him," the third one said angrily.

"Calm down, don't get angry. You can see she's a newbie. She wouldn't understand what we are talking about. Apart from being out of this world handsome, he's also the Alpha's son. He's every girl's dream both far and wide. Don't you dare refer to him as a mere boy ever again," the fourth one scolded sternly. I stared at them baffled by their reactions.

"He's here!" the girl at the front screamed out.

"Is my make-up okay?" the first girl asked nervously. The rest of them nodded in response. They arranged their uniforms, hair and quickly put on cologne. All this for a dumb boy?. The doors suddenly opened and they all screamed excitedly pushing me behind. I staggered and held onto one of the lockers. I decided to see who they were all going so crazy over. It wouldn't hurt to take a peek. I pushed my way through the screaming crowd. The first thing I caught sight of was his tall figure.

I couldn't see his face due to the sun that was reflecting on him. I squinted my eyes slightly. My ears were beginning to hurt due to the screaming. He finally walked out of the light and I could see his face. I would agree with them. He was.....

My eyes widened in realization. "No. Please let this be a dream," I muttered, feeling my knees going weak.
