Owned By Her Triplet Bullies
(Bk 2) Chapter 60

Mason's

POV

I laid down in bed with my eyes closed. My head has been hurting since I woke up this morning. Probably due to the lack of sleep.

"I'm making coffee. Do you want a cup?" Torres asked.

"I'm good," I replied. Drinking or eating anything was the last thing on my mind right now. The doorbell suddenly rang.

"Who is it this time?" I heard Torres muttering as he walked to the door. "It's you, again," he said.

"Is Mason in?" I heard Rachel ask.

"He is," Torres replied. I groaned. I only wanted a moment of peace but it seemed like I wasn't going to get it soon.

"Mason? I heard you were sick!" she exclaimed worriedly as soon as she walked in.

"Calm down Rachel. You are over-exaggerating," Torres replied, he pulled the chair and the wheels screeched across the floor. I sighed and opened my eyes. "What are you doing here?" I asked.

"To check up on you of course," she replied.

"Shouldn't be treasure hunting or something?" I inquired.

"I didn't want to do anything till I confirmed you were alright. I came immediately Mady informed me," she responded.

"You spoke to Mady?" I asked in surprise. The last time I checked, she was still upset. More upset than I was.

"Are you surprised that she spoke to me? I already apologized to her and if you gave me the opportunity earlier, I would have apologized to you too," she explained sitting on the bed next to me. I sat upright leaning my head against the headboard. "I'm sorry. Are you still upset?" she asked with a pout. If that was her attempt at looking cute, it didn't suit her at all.

Torres cleared his throat drawing our attention to him. "Aren't you forgetting something?" he asked with a raised brow.

"How could I forget? I apologize for the way I spoke to you earlier Torres, I wasn't in my right frame of mind. You good now?" Rachel asked.

"That's better," he replied, scrolling through his phone and sipping his coffee.

"I will make you some soup. My mum made it for me anytime I got sick. It will work like magic," she said happily getting up on her feet.

"No, I don't..," before I could complete my statement, she had already made her way out of the room towards the kitchen.

"Seems like you've gotten yourself a wife," Torres muttered with a chuckle.

"Shut up," I retorted with a glare. He laughed out loud.

"Mason! Torres!" I suddenly heard Mady yelling out our names. Torres and I glanced at each other wondering what was going on. I quickly stood up from the bed just as Torres stood up from the chair. The door suddenly flung open and Mady ran in panting heavily like she ran a marathon.

"What's going on? Is something wrong?" I asked worriedly. She looked so anxious.

"It's Lexi. She's in trouble," she stated.

"Lexi? What trouble?" I asked hurriedly. My heart skipped a beat.

"She's in trouble and it's all my fault. I told her about the maze behind the hotel. I just said it for fun but she took it seriously and wanted to see it. I refused but she said she was only going to take a peek. I was so stupid. I should have refused..."

"Calm down Mady and tell us what really happened," Torres said, cutting her off. Her hair was a mess and she was prancing around in panic. She nodded and took a deep breath.

"She went into the maze while I wasn't looking. I didn't follow her in because I didn't know my way around and I also didn't want to get lost and render the both of us helpless," she explained.

"You made a good choice, Mady," Torres said.

"What's going on? I heard something about Lexi while I was in the kitchen," Rachel said, coming towards us.

"What do we do? Should we inform the teachers? That maze has been abandoned for a long time. Who knows what is going on in there as we speak," Mady said to me worriedly.

"We can't inform the teachers. She might get in trouble," I replied after thinking for a while.

"So what do we do? Should I call Uncle Xander? He will know what to do," she said.

"Take me to the maze," I muttered calmly.

"Of what use will you be there? I'm telling you she might be in danger..," she paused, her eyes widening in realization. "Y..you want to go in?" she stuttered.

"Hell no! You can't go in there, Mason. Let's tell the teachers. I'm sure they will bring her out," Rachel stated.

"What are you waiting for Mady? Take me there right now," I said with my voice slightly raised. She nodded in response and hurried out of the room, I followed after her.

"What about the soup? It's going to get cold," Rachel called out after me.

"Do I look like I'm in the mood for some f*****g soup?" I asked irately. Torres and I hurriedly followed behind Mady. We walked through different routes I never knew existed till we got to a secluded place and saw the huge Maze in front of us. "Wait here," I said to them as I headed inside.

"I will come along," Torres said.

"No, stay here with Mady. If I don't come out in the next thirty minutes, get Uncle Xander. Do you understand?" I inquired. They both nodded.

"Be safe," Mady muttered. I nodded in response. I switched on my phone light and headed in. I noticed some footmarks on the entrance. I followed it carefully till I got to a part where her footmarks led to different pathways. It was filled with so many cobwebs. She must have walked around that part several times.

"Lexi?" I called out continuously but the only response I got was the echoing of my voice. I've never felt so frustrated and scared at the same time. I wasn't even sure if I could find her. What if something had happened to her? What was I going to do? I willed myself to calm down. Closing my eyes, I listened closely for any sounds; suddenly, I heard one. The shuffling of leaves. I followed the sound slowly till I heard her low whimpers. "Lexi?" I called out again.

"M..mason? Is that you?" she asked, sounding surprised.

"It's me. I'm here now," I replied. Her voice was clearer now and I could figure out where she was. Soon enough, I saw her sitting on the floor. She looked up at me. "Mason," she whispered as she ran into my arms. Her face looked like she had cried a lot. Although I was surprised by her actions, I hugged her tighter.

"It's okay. You are safe now," I assured her, patting her hair lightly.

"How did you find me?" she muttered.

"It doesn't matter. All that matters now is that you are fine," I replied.

"Thank you. Thank you so much," she said as she tried to pull away but her lips unknowingly brushed my cheek. I stilled in surprise as her eyes widened. Her hands which were wrapped behind my back remained there. I could feel her warm breath on my face so I acted on my impulsive thoughts and crashed my lips against hers. Her lips felt plump and soft against mine. She hurriedly pulled away in shock like she was just burnt with hot coal.

I realized the gravity of what I'd done. I wasn't the type to lose control this way. It must have something to do with her rosy scent that was messing with my head or the heat from the maze. That must be it.

"That was uncouth of me. I don't know..."

She cut me off by placing her lips against mine and taking me by surprise. Her lips quivered slightly. I pressed my body intimately against hers, gently backing her towards the wall. My tongue swept across her lower lip and she entangled her fingers in my hair making me groan deep in my throat. This was better than I imagined. I've never felt this way before. She was the only one that had this effect on me.

"What are you doing to me? What are we doing?" I asked pulling away slightly for air. Her face was flushed, her lips red and swollen.

"Just shut up and kiss me. Don't ruin the moment," she replied with her eyes closed. I leaned in again, my hand gently caressing her back. She flinched.

"Don't touch me!" she exclaimed, pushing me away hurriedly.

"What's wrong? What happened all of a sudden?" I asked in shock.

"I want to go. Lead me towards the direction you came," she said without looking at me.

"I don't understand..."

"Right now! I don't want to stay here another minute," she screamed.

"Fine. I will lead you out, just calm down," I said walking ahead of her. She hurriedly followed behind me till we got out.

"Mason, Lexi. Thank the moon goddess that you are fine," Mady said, hugging Mady excitedly as soon as we came out.

"Are you alright?" Torres asked her.

"I'm fine. I just need to rest," she replied.

"Of course you need rest. Let's go," Mady said and they both walked away. She didn't even glance back once after all that happened between us. Her mood swings were the most confusing thing I had ever come across.
