Lexi's POV

I woke up the following day feeling energetic and refreshed. This was the first time in a long time since I slept without having any nightmares. I was fully aware of Mason laying beneath me. I opened my eyes and slowly raised my head to look up at him. He looked so peaceful with his eyes closed. I took a minute to appreciate his good looks. His long lashes curled and framed his face, some of his hair covered his face but his full eyebrows were still visible. How could a man look so...... beautiful? It was almost unbelievable. I slowly raised my hand with a smile to trace his nose and lips with it.

"What are you doing?" he asked, taking me by surprise. I quickly tried to retract my hands but he held it, fluttering his eyes open. Damn it, I've just been caught in the act. There was no way out now.

"You don't have to feel embarrassed. I'm all yours, so you can touch me whenever you want, however you want and wherever you want," he muttered. My face blushed bright red as I tried to get off him but he held onto my waist firmly. "We've been in this position since last night? Doesn't your body hurt?" I asked worriedly wondering if my weight wasn't affecting him.

"I'm perfectly fine. I feel better with you in my arms," he replied. I smiled shyly. He tried to lean in for a kiss but I moved backwards.

"I haven't brushed my teeth yet," I muttered.

"I don't mind," he replied leaning in again.

"But I do. Now let me go so I can clean up," I said gently, trying to get him off. He shook his head, caging me with his legs. I looked at him in surprise. He rolled me over till he was lying on top of me but he used his hands to support his weight. "Won't you change your mind?" he asked in a husky voice. I was surprised by his sudden change in demeanor. I gulped but I shook my head in response. He leaned towards me and my breath hitched, his face got closer till I shut my eyes. "You wanted to leave right? What are you waiting for?" he asked. I opened my eyes in confusion and he was smirking at me. He did that on purpose. I scoffed in disbelief and maneuvered my way out of the bed.

"Come back for breakfast," he said with a smile. I nodded, walking out of his room with a wide smile on my face. I opened the door and gently closed it behind me.

"Why are you coming out of Mason's room?" I heard someone ask. I turned around abruptly and I was met with the face of Ana, of course, she wouldn't be alone. Mia, Evelyn, and Carla were also with her. They all had a scowl on their faces. I should have looked around properly before coming out. I forgot Mason was no ordinary boy, he had fangirls who watched his every move like a hawk. But wasn't this too much? Stalking him so early in the morning.

"Didn't you hear us?" Carla asked, jolting me out of my reverie.

"I heard you but I don't think I'm obligated to answer. I can go wherever I want," I retorted. Evelyn suddenly gasped, taking us all by surprise.

"Oh my goodness!" she exclaimed, staring at me in disbelief.

"What is it?" they all asked her.

She pointed her finger at me accusingly. "Look, she's wearing Mason's hoodie." My heart skipped a bit. I had completely forgotten about that.

"Why are you coming out of his room and why are you wearing his jacket? Answer us quickly. You might have the right to go wherever you want, it's the least of our concerns but not when it comes to our Mason," Mia fumed. Our Mason? I thought in surprise. "Never," they all said loudly.

"It seems you are mistaken. This hoodie doesn't belong to Mason, I don't know if it used to but I got it from Mady's closet," I lied. If they found out that I was now dating Mason, the news would spread like wildfire throughout the entire school and I didn't want that. His fans would tear me to shreds. I was familiar with this type of situation.

"That explains it. I knew Mason would never give it to you willingly. You are nobody but that still leaves one question. Why are you coming out of his room? Mady isn't back yet, so I'm sure you didn't go to meet her," Ana replied. I heaved a quiet sigh of relief. They bought the first lie, it won't be difficult to make up a second believable one.

"I went to check for my phone thinking I left it there but it turned out, I left it with Mady," I responded. Their expressions were visibly relaxed. Was it that bad that I was dating him? Ana chuckled, and the rest followed till they all burst into laughter.

"What was I thinking? How silly of me. How could I think Mason would ever have anything to do with you? I can't see it happening, ever. Common girls, our breakfast might get cold," Anna said as they all walked away giggling. Mady wasn't back yet so I got a spare key from the receptionist which I used in opening the door. I walked into the bathroom to brush my teeth and take a shower but I saw my reflection on the mirror and stopped.

I gently touched my face with my hands. Were they perhaps right? Do I not deserve him? I can't believe that after everything I put him through, and after all I told him yesterday, he still embraced me in his arms and his feelings didn't change.

"No one is ever going to love you. Even your parents didn't. Who would want to associate themselves with a burden?" I shook my head to get rid of those memories. It was all their misconception. Mason saw me for who I truly was yesterday and his feelings towards me didn't change. As long as he believed in me, then all other opinions are completely pointless.

I brushed my teeth and took a shower. After that, I folded the hoodie Mason gave me neatly in my closet and wore my clothes. I hurried out of the room towards Mason fulfilling my promise to go back for breakfast. But, when I opened the door and walked in. I saw Rachel in the kitchen along with Mason. They both turned around.

"It's Lexi," Rachel said, waving at me slightly. Mason smiled and beckoned for me to come closer. I slowly walked towards them.

"Taste this. Is it nice?" he asked, stretching out the spoon towards me. I took a bite and it felt like different flavors exploded like fireworks into my mouth. It tasted amazing. I wondered where he learned how to cook. Even I couldn't cook this well. "Is it good?" he asked. I nodded in response.

"You have a little something here," he said trying to wipe my lips with his thumb but I quickly moved away.

"It's fine. I can wipe it off myself," I muttered grabbing some tissues.

"You are just too nice Mason, I'm sure she can do it herself. She's not short of hands," Rachel said with a smile.

He looked surprised by my actions but when he saw me glancing at Rachel, he seemed to have understood. The door suddenly opened. Mady and Torres both walked in.

"Where have you both been? I called you this morning but you wouldn't pick up," Mason said to her.

"We had to stop by a guest house due to the storm, I couldn't let Torres drive in that weather and a log also fell on the road. We came as soon as we could this morning," she explained. Torres and Mason stared at each other for a while before Torres broke the stare glancing around the room awkwardly and clearing his throat.

"I need a glass of water," he muttered walking towards the fridge. Mady stared at me in a way that I'd never seen her do before. She made her way towards me.

"Let's talk," she said grabbing my hand and pulling me into Mason's room. She shut the door while I stared at her curiously.

"Are you okay?" I inquired. She nodded in response.

"About what happened in the club. We haven't found time to talk about it. But, I thought we could talk about it now. What happened? I've never seen you look so terrified before," she said.

"Terrified? That's too exaggerated don't you think? I was just caught by surprise," I replied with a forced smile.

"How about Mason?" she asked skeptically.

"Why would you ask me about your brother? He's right out there," I responded feigning ignorance.

"Is something going on between you two? I noticed a lot of things but I didn't think that much about it until that incident at the club happened. He was super protective of you. Are you going out with him? Don't lie to me," she asked in a serious tone. I gulped. Even Mady figured it out. How was I going to get out of this situation?
