Owned By Her Triplet Bullies -
(Bk 2) Chapter 76
Lexi's
POV
How could I forget? He was a man too and was bound to feel jealous.
This was all Nick's fault. If he hadn't shown up, none of this would have happened. We wouldn't have had this misunderstanding. I hope his jaw was broken. Mason gently raised my head to meet his gaze. "When I touch you, I don't want you to flinch or feel scared of me. Can you do that?" he asked. Looking into those mesmerizing gray eyes, I would even agree to jump into the deepest part of hell. "Can you?" he asked again. I nodded in response.
"Words Lexi. I want you to say it," he said
"I will try," assured him. But I wasn't even sure if I could do it. I was still badly hurt from my last experience. But I was willing to let go of the past and be with him fully.
"I'm sorry," I muttered.
"For what?" he inquired with a frown.
"For all this. I'm sorry for being like this. You deserve a normal mate, not someone like me,
"I replied sadly.
"I don't want any other person. All I want is you," he replied. I nodded with a smile. Words like this assured me of his feelings for me.
"Don't you think we should go back outside? They might still be in the game," I said.
He shook his head. "I'm no longer interested."
I turned away from him and walked towards his desk. "Are you sure?
You seemed quite interested earlier. Everyone kept asking questions about you two," I said.
"Me and who?" he inquired curiously.
"You know who,
," I said, picking up a book and opening it, pretending to
read it.
"You mean Rachel?" he asked
"You two seem to have a lot of history. I heard some things earlier that I never knew of," I responded. I suddenly felt his arms around me and I panicked. My heart was beating at a very fast pace but when I caught a whiff of his scent, I immediately calmed down. 76: Letting everyone know
"Things like what? I doubt there's anything special to know," he muttered. If he noticed my reaction, he didn't mention it.
"You spent your childhood with her so I bet it's important. I never knew you liked ballet dancers. It's like I know nothing about you," I said. I knew next to nothing about him except what he told me about his family. Aside from that, I knew nothing else. What he liked, his dislikes, favorite food. These might all sound trivial but they mattered a great deal if we wanted to get to know ourselves better.
"All you have to do is ask. I will-be more than happy to respond," he replied. I smiled.
"But, is that jealousy I sense? You've never asked about Rachel in that tone before," he said.
I scoffed moving away from him. "What jealousy? What tone?" I asked like I was oblivious to what he was speaking of. Of course, I was jealous.
Anyone would be after listening to all she had to say earlier.
He chuckled. "Don't be jealous of Rachel. She should be the least of your worries. I've never thought of her in that way when we were kids and definitely not now." he assured me. I trusted him completely but I didn't trust Rachel, not one bit.
"I wish I could stay here forever but sadly we will have to leave soon. I don't want to leave,
"I said. It was funny how I didn't want to come for
this trip in the first place but now, I didn't want to leave again, all because of Mason. These past few weeks really changed my perspective about him and life in general.
"Me neither," he replied. I sighed. I wanted to ask him if he wasn't curious about what Nick was talking about earlier. But the door suddenly opened while I was deep in thought and Mady walked in.
Before I could realize it, she had already seen us and it was too late to move away. I tried to move away but Mason wouldn't let me.
"You looked upset. Are you okay?" she asked, glancing from me to him.
"I'm fine," he replied. I stood there awkwardly and I didn't meet Mady's gaze. Who knows what must be going through her mind?
"We are going for dinner at Uncle Xander's place. Be ready on time," she said and left. I was surprised she didn't say anything about us.
"Why would you do that?" I asked moving away from him.
"She's my sister. If not anyone else, she should know about us," he responded.
"You shouldn't have let her find out in that way. What do I do? She asked me if we were together but I didn't respond. What must she be thinking of me?" I asked worriedly.

"Relax, Mady won't mind. I will explain things to her later," he replied.
"No, she should hear it from me first. She's the only true friend I have and she trusts me. I don't want to betray her trust," I answered.
"Lexi..."
"I should go. I will see you later," I cut him off rushing out of the room. I slowly walked towards our room but I got there faster than expected. I opened the door, I didn't know what to expect or how she might react because I'd never been in this situation before. Would she yell, curse at me, or throw me out of her room?
I was expecting a lot but definitely not this. She was sitting quietly in front of the television munching on an apple. I glanced at the screen. and she was watching a crime series. I gulped.
"You know I always found this series interesting since I was a kid, especially the murder part. It's fascinating how everyone keeps looking for the killer but meanwhile, he's right in front of them. I find his smartness interesting. Don't you find it interesting?" she asked without taking her gaze from the screen.
"W..what?" I stuttered in shock. Why was she talking about murder all of a sudden?
"I
I guess you don't. Want some apples?" she inquired gesturing towards the plate on the table. Okay, this was getting weird, I had to explain myself before things got out of hand.
"I'm so sorry, Mady. It wasn't intentional."
"What exactly are you sorry for? For not telling me about Mason earlier or for the way I found out?" she asked cutting me off.
"Both. I didn't mean for it to happen this way," I replied. She decreased the volume of the television and turned her gaze towards me.
"Since when?" she asked.
"The maze," I muttered.
"I was right after all. Are you both a couple now?" she asked. I nodded in response and she sighed.
"Aren't you happy for us?" I inquired skeptically.
"It's much more complicated than that Lexi. Our family isn't any ordinary family and neither is Mason. He's been trained for the position of Alpha and my fathers would never settle for anything less
⚫than perfection. They only want him to find his mate and make his training complete," she explained. What Mason told me was true. She meant to say if I was any ordinary girl other than his mate, I wouldn't stand a chance.

"You are my friend and he's my brother. I don't want you both getting hurt in the end. But, I trust Mason and his decisions. If you both really love each other, we will see what happens. I'm not trying to be a sadist or anything, that's just the plain truth," she continued. I couldn't tell her that I was his mate yet. Mason would have to do it first. So, I only nodded in response.
"About the crime series, I was only joking. Lighten up," she chuckled. I forced a smile.
"You are also invited for the dinner. Get ready quickly," she said to me.
We both walked into our separate rooms to get ready. I wore a black fitted dress and pulled my hair into a ponytail. I applied light makeup and was ready in no time.
"Shall we?" Mady asked as soon as I stepped out.
"Of course," I replied. We both stepped out of the room and met Torres and Mason waiting outside. I smiled but it faltered when I caught sight of Rachel. She was there again. Doesn't she have anything to do aside from following Mason around?
"Don't worry about Rachel. Nothing is going on between them," she assured me. She seemed to have noticed how my mood changed. I gave Mason a disapproving glance and walked past them towards the car. I knew Mason was going to be driving because I heard them discussing it so I made a move to open the front door, ignoring the main four who were also present in the parking lot.
"I'm sitting there Lexi. I always sit at the front," Rachel said, stopping me. I turned towards her and everyone was watching us curiously.
"Can you move? You can sit at the back," she uttered.
"Babe, get in the car and let's go or we will be late," Mason said. I turned towards him in shock.
