Owned By Her Triplet Bullies -
(Bk 2) Chapter 80
Lexi's POV
The following morning, I woke up to the sunlight gently streaming down my face. Mason was like a drug I could never get used to. How is it possible that I'm only able to sleep when I'm in his arms? I can't remember the last time I slept this soundly without him by my side. I didn't even need my sleeping pills anymore. His phone rang and I stilled. He groaned and stood up to pick it up thinking I wasn't awake.
"Good morning father," he grumbled. He went totally silent for a very long time. I couldn't hear his father who was speaking over the line but I knew it couldn't be good. He walked towards the bathroom and walked in. I stood up and leaned against the bed. After a few minutes, he gently came out but he was surprised to see me awake.
"Who was it?" I asked skeptically hoping he would tell me the truth.
"It was one of my fathers," he replied honestly. That little truth really mattered to me a lot. It meant that even if it was something serious, he would never lie to me about it.
"My guess is it was the Alpha?" I inquired.
He nodded. "Right."
"He found out about us didn't he?" I asked rhetorically. I already knew he had found out. He was bound to after what happened at the parking lot. The main four must have spread the news to the whole park by now.
"And he is angry he had to hear it from someone else, not us directly," he added.
I sighed. "What do we do now?" He stared at me silently for a while and I knew there was something else.
"What?" I asked curiously.
"They want to see you immediately, we get back," he replied.
"Immediately? That's in two days," I said in surprise. It was still surprising that we would leave so soon. This place was my little cocoon of safety and I didn't want to but I had no choice, reality awaits. Despite the nerve that had to do with leaving and facing other people, I had to face the Alpha, his brothers, and the Luna too.
"Why is it too much? It's fine if it's too much pressure. I will tell them..."
"It's okay. I will go with you," I replied with a smile.
"Really? Are you sure? You don't have to feel pressured," he muttered.
"I'm your mate and this is going to happen a lot in the future given your status. I have to start getting used to it. And it's completely fine," I assured him. He sighed.
"I should go to my room and change before Mady and Torres come back," I said getting up from the bed.
"Will you come back soon?" he asked.
I nodded. "As soon as I can."
I left his room in a rush after fixing up my nightwear properly. I hoped I didn't meet those girls at the door again. I didn't want to deal with them right now. I slowly opened the door and stepped out but to my shock. "Well, well, well, look who is finally crawling out of Mason's room," Ana said spitefully. I stared at them in disbelief. Did they stay out here waiting for me? I ignored them trying to walk past them.
"There's no way you are doing that except you agree to our order first," Evelyn said, stepping in front of me.
"Order not a request?" I asked with a frown.
"Why would we request something from you? Do you know who we are?" Carla asked, staring at me with disgust. Was all this hate simply because I was with Mason? How many more of these occurrences are bound to occur? "We want you to reject Mason. The moon goddess must have made a mistake in choosing you as his mate. You are not good for him," Mia deadpanned.
I snickered. "That's the most absurd thing I've ever heard and I'm definitely not doing it," I retorted firmly. They glanced at each other before staring back at me angrily.
"You are going to regret this. He's going to get tired of you eventually. Looking at your plain neck, he hasn't marked you yet. Have you ever had s*x with him?" Ana asked curiously. I unknowingly placed my hand on my neck. "You haven't!" Mia exclaimed happily. They all chuckled.
"And you think he's going to stay with you like this? He's going to get bored and leave you eventually," Evelyn said with a wide smile on her face. Although what they said hurt me more than they will ever know especially after what happened last night I wasn't going to let them tramp all over me.
"You know what makes me feel contented, even if he does leave me in the end which I'm sure he won't, he will never end up with any of you. I can bet my life on that fact," I retorted with a smile. Their faces fell.
"Didn't you hear what he said? He introduced me as his mate, his half which means when he becomes the Alpha, I will be....you know what I mean right?" I asked. They glanced at each other in surprise with widened eyes. Didn't they think of that?
"You should be cozying up to me instead of threatening me. What if one day, I don't feel like seeing your faces in this pack anymore? I might exile you all if you make me angry. Then you will all turn to rogues. Your parents' money won't even be able to help you survive as a rogue. I give it two days, after that you might cease to exist," I said nonchalantly. They gasped, staring at me in horror.
"I'm not saying I would do that. All I'm saying is, watch your backs. It's a beautiful morning, isn't it? Have a lovely day," I said with a wide smile.
"You, how dare you..," I nudged my shoulder with theirs as I walked past them toward our room. I passed the little living room and headed straight into mine. I removed my clothes furiously and walked into the shower. I tried to forget their words but it kept on repeating in my head. I wondered if it was indeed true. He might like me but how long was he going to continue putting up with how I was? He might get tired eventually. I showered, got dressed and walked out of my room. "Well, well, well, look who is finally crawling out of Mason's room," Ana said spitefully. I stared at them in disbelief. Did they stay out here waiting for me? I ignored them trying to walk past them.
"Good morning," Mady said with a smile taking me by surprise.
"When did you get back?" I asked curiously.
"Last night. I was in my room but you didn't sleep here, did you?" she asked with a knowing smile.
I cleared my throat awkwardly. "Breakfast?" I asked, walking towards the kitchen. She laughed.
"I can't believe you are really Mason's mate. Why didn't you tell me?" she asked curiously.
"I'm sorry but we wanted to keep it between us before letting others know," I replied.
"It's okay. I'm so excited. Aside from being friends, we are family now. I wouldn't have wanted any other match for my brother. You two looked good together before but you both are perfect now," she said happily. I smiled in response. "I'm going to the market downtown to get some stuff for my mum. Do you want to come along?" she asked.
"Absolutely. It's better than staying cooped up in here all day," I responded.
"I doubt you will be alone though," she muttered walking towards the door.
"Mady stop teasing me," I whined. She laughed heartily.
"Come on, we will eat on the way. The car's right outside," she replied. We both walked out and got into the car. I stared out of the window as the car drove by. I've never been in this part of the pack before. The scenery was beautiful, hustling and bustling with people.
"Wait in the car. I will be right back," Mady said. I nodded and she left. I kept staring out of the window till I saw someone that looked like my dad. I quickly sat upright. What was he doing here? I got out of the car and tried to follow the man. "Miss, where are you going?" the driver asked.
"I will be right back," I replied hurriedly following the direction he went. Could I have been mistaken? I thought as I glanced around but couldn't find him anymore. I turned around to walk back to the car but it wasn't in sight. I walked back and forth but I couldn't find it. All I could see was a sea of people. I began to panic. I didn't have good memories of crowded places. The scene soon turned into another one. I saw a crying little girl glancing around the crowd of people frantically.
"Excuse me, sir, have you seen my mum?" she asked but the man shook his head. She continued to inquire as she cried but barely a few people responded.
That girl was me.
