Owned By Her Triplet Bullies
(Bk 2) Chapter 102

Lexi's POV

"From the way you speak about him, I can tell you are happy. I'm glad you have someone who can bring a smile to your face. If you are happy, then I'm happy. That's all I've ever wanted," he replied with a smile. "Thank you," I muttered. I felt at peace with myself. It felt as if a huge burden had been lifted off my shoulders. I glanced at my watch and it was starting to get late.

"But who have you been staying with?" he asked curiously.

"The night I left, I got into an accident..."

"What!" he exclaimed in shock, cutting me off.

"But I'm fine now. A kind couple saved me. I've been living with them ever since and they've been so nice to me," I explained.

"That's a relief. I should probably meet up with them and thank them for taking such good care of you," he replied.

"Of course. You can come over whenever you are ready. I'm sure they will be very happy to meet you. We should be on our way now. It's getting late," I said, getting up on my feet. "So soon? Aren't you staying over?" he asked.

I shook my head. "I need to be on my way now. But I will visit often." We walked out of the door together and Mason was waiting for me by the car. He quickly walked towards us. "Are you ready?" he asked. I nodded in response.

"Thank you for being there for my daughter. I hope you will continue looking out for her," he said.

"Without a doubt sir. Your daughter is part of my life now and I can't live without her," he responded, glancing at me with a smile. I felt my heart swell with happiness.

"Although I am sad you are leaving so soon, have a safe trip back," he said, hugging me. Mason and I both got into the car while I waved at him.

"How was it?" he asked me.

"It went better than I expected. I feel so much better already. You were right. This was indeed the closure I needed," I replied with a smile as he drove out. I caught sight of Mady sitting at the back with her eyes closed. "What's wrong Mady? Are you okay?" I asked curiously. She wasn't her usual chirpy self. She slowly opened her eyes.

"I'm fine," she assured me with a smile.

"You don't look fine. Is it because you haven't spoken to Torres?" I teased.

"I wish that was the case but I am curious about something though. What kind of a person is your step brother? Was he perhaps one of the people who treated you badly?" she inquired about moving closer to me. "Which of them?" I asked.

"The one with the deep hazel eyes, curly hair with lots of tattoos..."

"That's Nathan," I replied immediately. I could tell from the description alone.

"Yes, him. What kind of person is he?" she asked curiously.

"We weren't exactly on speaking terms. He didn't bully me but he didn't try to save me or comfort me either. He was always nonchalant. I didn't speak much to him so I'm not exactly sure what he's like. We were like two strangers living in the same house," I explained.
Lexi's POV

"From the way you speak about him, I can tell you are happy. I'm glad you have someone who can bring a smile to your face. If you are happy, then I'm happy. That's all I've ever wanted," he replied with a smile.

"Oh," she muttered. "Is he in college?"

I chuckled. "College? Nathan got kicked out in the first year because he got busted for dealing drugs. I think he's an underground fighter now..."

"What!" she screamed, cutting me off.

"Mady, you startled me. Why do you look so shocked? Do you know him?" Mason inquired.

"No, of course not. I was only curious about who Lexi has been living with," she hurriedly replied and leaned back in her chair.

"Can we make a quick stop somewhere? Let's buy some flowers on the way," I said to Mason.

"Sure," he replied without asking any questions. I loved the way he listened to me without being too inquisitive. I directed him till we got to the place. We both got out of the car.

"Let Mady be. She's probably tired," I said when he tried to call her. He agreed and we both walked towards the place with a bouquet in my hand.

"Why are we..."

"Say hi to my mum," I said, placing the flowers in front of her grave. He looked shocked for a moment so I spoke instead.

"Hi, mum. It's been a while since I visited, right? I'm sorry about that. But I did promise you that I would come with someone important on my next visit. Meet my mate Mason. He's handsome, isn't he? I ask myself sometimes how I got so lucky. Do you know how many times I've had to pursue girls who are constantly flocking around him? But he's been so sweet to me. He even brought you flowers. What are you waiting for? Won't you greet her?" I inquired turning towards him. He stared at the grave for a while without responding.

"Is it too weird for you? If it is, you don't have to..."

"Hello, mother-in-law. I trust you've been doing great. Lexi is just been humble. I'm the lucky one to have her by my side. You've raised such a wonderful daughter. You can rest assured that I'm going to take good care of her for the rest of my life," he said with a slight bow. I chuckled, my eyes tearing up.

"Mother-in-law?" I inquired.

He nodded. "Yes, you are going to have to marry me someday. You are stuck with me forever, there's no escaping," he said, taking hold of my hand.

"I would like that very much," I replied. We spoke to my mum a while longer before heading back to the car. Mady was fast asleep.

"I spoke to my mum about the surgery. She said we can come to her office anytime we want and she will introduce you to the doctor who will be in charge of the procedure," he said. My eyes widened in disbelief. "Really?" I asked.

"Yes, anytime you are ready. I promised you I was going to speak to her," he replied. I jumped into his arms out of ecstasy, not caring that he was driving.

"Thank you. Thank you," I chanted, placing kisses all over his face.

"You would want to stop before this changes to another thing. I'm currently driving," he replied.

"What if I want it to change?" I asked seductively.

"f**k Lexi," he swore.

"Can you both please stop?" I heard Mady groan.

"You are making up for this later," Mason said as I got off him. I giggled.

"Can we make another stop later? I need to get something very important," I said nervously anticipating the response I was going to get when I presented it later.

"Do you think they are going to be happy about it?" I asked anxiously, holding the papers in my hands. We were currently in front of my house.

"They will. As long as you are happy about it. Do whatever makes you happy," he assured me. I nodded and got out of the car.

"Call me later," he said.

"I will," I replied, watching them pull out of the driveway. I nodded and took a deep breath before heading inside. I slowly opened the door. I had barely stepped inside when I was met with their faces. "How did it go?" Mum asked curiously.

"Were you both waiting here for me?" I asked in surprise. They both nodded.

I sighed. "Have a seat," I took a seat and pointed to the couch in front of me. They glanced at each other before doing as I asked.

"Is something wrong? Did something happen?" Dad inquired. I brought out the files and placed them in front of them nervously.

"What is this?" Dad asked, picking it up in surprise. He glanced through it for a while without a word.

"What is it? You both are making me so tense," Mum said, taking the paper from his hands. Her eyes widened when she saw it. Why weren't they saying anything?

"Don't you like it? I'm sorry if this was a bad idea..."

"No dear. It's not, we are just trying to process what we are seeing. Honey, can you believe it?" mum sniffled. I brought them adoption papers. The thought occurred to me when Mason made a mistake with my name. I could see the hurt in their eyes and I figured it was time to make it official since they've taken care of me all this while.

"Will you sign it?" I asked hopefully.

"Of course, honey brings a pen quickly," Mum said. I chuckled when Dad hurriedly went to bring the pen and they both signed it.

"I was so scared you weren't going to come back again. That was why I didn't come along with you. I couldn't bear to see you leave us but it's official now. You are our daughter. We can finally call you Lexi Andrews. Thank you so much," mum cried. I walked towards them and sat between them.

"I should be thanking you for taking such good care of me. I'm only here today because of you," I replied as they both held me in their arms. Getting adopted by them didn't mean I loved my biological father any less. But, they deserved it. I've come to realize that a parent's love wasn't only shown to their biological child. They've shown me so much love and care. I was delighted with my decision.
