Getting out of the car, Sean Smith carried Cindy White in one arm to the twenty-first floor, while Gu Jinyan stared at Sean in shock.

“Sean, you bastard!”

“Why did you fool around in the bar, leaving your wife alone in the hotel?”

“I left my work to go drinking with you!”

Sean raised one of his eyebrows and gave Gu a glare, “Do you think it’s a good time to say that?”

There were only three of them in the elevator in total, and of course, Cindy heard what Gu said.

“Uncle Gu, what is fool around? Are there fools around us?”

Gu didn’t know how to reply, looking at Cindy’s clear eyes.

Before he could explain, Sean had frowned and patted Cindy’s head.

“Yeah, your uncle Gu is the fool around us.”

The elevator door opened and Sean went straight to the suite without giving Gu a chance to speak.

He entered the door, which was empty.

The bed was in disarray and it seemed like Amber White had just left.

Sean clenched his fists.

Maybe he should be glad that this woman wasn’t messing with other m=an in the room he’d opened.

“Daddy?”

“Come on, let’s get you home to your mother!”

“Sean, if you don’t know where your wife is, you tell us!”

“It’s nothing to be ashamed of anyway!”

Sean didn’t say anything and just went back to the car for his phone, intending to call Amber White again.

Scratching open the screen, he saw a missed call.

It was an unfamiliar number.

He didn’t think much of it and just dialed the number of Amber.

“Sorry, the subscriber you dialed is power off.”

Sean sneered.

Amber White must have woken up already, and she had deliberately left the baby with him so that she could fool around, right?

This woman didn’t even pretend and just turned off her phone?

Sean was livid.

“Daddy, Mommy will be home soon, she never comes home late, so we’ll just wait for her outside the house, okay?”

Waiting for Amber White?

Why, did he have to wait for her?

Because she left her daughter with him and went out to have fun on her own?

“Why should I waste my good night because of Amber White’s daughter?”

He really had underestimated Sean Smith before.

It was now nearly ten o’clock at night, and Sean ordered milk for Cindy just in case Amber White said he’d abused her daughter, nothing more.

At least that was what he thought.

The room had lights on and it had good soundproofing, so when the door was closed, no music could be heard inside.

There was no atmosphere of a bar at all.

In the meantime, Gu could not help laughing at Sean, “See, for the rookies, they only drink and hook up with girls at the bar, but for our Sean, oh yeah, milk’s the right choice for a man, huh?

“Remember to heat it up before serving…Oh my, hahaha…”

Sean rolled his eyes and pored Gu a glass, “Just drink your liquid and shut up.”

Gu didn’t drink and leaned back on the sofa.

With a little kid around, how much fun could this occasion be?

It was a better choice for him to just go back home and sleep.

In a few minutes, the waiter brought in a glass of milk and Sean handed it to Cindy to drink.

Cindy took a sip, and on the top of her cute little mouth appeared white mustache.

“Daddy, is Mommy coming over later?”

Sean sneered, “Your mom’s phone is off and I can’t reach her!”

“In my opinion, your mother doesn’t pick you up or answer the phone, so she probably doesn’t want you anymore.”

Cindy silenced at his words, and her eyes instantly turned red.

Sean’s face twitched a bit.

“Daddy, I want Mommy!”

“She said she was going to take me out tonight…”

Sean covered his face with both hands. What a troublemaker!

Cindy had been good and obedient with Amber White but not keep asking for her mommy like today!

It must have been Amber White who said something to Cindy White behind his back!

How else could this kid have acted so differently?

And it wasn’t that he wouldn’t take her to Amber White, it was that he didn’t know where that woman had run off to on her own!

He couldn’t do anything about it even if the little one cried!

Sean, distraught, took out the cigarette again and stood up, turning to Gu, “I’m having a cigarette, you find something to please her.”

Gu looked at him with his mouth agape, “What the…what do you mean please her? I’ve never been a father before! Are you expecting me to give her a lap dance?”

Sean didn’t even turn around and just left the room.

Gu sighed and turned back, while Cindy, with her small hands stirring the hem of her dress tightly, sobbing.

He reached out and patted her head carefully as if he was defusing a bomb.

Having sensed Gu’s kindness, Cindy looked up at him and asked, “Uncle, does Daddy hate me?”
