Presiden's wild wife -
Chapter85 His loneliness
As the interview finished, Kristin looked pleased and fixed her hair casually. Her assistant came over and whispered something in her ear, which made her look happier. She must be informed that the live interview was a success and helped her restore her popularity. Elena took out her phone and as she expected, Kristin was praised highly by many netizen on Twitter. But it was still too quick. She guessed Kristin's PR was really professional and knew exactly how to do their job to help her. Of course, Green Light Magazine also attracted a lot of attention.
Kristin seemed to take her assistant's advice and walked to Elena reluctantly, "Thank you for the interview. It helps me a lot considering my situation."
Elena smiled and said, "Please also forgive me for being too blunt earlier. Anyway, you also made the good decision to join the interview."
"Well, I'm smart." Kristin snorted. Suddenly, something seemed to flash into her mind and she asked, "I heard you knew Mr. Logan Brown and he even accepted your interview?"
Until now did Elena know why Kristin came to her and offered her gratitude. She had mixed feelings and said calmly, "We are not that close. That interview was just business." "Really?" Kristin looked at her in doubts.
Elena asked back, "Or what? Do you think we are close?"
"Close to you? That's impossible!" How could Logan be close to Elena? She was just a reporter. At the same time, Kristin also felt it was stupid of her to ask this question. "Well, forget about it."
Sophia saw Kristin's arrogance and asked, feeling confused, "Elena, why did you deny your relationship with my idol? You don't want others to know your marriage?"
"Why should I tell her?" Elena stared at her.
"Because if you did, she wouldn't have looked down upon you!"
"I knew it and that's exactly why I didn't want to tell her, "Elena put on a broader smile and stroked her head softly, "I won't rely on our marriage to earn others' respect. If I am so bored, I might as well write a sign and hang it on my neck."
"Oh, I see." Sophia nodded and explained, "Sorry about that. I didn't mean it. I just felt annoyed by Kristin's attitude and wanted to teach her a lesson. But you are right. I'm childish."
At this moment, Charlie came out and announced to everyone that he would hold a party tonight to celebrate the success!
"This success owes a lot to Group Two. So you must accept my invitation and have fun tonight!" Charlie stared at Elena and waited for her answer as if he knew she would decline. Elena noticed his persistence and received his invitation, "Well, I'm in."
Coral also nodded, "Since you invited us, how can we refuse it?"
Later Charlie took everyone out for lunch and invited them to enjoy themselves at the nightclub. Sophia got so excited and went to the dance floor directly.
While Charlie handed Elena a glass of juice, "It is so difficult to ask you out."
"Why do you want to ask me out?" Elena looked puzzled and didn't know what he wanted to do.
Charlie raised his eyebrow and said, "After all, Aria tortured you in my company. I think I owe you an apology."
"And you apologize to me by throwing a party for everyone? Well, you can just talk to me in private. Besides, what happened between Aria and me has nothing to do with you."
He shook his head, "Not really. I do want to celebrate." He smiled and added, "Do you really believe this party is just for an apology? I value my money."
Elena realized that she misunderstood him and blushed at once. "That's great."
Charlie laughed out, "Well, I take that as your acceptation of my apology."
Coral saw their were having a happy conversation and teased them, "Charlie, are you interested in Elena?"
Charlie waved his hand and denied it without hesitation, "Nonsense, Elena is married. Don't make this kind of joke. What's more, sexy beauty is really my type!"
Sexy beauty? His taste was so... Elena gave him a glance and stayed away from him.
Charlie looked hurt, "Even though you despise me, you don't need to stay so far away from me" Then he surrendered and added, "You two have fun here. I need to go out for a cigarette."
It was much quieter outside except some drunk guys were shouting crazily. Charlie lighted his cigarette at once.
Suddenly, his cellphone buzzed. He took it out and his face darkened as he knew who was calling.
"Mom," he said.
"Don't call me mom! What's going on with the live interview today? You have already disappointed us enough by running your magazine. And you just won't stop and have this live interview? What are you thinking? Don't you know you are disgracing us!" her voice was so sharp and harsh.
Charlie sighed deeply, "Mom, it's not what you think."
"Then tell me where I misunderstood! I'm telling you. You must come back and explain to your dad yourself tomorrow. Or I will never care about you anymore."
"When have you ever cared about me?" He asked in a hurt voice and he did feel hurt.
His attitude made her even more furious and she was screaming out on the other side. Charlie felt so upset and just hung up the phone without hesitation. Now the world was peaceful again.
But when he turned back, he saw Elena's embarrassment in a dilemma.
When did she come here? And how much had she heard?
Elena felt so awkward and explained, "Well, Charlie, sorry. I was just coming out and didn't meant to..."
