Purchased A Mr. Right
Chapter 731

"Let's talk to her about a picture together when we go upstairs later."

"Yes, yes, yes!"

Voices from the chattering crowds, bursting with excitement as they wrestled with one another to look up.

Emily and her cousin Selena looked at each other. There must be somebody famous in the salon for everyone had whipped out their phones as if they were hoping for a chance to take a picture.

Having worked with singers and film stars before during her brief tenure at the entertainment department, Emily hardly felt any enthusiasm especially as the maturity that came with her age had long caused he to leave behind what infatuation she once had for the craze of this sort. But a curious Selena had gone up to the crowd to find out about this mysterious VIP.

"A female!" answered a male hairstylist excitedly.

"Forget it!" Selena' s interest deflated the moment she heard that. Shrugging, she said, "I thought I might get an autograph if it was a male film star. But a female? Forget it!"

Emily shook her head with evident exasperation, "How old are you? You should have outgrown the habit of chasing movie stars already!"

Selena spread out her arms and said confidently, "This has nothing to do about age. Even old wives craze after young and attractive film stars these days!"

All right. You win! Emily decided to just simply shut up.

It was just a simple trim that hardly took long. But Selena's hairdo took a longer time. This was not helped by the fact that she trotted off to the bathroom halfway, only to vanish and Emily had to go look for her. The bathroom was on the second floor and to no surprise, there she was, leaning by the door and talking to her boyfriend on the phone when Emily finally found her. From her expression and gesticulation, Emily reckoned that Selena must be quarreling with him.

Selena caught sight of her coming up and sticking out a tongue like a little girl being caught in her mischief, she hastily ended the call.

No stranger to her shenanigans, Emily poked at her forehead sternly like how an elder sister would. "How are things with you and your boyfriend, Selena?"

"He said he wants to marry me!" said Selena, who, just a second ago, was sourly in a tiff with her beloved, and now as shy and embarrassed as a girl who had just received her first flower. She groped at her cell phone gingerly, "But I'm not sure if I should accept his proposal or not."

Emily couldn't help but chuckle. "You guys are still young, don't worry. You've just graduated and only just recently began working, maybe it's good to give your career a go for now. Especially for boys; they need to season a bit before they can start thinking about carrying the responsibilities of a family man. But if you' re both serious about it, you can start by bringing him to see Uncle and Aunt during New Year!" An abashed Selena quickly shook her head and grumbled, "All right, Sister. I'm not a kid now; I know what to do! Don't worry about me! Worry about yourself!"

"What's there for me to worry about?" Emily blinked her eyes with a puzzled look on her face.

"You and your husband, of course!" Selena blurted quickly.

Emily was surprised. "Us?"

"Yes, your agreement with him!" Selena took her arm quickly and shook it furiously like a worried little girl, "You had an agreement with him, remember? Four years! There's only one more month left, remember?"

Emily had told Selena the truth when the latter had discovered the truth about her engagement with Simon and she had chastised Selena for being silly! Emily was shocked.

She stood there, stunned and frozen, and the look in her eyes distant and blank.

She had completely forgotten about this. She had not realized how fast time had flown. The end of their four-year deal was at hand. The difficulties they had together during the earthquake had united them and amalgamated their relationship that the experiences they shared together tasted as sweet as a honeymoon to her, that even now, she could still reminisce the times they shared together with a smile.

Emily would have almost forgotten that this marriage was only a deal if not for Selena.

"So what are you going to do, Sis?" Selena pressed.

"What are you talking about?" Emily bit her lip.

"You're making me so worried" Selena stomped her feet and said, "Your agreement with your husband is coming to an end. Are you not worried at all?! Yes, the terms of your marriage might be different from most people, but you know he's good and nice and men like that don't come in huge supply. Are you really ready to say goodbye to him?"

Amused to see that her cousin was even more concerned than her, Emily asked, "What do you think I should do?"

"That's easy!" Selena suddenly winked at her and started to blabber with spit spraying all over, "Seal things before the die is cast! You know how much my parents like him and even I feel that he's the best you can ever find! Forget about the crap that you ensnare a man's heart through his stomach. If you want to keep your husband now, it's very simple. You only need to give him a child!"

A pair of red patches immediately emblazoned on Emily's cheeks.

Simon had long mentioned about this even during the earthquake. And since her agreement, he had repeatedly used the pretense of having a baby to make love to her again and again. The thought of this made her heart skip a beat again.

"All right now. You're just a kid and all you need to do is worry about you and your boyfriend and keep your head out of mine," said Emily, clearing her throat. She peered down and muttered shyly, "We'll deal with it ourselves."

Selene opened her mouth as if to protest, but Emily changed the subject, "Come on, your dye's getting too heavy. If you don't wash it off soon, your hair will look as dark as the ghost's in movies!" Sure enough, it really worked; Selena yelped and dragged her back downstairs quickly.

But right when they left the bathroom, one of the cubicles opened and a slender woman with long flowing hair reaching down beyond her shoulders came out, donning a pair of long boots that clicked whenever she walked. Her face looked so unworldly beautiful that hardly anyone could believe she was real.

She did not move to the sink. Instead, she stood there, motionless with an expression of shock and disbelief on her face as she grappled to comprehend what she had just overheard.

A clerk came in with a notebook and paper in her hand, eager to ask her for her autograph, but seeing her dazed and distracted, she drew closer nervously.

"Miss Swan, are you all right?"

Addy shook her head and life trickled back into her eyes, restoring vigor to them that only made them more ravishing and captivating. Her lips broke into a sweet smile that could almost make anyone weep, "I'm okay. I was only overexcited..."
