Purchased A Mr. Right
Chapter 735

She flipped it open and adroitly from inside, an innermost hidden layer that no one knew about, retrieved a photo. It showed both of them in high school uniforms; he holding a younger version of her in his arms, both of them so full of bliss and happiness.

Addy flipped the photo over and caressed the line of English words at its back: Love of my life. Her eyes went moist and her voice breaking. "It's here... It's here... After four years, he's still carrying it!" Emily peered at the photo. She discovered the secret in his wallet a long time ago too.

She had the same thought as Addy now.

The photo is still here!

Emily balled his fists anxiously, her fingernails digging deep into the flesh of her palms. Yet she felt no pain. If anything, she felt rather cold as if an icicle had burrowed deep into her. Cold and freezing. They knew each other since they were fifteen...

That was one moment they share that Emily could never nudge herself into.

She rested her hands on the keyboard, not typing anything. She could not. The monitor receded into the screen saver mode and the cube shape on the screen gradually warped into a ball amidst crisscrossing colorful lines. She lost focus all day. Even after going back to her office, she could not concentrate and in the end, she was even summoned to her boss's office for a scathing earful.

Tina poked her when she got back to her cubicle and asked, "What's wrong with you, Emily?"

"...Nothing!" Emily came back to her senses and shook her head.

"Are you okay? Do you need to go to the hospital?" Tina asked before breaking into an impish grin, "Almost forgot that your 'Bully' is a doctor. You don't need a hospital. You only need to go home and he'll look after you."

If she thought that would make Emily embarrassed, she was wrong. Instead of turning pink, her cheeks went ashen pale.

Realizing this, Tina asked concernedly, "What's going on, Emily?"

"I'm fine," Emily squeezed out a smile from the corners of her mouth. Then she glanced at the phone in Tina's hand. The screen showed a notification about a message just being delivered. That must be one o her blind dates. She couldn't help asking, "Is something going on between you and that blind date of yours, Tina?"

Tina's attention fell to her phone and she muttered, "I thought I might give him a chance."

"My parents like him. He's not rich or powerful, but he's okay. Not only he doesn't mind my being a single parent, but he also adores Isla too. I might marry him if we feel that it's right. I cannot let my parents worry anymore about me."

Emily was shocked to hear that. "But Wilson..." she gasped.

Tina shook her head and said before Emily could say something else, peering out the window at the sunset glow outside, "His wedding's coming soon. He could be Isla's biological father, but he'll have nothing to do with me."

"I see," Emily could only nod.

Tina picked up the folder in her hand and smiled, "It's almost time to get off work. Let's pack up and go home!"

Emily nodded and began riffling through her work hastily.

She got off her cab and walked into her apartment building holding a bag, then she saw the shiny black leather shoes sitting on the carpet at the door right after the door clicked shut behind her. She had been so engrossed in her thoughts that she did not notice the black Cayenne parked outside.

She changed into her slippers and Simon peeked out of their bedroom with a cigarette in his fingers. He peered at her with those amorous eyes of his with amusement, "Where have you been, Mrs. Chin? I've been waiting for you!"

Emily nodded blankly, "Traffic jam!"

Her lips trembled. She wanted to ask why was he waiting for her when she saw the luggage cases by his feet. Her heart sank and her face fell as she gasped, "You're...'

Simon was about to flick some ash into the ashtray when he paused upon noticing Emily's gaze. He frowned and explained, "Something important came up. A seminar that the director came personally to my office at the last minute to tell me about. He wanted me to go there. The flight's tonight. I fly in three hours."

"I see!" Emily nodded.

He exhaled a mouthful of smoke and looked at her. Then he teased, "What was that expression of yours just now? Were you thinking that I was going to elope with a certain someone?"

Truth be told, that really was the thought that flitted through her mind that one transitory second.

The image of the beautiful face of "that certain someone" appeared in her mind. Emily muttered dismally, "Not that it's impossible..."

"Really?" Simon uttered lazily, curling her lips. He stretched out an arm and took her into his chest and pinned her there, "If I'm eloping, it would be with you!"

With his arm constricting around her waist, she saw his clean- shaven chin, "How long would this trip be, Simon?"

Simon furrowed his brows and thought before saying, "About a half-month!"

A surprised Emily muttered without thinking, "So long..."

"You can't bear having me being so long away?"

Simon's grin spread all the way to his eyes, making him look even more wicked. With the cigarette still between his teeth, he drew near to her ear, and his voice, accompanied by the aroma of tobacco, assailed her senses, "Don't give me ideas. I would have taken you with me too!"

Emily looked up and he whisked her off her feet and they both fell into the bed just behind them.

Simon squashed his cigarette butt and tossed it into the trash can and laid on her. Emily thrust her arms to stop him, "Wait a minute, Bully! Don't you have to get to the airport?!"

"And it's all because of that, I'll need to have my fill of you before I go. Or I'd never be able to hold back my longing for you for so long!" Simon finished and the look in his eyes changed.

So this was what he referred to when he said he had been waiting for her!

She licked her lips and before she could say anything else, he kissed her full on the mouth like a voracious wolf.

She could never resist his advances. Every time, she would feel electrified by his charms and her hair strewn all around her pillow in a mess, the ends of every strand grazing on the skin of his shoulders and chest.

Before they even realized it, the twilight of dusk outside was gone and night befell over the city.

Emily laid on her bed. Her clothes were all in a messy heap on the floor. Red patches scattered all over her ivory shoulders peeking out of the blanket. She looked around languidly and found Simon buttoning his shirt.

When he was fully and neatly dressed, he came to her and bent down beside the bed and she felt his soft and thin lips landing on his shoulder.

The air was filled with the smell and hormones after their lovemaking. She winced deeper into the blanket and her eyes met his charming ones, finding them still stirring with emotions and a distant glow. He giggled deeply, "Wait for me, Mrs. Chin!"

Emily swallowed hard.

She stared at him wordlessly and dazed, whose charms from head to toe never failed to keep her mesmerized and suddenly she felt as if she barely knew him.
