Purchased A Mr. Right
Chapter 746

"How can you be late even when picking up a marriage certificate?"

Emily remembered that four years ago, when they went to get the marriage certificates, Simon muttered unhappily as he saw her. So, four years later, when they were going to divorce, she set an alarm clock to wake her up and waited at the entrance of the Civil Affairs Bureau early in the morning. At this time, none of the workers had come yet.

In fact, she woke up before the alarm went off. All night, she barely slept.

Four years ago, she was disappointed in love. Now, she would lose her marriage soon.

Emily shook her head and could not help laughing at herself. Taking the glass door as a mirror, she pressed the dark circles under her eyelids.

At precisely 8 a.m., the gate of the Civil Affairs Bureau was opened. One after another, the staff came to work. Then, there appeared Simon's black Cayenne, rushing over in the morning light. With a sharp braking sound, it stopped, leaving a long skid mark on the ground.

The door on the driver's side was opened, and Simon with upright posture jumped out of it.

Perhaps because he did not have a good rest last night either, his peach blossom eyes were bloodshot. He strode up the cement steps and his lips curled up when he saw her. "Oh, good of you to arrive on time!" He said, with heavy sarcasm.

Emily responded with a slight shrug.

"Have you brought the marriage certificate?" Simon, narrowing her eyes, asked her.

Emily nodded and said, "Well, I've taken all the necessary documents!"

But then, Simon stood still and gazed at her in silence like a dummy. After waiting for a long time, Emily could not help frowning and saying, "Simon, aren't we going in?" "Sure!" Simon answered, clenching his teeth.

He went inside abruptly. The wind from his quick motion blew her hair end up. From behind, Emily looked at him, pouting her mouth, and then hurriedly followed him in.

The staff took their documents and divorce agreements. After checking them one by one, he looked up at them, followed the procedure, and asked, "Mr. Chin and Miss Sam, have you decided to divorce?" Emily looked at Simon, who remained silent, and had to say, "Yes..."

"Clang!" "Clang!"

In the next second, there came two stamping sounds.

After putting a seal on each of the divorce certificates, the staff gave them the two certificates which were darker than the marriage certificates. Since many couples would come here to divorce every day, the staff had become desensitized to divorce. So, he just said in an emotionless voice, "All the formalities are completed. Your marriage is dissolved!"

Like the day she got married, Emily fell into a trance as if in a dream.

"Sizzle!" Simon pushed his chair back. As it rubbed against the ground, the chair let out a piercing sound. With sudden resolution, he took one of the divorced certificates and left with sudden resolution. Seeing this, Emily quickly picked the other certificate up and went out of the office after him.

In the lively light of the morning sun, she looked down at the divorce certificate. It took them less than 10 minutes to divorce. She did not expect it to be so easy to divorce.

When she came out of the Civil Affairs Bureau, Simon, who strode in front of her, had already gone down the last cement step. His tall and straight figure turned back. The rays of sunlight lit up half of his handsome face and left the other half in shadow.

From now on, they would go their separate ways.

After getting divorced, those women in the TV series might cry. Unlike them, she just raised the divorce certificate in her hand and said, "Now the staff in the bureau is getting more and more efficient. It's much faster to get a divorce than to get a marriage registration!"

Before they got their marriage certificates, the staff carefully asked them a series of questions. But when a couple agreed to divorce and signed the divorce agreement, the staff would not even try to talk them out of getting a divorce.

Simon snorted; he looked lazy and indifferent.

Emily shrugged and asked, pretending to be carefree, "Simon, since we're divorced, do you want to have a farewell dinner with me?"

"I have an operation to perform in the morning!" Simon squinted his peach blossom eyes.

"Oh!" Emily nodded. She just mentioned it casually and didn't really intend to have dinner. After putting the divorce certificate in her bag, she slowly continued, "I'll go to the hotel tonight, and for the time being, may have to leave some of my luggage at home. When I find a place to live in, I'll move all my things away!"

"There's no need to rush. I'll go to live in my dormitory. Before you find yourself a place to live, you live there!" said Simon, raising his brows.

At present, she really did not have a place to stay. She could stay in the hotel for one or two nights but could not live in the hotel for a long time. Emily wanted to refuse but accepted his offer in the end. "Then, thank you. I will move away as soon as possible!"

Her obviously polite tone displeased Simon, who only managed a weak smile as a response.

He strode to the Cayenne and opened the door of the passenger seat. "Get in. I'll send you by the way!"

"No, thanks..." Emily stood there, shook her head gently, and said, "Since we are divorced now, I'd better not bother you so much. It's very convenient to take the subway here!"

"Whatever you like!" Simon's face suddenly fell.

He slammed the door shut and walked past the car fast. Emily watched him get into the driver's seat and started the engine. From the open car window, she could only see one side of his handsome face. Somehow, she called him softly, "Simon!"

Simon's hands on the steering wheel froze all of a sudden.

His beautiful eyes looked sideways toward her. The morning sunshine enveloped her like a huge golden frame. Simon looked at her-she was so close to him now, but she was going to leave him and disappear from his life.

"Goodbye, Simon!"

After saying goodbye calmly, Emily carried her bag and walked out of the Civil Affairs Bureau.

She did not close her eyes until the black Cayenne passed by her and disappeared from her sight. She smiled with bitterness and a sense of release.

In the evening, the setting sun was as pretty as a picture.

With his hands on the marble edge of the window, Simon's eyes fixed on somewhere faraway. He seemed to be looking at the sunset glow, or something else. He had just come out of the operating room and did not even take off the surgical hat and mask. After finishing several operations as a head surgeon, he looked exhausted, his eyes redder.

His phone rang all of a sudden, and he subconsciously reached out to take it out.

When he saw the number on the screen, Simon's lips twitched into a smile of selfmockery.

Whose call was he expecting?

He picked it up and placed the phone next to his ear. When the person on the other end of the line finished speaking, he took off his mask and said, "I see. I'll go there now!" Hanging up the phone, Simon strode toward the elevator.

Five minutes later, he returned to the layer of cardiac surgery. The nurse waiting at the entrance of the senior ward respectfully called him "Dr. Chin". He nodded, pushed open the door, and went in.

The detecting instrument on the bedside was on, making some sounds from time to time. Meanwhile, the woman in a blue and white patient uniform was lying on the bed with her eyes closed. There was a respiratory mask on her mouth. She looked pale, but her facial features were still outstandingly beautiful. She was like a fairy.

Simon sat on a chair. As he saw that her eyelashes trembled for a while and her almond eyes then opened, he said in a low voice, "Addy, you finally woke up!"
