Purchased A Mr. Right
Chapter 758

A confused look appeared on Simon's face. "What day is it today?

"Your birthday!" Addy said directly.

"Really?" Simon was stunned and looked at the calendar next to him.

It was indeed his birthday. However, he had to arrange another operation for his grandma, who had to live in the hospital again. Besides, there were always so many operations to be performed. In the past few days, he was so busy that he forgot his birthday. In fact, for Simon, life had become tasteless since the divorce.

"Sure enough, I knew you forgot it!" Seeing that he looked a little sad, Addy immediately understood what was in his mind. After a brief pause, she hesitantly asked, "Simon, I think you've been in a bad mood recently. Do you want me to call classmates to celebrate it for you? Let's have fun, shall we?"

However, Simon's gaze moved away from the calendar and shook his head. "No!"

Hearing this, Addy did not say much and nodded. "Well, I'll go back first!"

"Mn." Simon gave her a faint smile as a response.

After Addy left, he was alone in the office, sitting on a chair with his tiptoes slightly pushing against the ground. He looked at the distant clouds in the sky through the windows, and his charming eyes gradually narrowed.

"Tock! Tock!"

Someone knocked on the table twice.

Emily turned her head in a daze and saw Tina shaking the thermos cup in her hand. "Emily, you've been blankly staring at the same place for almost 20 minutes! What are you thinking about?"

"Nothing!" She shook her head, turned her eyes back to the calendar on the computer, and murmured, "Today is the 16th day of..."

"Yes, and today is Tuesday. Is there anything special?" Tina looked puzzled.

Emily muttered, "No, it's just..."

"Just what?" Tina was still confused.

"..." Emily pursed her lips.

It was just his birthday!

Four years ago, his birthday was not long after they got their marriage certificates. Back then, she failed to celebrate it with him because she had to do an interview...

Noticing that she did not answer, Tina shrugged her shoulders and asked, "Emily, do you have time this Sunday?"

"Well, what's the matter?" Emily raised her head and asked

"You still remember what I said last time, don't you?" Tina paused for a moment and then went on, "If you're free on Sunday night, let's have a meal together with the man I met on a blind date! Please tell me if he is my Mr. Right!"

Emily nodded and said, "Okay!"

Tina smiled and urged her, "Don't sit there staring blankly! Hurry up and modify the draft. We'll be off work in another hour! If you don't finish it today, the chief editor will get angry again!"

They stopped chatting and focused their attention on their work.

After work, Emily returned home. She was the only one in the house. Her best friend, Wendy, was somewhere else and had not returned yet. She looked at the calendar on the chest of drawers by the window, lost in thought.

She was wondering if she should send me a message to wish Simon a happy birthday.

That day in the cafe, Boyd told her that Simon had done a lot of things to help her. Though it was a piece of cake for him to do such things for his ex-wife, she should thank him after all.

And even if they had divorced, it was not inappropriate for her to give her ex-husband a birthday blessing, was it?

Emily nestled down on the sofa, holding her cell phone tight. She typed "Happy Birthday" and deleted it, repeating the process many times. As she was considering whether to send it to Simon, her phone suddenly rang, and it was from Simon!

She was so shocked that she dropped her phone to the ground.

After picking it up, Emily breathed deeply and slowly placed the phone beside her ear. "Hello?"

From the phone came Simon's sonorous and calm voice. "Emily, today is my birthday!"

"Oh..." Emily pretended to be calm.

"Have you forgotten it?" Simon seemed to be a bit unhappy.

Emily did not answer. She just hesitated for a while before saying, "Then, happy birthday!"

After that, she heard Simon say, "I'd appreciate it more if you say it to my face!"

Emily frowned because she did not understand what he meant by saying that.

Simon hung up the phone directly while Emily, looking at the phone screen, was greatly puzzled. Suddenly, she heard a sound coming from the porch - someone was turning the key in the lock. Then, the security door was pulled open.

Emily's eyes widened in shock.

A tall and straight figure appeared in front of her eyes. It was Simon coming in with the key and a cigarette between his fingers. As he smoked, the cigarette smoke dispersed into the room.

With the sunlight coming through the windows, Simon standing among the clouds of smoke looked as gracious and charming as an immortal.

Emily jumped up from the sofa and pointed at him, saying. "Simon, you-"

She almost forgot that he also had the keys to this apartment!

Simon bent down and found the slippers he used to wear from the shoe cabinet with ease. After he put on them, he walked over with one hand in the pocket. Seeing that Emily kept her eyes wide open and stared at him, he raised her eyebrows and asked casually, "Don't you welcome me?"

"What are you doing here?!" Emily swallowed hard and asked nervously.

Simon did not answer her. Instead, with the cigarette in his mouth, he swaggered into the living room. Then, he walked to the bedroom, and the study on its opposite side, which was temporarily changed to a guest bedroom. Then, he checked the dining room, the kitchen, and even the bathroom.

Her amorous eyes glanced everywhere around this apartment and would not let go of any detail.

Emily followed behind him and asked with a frown, "Simon, what the hell are you looking for?"

"I want to see if any man is living here!" Simon put out the cigarette butt and threw it into a trash can. Then he smiled with satisfaction and said, "Great! There is none."

After hearing this, Emily was a little annoyed. "I live here with Wendy only. How can there be any man here?"

"Has Boyd been to here?" Simon's peach blossom eyes suddenly narrowed.

п

.." Emily pursed her lips.

Simo approached her, and there was deep emotion in his eyes on his handsome face. "Emily, I'm asking you! Have you ever invited him to come here?"

Subconsciously, Emily took half a step back and shook her head. "No!"

She and Boyd did not meet often. When they had to discuss something, they would meet outside. It was true that Boyd had sent her back twice, but he did not even get in the elevator of this building. After their divorce, Emily had been living with her best friend Wendy, who had just returned home. As for any man who had come here, it could only be Mr. Hogg and Larry!

Emily saw that he went to the water dispenser, took a paper cup, and naturally lowered his head to take the water.

Then, there came the voice of the flowing water, which made Emily feel a drumming in her temples. After taking a deep breath, she went over, intending to ask him to leave. "Simon, today is your birthday. I wish you a happy birthday and a long time! Now that I have already said the wishes to you, face to face, is it sincere enough? Can you leave now?"
