She might have been entirely bewitched by his eyes that showed open admiration. At that moment, her mind had gone blank, and she stopped struggling.

Emily, feeling his deep breathing on her face, felt the feebleness of her legs and her breathing became quick and uneven.

His delicate lips were about to be press against hers.

"Buzz, buzz, buzz-"

Unexpectedly, someone called Simon in this romantic moment.

As long as he moved forward a little further, Simon could kiss her, which he yearned day and night. However, his phone kept ringing. His Adam's apple rolled up and down. Finally, he decided to take his phone out and hang it up.

But when he saw that the call was from the hospital, he hesitated.

If it were anyone else's call, Simon could put his cell phone in silent and ignore it, but it was a call from the hospital and might determine the life and death of the patients under his charge. Therefore, he could only stop all his movements and let her go to pick it up.

"Hello," Simon answered the phone with a low and deep voice. Only at this time did Emily aware of what had happened.

She was wondering how she ended up in his arms.

As soon as Emily realized that she was expecting his kiss, she immediately felt extremely embarrassed. Emily felt too panicked and shy to face Simon. She quickly broke free from him, turned around, and ran out of the kitchen soon-she went straight to the bedroom.

Simon did not go after her because the nurse from the other end of the line said anxiously, "Dr. Chin, come to the hospital quickly. The blood pressure and heart rate of the patient in the ICU declined too fast. It's very urgent!"

Simon, who had seen Emily run away from his arms, said in a hoarse voice, "I see. I'll go now!"

Hanging up the phone, he walked out of the kitchen.

His beautiful eyes with some lingering passion narrowed a little as he saw the closed bedroom door. Finally, he took out the car keys and strode to the entrance.

It was not until the sound of the door closing came that Emily, who had her back against the door, slowly fell to the ground and covered her fast-beating heart.

Her best friend Wendy did not come back all night. Emily was sleepless because she always had a hunch that if she fell asleep at night, Simon would open the anti-theft door and walked in to kiss her... On Friday evening, Emily and Selena came to a fashionable barbecue restaurant near the TV station after work.

After graduation, Selena began her three months of internship and finally became an official employee. To celebrate it, she invited Emily to dinner. Since her boyfriend had to deal with some unfinished work in the company, there were only two of them.

When they sat down to order, Emily could not help taking out her cell phone twice to see if anyone called her. She was looking forward to Simon's call!

They were having an indoor barbecue. The waiter served many plates of pickled beef and streaky pork. One beef stick after another, Emily and Selena put the beef on the grill pan with a sizzle. Also, there were some clean lettuce leaves and perilla leaves next to them. They put the meat sticks and some sauce on the leaves and roll the leaves up to eat.

Emily liked barbecue, but perhaps because of the poor ventilation of this restaurant, she felt like vomiting and was quite uncomfortable when she smelled the odor of cooking oil.

Seeing her like this, Selena immediately asked with concern, "Are you alright?"

"I'm fine!" Emily said, shaking her head. She picked up the warm water beside her and took two sips. All of a sudden, she felt much better. But when she looked at the streaky pork on the plate again, she suddenly felt queasy. She could not help but stand up. "I'm going to the bathroom!"

When she was far away from the dining table, she gradually felt much better.

Emily did not take it too seriously and washed her face with cold water, thinking that there was no need to hurry since she was already in the bathroom. Thus, she turned around and went to the water closet. But when she unlocked the door and was ready to go out, she heard a female voice with evident excitement coming from outside.

"Miss Swan, I like your ballet performance very much. Could I have your autograph?"

When Emily heard this, her hand stopped on the door handle-she knew that Addy must be outside.

She thought it a little embarrassing to see her because of their relationship with Simon. Besides, she did not know what to say if she went out. Thus, she waited inside and planned to leave when Addy left. Just as she had expected, Addy's voice came through the door. "Thank you. Of course!"

"Where could I sign it?" Addy asked with a smile.

"Could I have two autographs?" The female fan was very excited and said, "Please sign one on this notebook and the other on this shirt. My roommates also like you very much. Last time when you performed in the big theater, we had stayed up late only to get the tickets!"

Through the gap of the door, Emily could see Addy's beautiful side face. "Well, please thank her for me!"

It seemed that the female fan really liked her very much. She had been very excited all the time and fixed her eyes on Addy as she was signing her autographs. Suddenly, she found something special and called out in a low voice, "Miss Swan, your diamond ring is so beautiful! May I ask who gave it to you?"

Addy was stunned for a moment, and then she also looked at her ring finger.

Under the light, the diamond looked particularly dazzling. With this ring, Addy appeared more bright and charming. She said, her almond-shaped eyes full of smiles. "It's from my boyfriend!"

"So, it's from your fiance!" The female fan inferred from what she said that Addy must have been engaged to her boyfriend. Through the narrow crack of the door, Emily saw the two figures walking out of the bathroom one after another. However, Emily's hands were still on the door handle and did not move.

In the night, a taxi drove in from the entrance of Riverside Court.

After closing the door, Selena suddenly pulled her arm and said, "Sis!"

Hearing this, Emily frowned and looked in the direction where Selena was looking at - a brown car parked at the building entrance. After seeing them, the handsome man walked down from the driver's seat. When Emily saw him, she asked in surprise, "Boyd? Why are you here?"
