Purchased A Mr. Right -
Chapter 772
Emily pulled out a chair. As soon as she sat down a bowl of soup was handed to her.
Because he considerately put a lid on it, the soup was still steaming slightly. Her bowl was also warm. She took the spoon and took a sip. Simon on the opposite side was doing the same. A brilliant shaft of sunlight burst through the window, roving through their side faces.
If they didn't divorce, she would have mistakenly thought that the good time was still rolling on.
After swallowing the soup in her mouth, Emily frowned and asked, "Simon, you won't stay here tonight, will you?"
However, he was holding the bowl while saying. "I can't let auntie and uncle down if they invite me!"
"What are you talking about?" Her aunt heard their whispers when she went to the kitchen to garb some fruits.
"Nothing important..."
As soon as Emily about to say something, she was interrupted by Simon, "Emily asked me whether I would stay here tonight!"
"Yes, that goes without saying!" Hearing this, her aunt immediately looked at her niece with some displeasure. "Emily, you want to go back to Ice city tomorrow morning, don't you? Simon can leave with you. I have asked him in the morning, he is off today and tomorrow!"
"..." Emily gritted her teeth. "You win!"
In the afternoon, the black Cayenne drove out of the old residential district.
Unlike a city, where they could see heavy traffic on the streets, huge crowds of people. The town was very quiet. The car was running smoothly. Emily pulled the seat belt on her body and kept gazing front. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Simon, put one hand on the wheel. A barely perceptible smile touched the corners of his mouth.
She was dragged out of the house by her cousin, Selena, to go shopping, who asked Simon to be their driver. However, halfway through, she suddenly said that she had to visit a high school classmate, so she jumped off the car and left.
Now, there were only the two of them in the car.
Emily touched her forehead helplessly. She
knew that her cousin did this on purpose. She just wanted to create an opportunity for the two of them to get back together.
Looking at the streets which were constantly receding in the rearview mirror, she sighed silently in her heart. Marriage was not like dating at all. Getting back together after divorce was not that easy. What's more, he got Addy.
After her cousin had slipped away, she definitely wouldn't go shopping, so she suggested going to Anthea's house.
After the brief gathering yesterday, she thought that Anthea could come her home for dinner. Unexpectedly, Anthea was missing all night. After making a phone call to confirm that Anthea was at home, she was bursting with impatience to find her. After all, they hadn't met for so many years, she had a lot to talk to Anthea.
They once lived in the same old alley. Later, the company distributed him an apartment, so they moved away. However, the Lee's had been living here for so many years.
The Cayenne drove a few hundred meters after turning right on the main road, then they ran into an army green jeep.
To avoid a collision on the narrow road, both of them slowed to a halt.
The coming car was not an ordinary jeep on the street, but a military one. When the car horn sounded, Simon, who was on the side, slightly raised her eyebrows and asked in surprise, "Brother?" Emily was taken aback by his words and looked up at him as well.
As the window was rolled down, on the driver's seat, Adam's virile features were exposed little by little. Wearing camouflage, even if only his upper part of his body was exposed, she could tell that he had a hard sinewy body. He was holding a lit cigarette, without any expression on his face.
Simon was surprised to see his big brother here. He couldn't help but ask, "Why are you here? Are you on another mission in a nearby town?"
Adam stayed in the army all year round. Except for the vacations, he must have had engaged in some important duties if he showed up somewhere else. He had come to this small town when he destroyed the black market of organs trafficking.
Because of Tina, they met Wilson more frequently than met Adam, who had limited time to spend with his family in these four years.
One thing she had to admit was that the men of the Chin family were favored by God.
Four years had passed and the three of them had not changed at all. They were still as handsome as usual. Even though Adam, the eldest son of the family, years only invested him the charm of a mature man Adam flicked the cigarette ashes out of the window. "No. I come here for some private matters."
"Private matters?" Simon was stunned.
"Yes." Adam nodded.
When Simon saw this, he asked, interested. "About what?"
Not only him, even Emily, who was sitting next to him, felt curious when she heard this.
She felt that Adam was a born soldier, always serious, dignified, and taciturn. There were few things that could move him except once in the restaurant. When Simon teased him that he wore military boots everywhere, a barely perceptible smile appeared on Adam's face as he said, "Someone tells me I am handsome in these boots..."
Adam glanced at his younger brother and blew a smoke ring. "I can't tell you!"
Then, he averted his gaze, slowly rolled up the car window, and drove away.
After the military jeep left, Simon's Cayenne also drove into the alley in turn. At the end of the alley, there was a multi-layered residential building. Emily motioned him to park here.
When she lowered her head and unfastened her seat belt, the car door next to her was quickly opened.
Simon had already come around by the front of the car. He draped his strong arm over the door. "I'll wait for you in the car!"
"No, I..." Emily shook her head.
Simon didn't wait for her to finish and closed the door. He had already walked back to the driver's seat. Then he took out the lighter and a carton of cigarettes from his pocket. Seeing this, she had to turn around and went to the door of the building.
The Lee's lived on the top floor. Just like her aunt's family, Anthea's parents were simple and honest people. Emily and Anthea had formed a lasting friendship since childhood. However, unlike her family background, Anthea was a girl of fortune hidden in the crowd.
She went in and said hello to her mother. Then she followed Anthea into the bedroom.
As soon as the door closed, Emily immediately squinted to question her. "Anthea, you didn't come back home last night! I can't get through to your cell phone. Your mother told me that you didn't come back!" After being asked by her, Anthea looked a little unnatural. "Ahem, last night, I had something to do..."
Maybe because she was afraid of being found out, she looked away and cleaned up the cluttered bed, but she accidentally dropped the bag. The things inside fell down, and there was a conspicuous red aluminium foil package among them.
