Chapter 572 The Plan

"Sir, I'm the one who broke through the north gate. I'm here already. You don't need to search for me anymore,” Rocky said as he approached the prefect of the Evian City. His expression was stone cold.

"Ahem!" the prefect coughed. He seemed to fear Rocky, hence the intentional cough. "There seems to be a misunderstanding, right?" The prefect smiled nervously in a feeble attempt to drop the matter. He didn't want to make matters worse. After all, he did see Rocky with the Crimson Dragon Token.

"Misunderstanding? Sir, the Evian City is about to fall into the hands of the enemy. Yet, you've asked your men to shut the gates, trapping the citizens inside. What do you want? If the army of the Timber Deity Empire had attacked the city, do you know how many innocent people would have been killed by them?" Rocky's eyes burned with intense fury.

The prefect grew sulky upon hearing Rocky's words. A moment of silence passed, as he had no retort to what Rocky said

Meanwhile, the other Commanders present were stunned. They couldn't believe Rocky was bold enough to question the decision of the prefect. The prefect was the leader of the city; everyone was meant to respect him. Save for the Commander in Chief and Deputy Commander in Chief, everyone in the Crimson Dragon Group including the Elite Commanders dared not offend him.

"Rocky Bai, quit being so arrogant. You are just a breeder of the logistics camp. How dare you be so rude to the prefect! You are courting death,” Flank reprimanded angrily. He had a good relationship with the prefect, so he rushed to defend him, even if it meant being rude to Rocky.

"A breeder? This man is just a breeder? But he showed..." The prefect trailed off in disbelief. He was utterly confused. If Rocky was just a breeder, then where did he get the Crimson Dragon Token? Could he have been fooled by Rocky? Was his Crimson Dragon Token a fake?

"Take him!" the prefect sullenly commanded without hesitation.

Immediately, a group of city guards rushed in and surrounded Rocky.

The Commanders were caught by surprise at the prefect's order to have Rocky subdued. They knew that if Rocky was arrested, they'd be in some trouble. After all, Rocky wouldn't have come here for no reason.

Witnessing everything that was happening, Sabina furrowed her brows, but didn't utter a word. Observing how calm Rocky was, she trusted he would be able to handle this.

On the other hand, a smile played on Sheridan's lips as he watched the fun unfold. He picked up the bottle of wine he brought with him and happily took a swig, not caring about the others.

"Sir, please don't act so hastily. Maybe this is just a misunderstanding.” Commander Wang hurried to mediate.

"What's there to misunderstand? This man used a fake Crimson Dragon Token to fool me. And he just destroyed the north gate of the city. Therefore, I suspect that he is a spy sent by the Timber Deity Empire. I need to have him taken back for interrogation,” said the prefect without missing a beat. Of course, he was completely unaware of Rocky's key role to Evian City. If he actually ended up taking Rocky away, he would only regret it.

"A fake Crimson Dragon Token?" Hearing this, everyone was confused. What in the world was the prefect talking about?

"Commander Wang, do you have something for me?" Rocky sneered smugly, turning to the Commander.

Commander Wang was taken aback at first, but then he recovered quickly and responded. He hurriedly took out the Crimson Dragon Token and handed it to Rocky.

Taking the Crimson Dragon Token, Rocky placed it in front of the prefect and asked, "Sir, open your eyes and have a look at this. Are you referring to this “fake’ Crimson Dragon Token?"

The prefect gasped. This was the exact same token he had seen last time. Moreover, it was Commander Wang who had handed it. Although he didn't know why Commander Wang had the token in the first place, he was sure this indeed was no fake. There was no way Rocky was trying to trick him. The prefect's face turned red as soon as he realized he was just making an absolute fool of himself. He had drawn the wrong conclusions from what Flank said.

Meanwhile, at the sight of the Crimson Dragon Token in Rocky's hand, Flank's jaw dropped in shock. How could he have possibly forgotten about the token?

"Well, this is all just a big misunderstanding. There was no harm done when you broke through the city gate. Now, I must take my leave. See you later.” The prefect hurried away in a feeble attempt to save face. He blamed Flank, as he had trusted him and believed that Rocky was just a breeder. Now that Rocky proved that he had the Crimson Dragon Token, the prefect had been humiliated in front of everyone.

Before he got far though, the prefect turned around to give Flank an angry glance. Flank, of course, never expected Rocky to ask Commander Wang for the Crimson Dragon Token, and was left at a loss for words.

Once the prefect had left, Rocky suddenly tossed the Crimson Dragon Token back to Commander Wang. He then strolled to Sabina and whispered something in her ear.

Listening carefully, Sabina was initially shocked at Rocky's words, but quickly nodded.

After having said his piece to Sabina, Rocky left the room without looking back, leaving the crowd stunned.

"Commander Sabina, what did Commander Rocky say to you just now?" Commander Wang asked Sabina with a raised eyebrow. Watching Rocky leave, Commander Wang glanced at the Crimson Dragon Token in his hand.

The other Commanders also looked at Sabina, curious to hear what Rocky whispered.

"He told us to not think about any plans anymore,” Sabina answered coldly.

"That naughty boy! He is trying to be mysterious again.” Sheridan tilted his head back and laughed. He still sat cross legged, looking very relaxed, unlike the rest of the Commanders who seemed to be very anxious.

"What's that supposed to mean?" The Commanders looked to Sabina for answers.

"Rocky has already made a plan for tomorrow. I will explain the plan to all of you,” Sabina declared proudly.

All the Commanders were stunned. Didn't Rocky initially say he didn't want to issue orders regarding the defenses of Evian City? Why did he suddenly strategize an operation now?
