Chapter 760 Difficult Questions

A slack-jawed Harry could only stare at Rocky because he knew Rocky was completely correct. The spirit-manipulated beast's spleen and stomach were weak to the cold, especially at night. Its inner organs would feel extremely cold. Thus, it had to work harder to breathe at night which caused it to snore.

Even Mary was stunned when she heard Rocky took his sow as an example and managed to guess the correct answer. When she nodded towards Harry to signal him to continue the exam, her face grew dark because she didn't believe that Rocky could answer correctly again.

"Do you know what causes spirit-manipulated beasts to tremble and feebly limp? There are normally three possible causes. You need to tell me at least one.” Harry continued the interview. "That seems difficult...” Embarrassment stole over Rocky's face as he shook his head and carded his fingers through his hair.

On the other hand, Mary's face crumpled into a sneer. It wasn't a difficult question but without frequent contact with spirit-manipulated beasts, it was impossible to answer. She heard from Willie that Rocky had only been working at the beast farm for less than ten days; therefore, it was impossible for him to know much about spirit-manipulated beasts.

Other interviewees around the interview area also whispered to each other as they tried to guess the answer but obviously, not one of them had the answer.

A few more quiet moments passed before Mary sniffed in disdain, "If you can't answer the question, then get out of here now. Don't make a fool of yourselft”

Rocky clapped his hands and laughed to himself as if he remembered something amusing. He answered, "By the way, my sow had difficult labor two months ago. The piglets were so pitiful! They went to heaven before they could even be born! Before the sow gave birth, it trembled and its limbs were feeble. As a result, it was difficult for her to give birth. Is it possible that spirit-manipulated beasts will shiver and lose their strength too when they're having difficult labor?"

Several people in the crowd burst into laughter when they heard Rocky's reply. However, the judges, including Mary and Harry and other beast curers, were frozen in shock because it truly was one of the three reasons. In general, strong and powerful spirit-manipulated beasts wouldn't shiver or suffer feeble limbs. If it did happen, it would either be because of a difficulty in giving birth or its spiritual source was damaged. Therefore, Rocky guessed correctly again.

"Miss Mary, he's correct.” Generally, as long as the candidate could answer two successive questions successfully, he would pass. All Harry could do was look imploringly at Mary.

When the others heard that Rocky's answer was right, they could only wonder why he was so lucky. He answered two consecutive questions and guessed the answers correctly both times.

When Mary didn't say anything, Harry took it that he had to continue with the test. Thus, he kept asking more questions.

What he didn't expect was for Rocky to answer every question correctly just by taking his family's sows as examples

All the judges could only stare in surprise too.

Everyone was buzzing at Rocky's answers. Though his answers for the four consecutive questions both annoyed and amused those who heard him, they were all undeniably correct. Normally, it was a sign of great luck if a candidate could even correctly answer two questions. So, they were left watching Rocky in awe.

"What troublesome pigs Rookie has! But they're also a great help to him." Even Juey, who was greatly worried about Rocky, couldn't help but laugh.

"Miss Mary, well..." Harry glanced at Mary once after Rocky successively answered four questions correctly and his performance greatly exceeded any other candidate.

Of course, Mary also felt puzzled as she didn't understand how Rocky could guess four questions right in a row, but she wouldn't let him pass so easily. She rose to her feet with a gentle expression but sharp eyes that pierced into Rocky's. A smile suddenly bloomed on her lips as she said, "I didn't expect you could answer four questions correctly. I'll give you another question then. If you can answer it, I'll let you be a disciple of our Xiao Clan; if not, you shall disappear immediately.”

Unlike Mary who was a little flushed from both anger and embarrassment, Rocky was still very calm. Even so, the interviewees around them whispered to each other, because, generally, as long as the candidate was good enough to answer two questions correctly in the second test, he would pass. Even though Rocky had answered four questions correctly, he still had to answer another question and if he couldn't get the answer, he would be eliminated. It was obviously unfair. They all felt that she was deliberately making things difficult for Rocky.

"Miss Mary, this isn't a good idea. Normally, candidates only have to answer three questions. If we give him five questions, people will inevitably talk..." Harry reminded her in a low voice, finally cluing in that something was wrong.

"He's from our Xiao Clan, so we should be more prudent. In this way, others won't gossip and think that we cover up for him,” Mary seriously responded.

Once he heard Mary's reasoning, Harry couldn't help but glance at Rocky. He thought that Rocky must have provoked Mary, otherwise she wouldn't be so difficult to deal with. However, Rocky seemed so talented and it would be a pity if he was kicked out.

Can you tell me the reason why this beast has this kind of ability?" Mary stared at Rocky as if she wanted nothing more than to kill him where he stood.
