Chapter 31: The Trip

LYRA'S POV

"What do you mean? Why are you sounding like that? you are scaring me?" I said as I got a bad feeling in my gut.

"I am scared too. If it is what I think they you are in very big trouble and your life is in danger. The fact that I don't know these people that are looking for you screams danger," Aria said and I glanced at Kyle. "What is going on? Why do I feel like there is something big going on and I am not aware?" Kyle asked looking at both of us with so many unsaid questions.

"Kyle, you need to leave now before someone senses you. We cannot fill you in now but we would soon," Aria responded quickly.

"No, that trash and you know it! This is your excuse to get me to leave so I wouldn't understand what is going on. I know you don't trust me but I am not trying to betray anyone. I am only trying to help. I am honestly tired of al of this, if you feel you don't trust me enough then maybe I shouldn't be training Lyra. I try my best all the time to prove myself. What more you do want?!" Kyle looked exasperated.

"Kyle please we will tell you soon but you need to leave now," Aria responded.

Kyle looked at me like he wanted to say something, like he was expecting me to say something, I looked away feeling guilty.

"Kyle, please leave," I said quietly.

He nodded and walked out and I suddenly felt empty.

I looked at Aria and she understood what I wanted to say so she responded before I could say anything.

"You know why we can't tell him anything. I can't even tell you everything. I get that you have feelings for him and you trust him but he can be our enemy as well. Ryker loved you mum and he still killed her," Aria said quietly. "No, I don't have feelings for him.. what? Ryker love my mum?" I asked suddenly feeling overwhelmed by this information.

"Yes, they were true mates. Ryker wasn't always like that. Yes. he had some bizzare principles but he was a sweet man. When he found out that your mother was his true mate he was elated. He loved her long before they got their wolves and he intended to marry her. Rogue pack was formally named Brighteron pack. They were known for their unique strength and their charming men. You mother was from this pack. Her father was the beta.

He made a pact with the Alpha of Moonlit pack and when it was time to fulfill the pack, he had to do so. Your mother got married to your father through an arranged marriage and this was supposed to make the two largest packs allies which was happening until Ryker became alpha. He felt hurt and betrayed. Your mother fell in love with your father and he never got over it so he decided to take revenge and became power hungry.

That was the main reason he started doing underground deals and killed your pack members brutally. I think he never loved Kyle or his mother from the start and them being hybrids just gave him a reason to show it," Aria finished.

I had to seat down from the information I was just given, now I understand what he meant when he killed me.

"How long have you known this information?" I asked.

"For a while now," Aria answered guiltily.

"Okay," I said quietly and lay down on the bed.

"Look Lyra, I'm sorry. I was only trying to protect you. I didn't.."

"No, do not give me that bullshit. I do not want to hear it. I know you are trying to protect me but I do not feel like it. You could have told me. I don't understand why you are trying to hide things I will find out later. It literally makes no sense!" I let out my frustration.

"I know, I should have told you. I am sorry," Aria apologized.

"Okay, I need some time to process what you just told me," I said.

"Okay, I will come back later. I am sorry," She apologized again. KYLE'S POV

"You are a monster. You are no son of mine!" He spat on my face as they dragged me towards the dark room.

"No, No! father! I am sorry! I will not do it again!" I cried as they dragged me.

"Shut him up. I can't stand hearing my voice," He commanded and they started whipping me.

"Ahh!" I screamed from excruciating pain.

"Oh, the heavens! That was a dream," I said as I jumped off my bed.

Why am I reliving this. I haven't had a dream like this in a while, I thought.

"Kyle, so you will disobey my commands for that little wolf girl I could easily crush," My father sneered.

"One, I am not disobeying your commands and two, you couldn't crush her if you tried," I said then suddenly realized what I have done. I have made him interested by suggesting that she is strong. "Oh really?" He smiled.

"I meant that I will not let you," I said trying to cover up the fact that I insinuated Lyra is strong.

"You really think you are that strong huh?" My father said with a smug face.

"I don't think. I know I am strong," I replied him and the grin on his face was replaced with a frown leaving me with a strong sense of satisfaction.

"Hi, are we training today?" I texted Lyra.

"No, don't try to contact her again," the texter replied.

"Aria, I know what happened was very dangerous but it will not happen again. I promise,"

"Hahaha, so naïve, who is Aria? I knew she was with someone yesterday anyway our mission was successful and we have gotten her already," My heart suddenly started racing as I read the last text again.
