REBORN UNDER THE FULL MOON -
Chapter 34: Bound In The Cave
"I just talked to the priest and he said that we can do the ritual in two weeks, that the moon will be neutral and that is the perfect time for the ritual" The pale skinned specie said to their King. "Okay then, start making preparations for the ritual," the king said to the man.
LYRA'S POV
"Ughh," I groaned as I felt pain rushed through my body.
I tried to raise my hand to touch my head but it was tied to the bed post. I looked around to see I am in some kind of lab with some type of mineral infused to my body.
I wonder how long I have been out for.
"I injected the minerals into her to keep her alive, she has been unconscious for the past week and if we need her blood, we need her alive," I heard someone speak as their footsteps approached.
"Do you really think what the king said makes sense? He wants use to use her blood for a ritual to give us strength and he wants us to do it again when the full moon is out, is that not us asking for a death sentence? Anyways we have to obliged as he is our leader,"
"Can you smell that?" the doctor asked as he walked in, I quickly closed my eyes to pretend like I was still asleep.
"No, you know I always lose my senses in the lab," his companion said.
"Yes, that's true but she smells alive, she is awake," the doctor said.
"Are you sure? She still looks asleep,"
I heard footsteps approach me as a cold slippery hand touched my skin causing me to shudder and open my eyes.
"Hahaha, I told you she was pretending to be asleep," the doctor laughed.
They are truly ugly creatures. I thought as I looked at the excitement in his face.
"Should I inform the King?" his companion asked.
"No, I need to run some test on her first then you can inform his majesty," The doctor responded as he took out a syringe and drew out my blood while I barred my teeth.
"Do you really think you can get my powers from my blood?" I questioned my voice being very hoarse because it's been a while since I had slept.
The doctor looked at me but didn't say anything.
That's really smart, he knows I am trying to rile him up and he is falling for it, I thought as I looked at him and his assistant, then I smiled.
"You all are really stupid if you believe what your king has told you because there is no way that my powers can be shared and I just wanted you to know how dumb you look with your extremely pale skin. Don't you go outside for a little tan? Oh that's right you are creatures from hell," I laughed.
"What do you mean?! Do you know how accomplished we are. You are the one who is stupid because you don't know that your power can be transferred not shared. We are not trying to share your powers with you dummy and we have an ancient book of spells that will lead us to do the ritual. We are not creatures from hell we are the leaders of the underworld and we were once leaders of earth. Every other species literally worshipped us and we were banished because of your useless species and some other species but that doesn't matter. Poaters will forever rule! Are skins are pale because....."
"Shut up, you are spilling things," the doctor said sternly but I already got the information I needed.
They were Poaters, I was thought about them in Moonlit pack. They are power hungry species but if what they say is true then I am in trouble like Aria said because all other evil and power-hungry species will be looking for me and looking for cracks in the Poaters lifestyle so they can get to me. This only means one thing we are still on earth because the poaters are trying to keep it safe and Aria can still get to me on time. But once the poaters get my powers, they will take me to the underworld and Aria might not be able to go there. I realized and my blood ran cold.
KYLE'S POV
"Finally!" Aria shouted.
I quickly rose up and ran to meet her.
"Have you finally done it? Can you trace their blood now?" I asked expectantly.
"Yes, I can trace their blood now. Take us to where the owner of this blood is." Aria said and the basil and rose leaves started twirling and created an arrow point towards the east. "Okay let's go now," I said quickly as we moved in the direction.
"It is leading us through the woods, are you sure it is safe?" I asked Aria.
"It is. Calm down mister, just follow the directions," Aria responded.
"Okay ma'am," I said as I raised my hands above my head.
"What do we do now? How do we cross this huge body of water?" I looked at Aria.
“I don't know but I think they are hiding out in that cave. I can sense a huge amount of magic and I think they used the magic to make the water flow so fast.” Aria said.
"What can we do? We need to cross this river to get to Lyra?" I asked her feeling very helpless.
"Stop looking like that. have you forgotten I'm a witch?" Aria laughed then said some spells and we started floating.
As soon as we got to the cave, it parted and we realized it was an illusion. It was put there to keep people away and anyone who tried to cross would be shrunk to death but Aria was a witch and we by passed the effects of the illusion. When were instantly met with pale heads staring at us.
"Run," Aria whispered and disappeared
