Chapter 109

I waited until his soft snores tickled my ear , then I slowly extracted myself from him. I didn’t see this as goodbye forever. Just for now. I would go , find a way to stop my parents and then come back to him. And hope and pray that he will forgive me. I was doing this for him, for his family. I have heard that if a mate leaves a wolf it can be painful for them. Like really painful, but I hope with the support of his family he will be OK , until I return hopefully.

Slowly getting off of the bed , I grab my clothes off of the bedroom floor. My heart was shattering. I loved him, I loved him with everything I had already. Going to the door , I looked back at his sleeping form , and I felt tears slip from my eyes. He would hate me for this, I know it. Taking a stuttering breath , I, as quietly as I could, opened the door and softly stepped out of the bedroom. Then I got dressed in the living room. The paining on the wall caught my attention again , and I smiled softly. Hopefully one day , that will be us. He would see the real me and we would be care free , like the painting. If he thought wolves had high s*x drives , he had yet to meet me properly. I would be happy not to leave his bed for days.

Taking a deep breath, I left his little cabin , and headed for the borders. I could have just zapped myself out of here , but I didn’t want to risk using my magic here again. I would get away from here and then use it , take them away from coming here and send them back on a goose chase. And set up traps to see if they are actually still following me. I mean it has been many years. For all I knew, they could be dead. I wanted to go back home somehow and see if they were still even alive. My hopes were they weren’t. Strange for a kid to say that about her parents , but it would be better all around if mine were gone.

I knew they were still doing night patrols , so I had to be careful. Once I hit the woods , I made sure I kept my eyes sharp. The last thing I needed was someone to catch me and alert Devon. My heart broke the more distance I put between us. I could already imagine his face in the morning when he noticed me gone. ” Forgive me “, I whispered into the darkness.

I was nearing the border , thinking I had done it. When, out of nowhere, two wolves jumped in my path, making me screech. I stumbled back and fell on my butt as my heart raced in my chest. The two wolves shifted back into their human forms, standing there butt naked. They both crossed their arms over their chests and looked down at me. ” Where are you going ? ” one of them asked. I had seen him around but I didn’t know his name. Same as the other one. ” Just on a walk , I couldn’t sleep ” I said, trying to lie as I stood myself up. The other raised an eyebrow ” This far out , near the border ? ” he asked.

I tried to fake anger , crossing my arms over my chest. I narrowed my eyes at them. ” Is that a crime or something ? ” I snapped with an attitude. ” No ma’am , but I do not think your mate would like it “, the first one said. I laughed ” My mate knows I am on a walk , he trusts me to be out here. Do you think I would leave without letting him know? Of course he knows” I said defensively, scoffing . ” Do I ? ” came the voice I knew well now. It sounded pissed off , angry. The two wolves infront of me both smirked smugly. ” Thank you for watching the cabin Dex , Kyle I had a feeling my mate would try to run from me. You can go home to bed now ” he said sternly. Both wolves bowed their heads and said in unison ” Anytime Beta Devon “, then they both looked at me with humor on their faces. ” Have a good night Ma’am. ” They were laughing because they knew I was in s**t , and they could knock the ma’am bullshit off, I wasn’t older.

Both wolves shifted back and ran off. Meanwhile, I stood frozen to my spot. Unable to make myself look at him. The silence stretched on , both of us in a stand-off. Mine was out of guilt though , his was because I was about to run from him. I could just magic myself out of here still. He couldn’t stop that. I lowered my hands to my sides and faced my palms facing up. Breathing deeply , ready to do it. When his hands snaked around me, one went to my throat. ” Don’t f*****g think about it ” he snarled in my ear. ” Do you not think I would not follow , that the girls would not help me follow you ” he seethed in my ear.

” It is to protect you all , please Devon. I will come back , I will find a way to get rid of them and then come back “, I pleaded. My eyes started to pool as tears gathered in my eyes, threatening to spill. ” No ” was all he said simply. No arguments , to him it was that simple. ” Devon ” I tried , but he growled. ” No Violet “, he span me around and walked me backwards until my back hit a nearby tree. His hand came up and he pinched my chin between his fingers. So I had no choice but to look him in the eyes.

” If you leave , your leaving because you don’t trust me to protect you ” he snaps. I narrowed my eyes. ” And what about me protecting you? That is what I am trying to do “. I hit back , trying to make him understand. ” We are meant to do this together Violet , we are mates. I protect you , you protect me. Together. You can not go off and do this alone , leaving me here to go out of my f*****g mind. Do you not understand wolves , he will flip the f**k out. Go off the rails vigalanti style and I won’t hold him back from doing that , couldn’t even if I wanted to. There is only one way you go do this alone ” he said , and I feared what he was about to say.

” How ? “I asked him , with a tremor in my voice. ” You reject us , then you leave and you never show your face here again. ” His eyes flashed , his wolf angry at the idea too. ” That is not what I want Devon ” I let out a sob as the tears now fell , losing the battle to keep them at bay. ” I just don’t want anyone hurt for me ” I tell him. ” You would hurt us by leaving , your brother funeral is tomorrow. You would leave and not witness that ? “That hurt. He was laying it on thick , but it was nothing I didn’t deserve.

Of course, that had crossed my mind , but Rion would understand. He knew our parents. He knew the poison they spread wherever they went. ” They will hate me for bringing this here ” I told him, looking down. ” They already know , Anthea and Enzo. While you were pretending to sleep, I was mind linking to Enzo. He says we will gather to discuss how to end them after the funerals. Anthea is also pissed at you. She told you we would help , you used your magic for us. We will not abandon you now. Enzo had to stop her coming out here to tell you off “. I looked up at him and some of his anger had lessened , but not all of it.

He stepped back and let me go. ” So , choose Violet. Go without rejecting me. I will follow, we all will . Or reject me and go. The last choice is you stay here and we will do this together with our family. ” My breath hitched at the hurt that crossed his face. One of those options I would never do, the other one they would come regardless. So , my only option was to stay. It wasn’t like I was given much of a choice here.

” I’ll stay ” I said, defeated. He closed the distance between us in a heartbeat. His hand was back at my throat as his mouth bruised my ear. ” I wouldn’t even let you go peacefully if you rejected me Violet , you are mine ” he said before his lips crushed down on mine. His k**s was a k**s that showed he was not kidding , it showed he meant every word he said. His free hand shoved down my trousers and pants and started rubbing between my folds. I pulled my lips off of his and threw my head back on a m**n. ” You are mine Violet , f*****g mine. No betrothal or anything f*****g else will take you away from me ” he hissed as his lips attached to my neck and started sucking up hickies. He plunged one finger inside of me and then another. He f****d me roughly with them before he snatched them out. I cried out at the loss of him.

But he had other plans. He span me around and pushed my front up against the tree , cold air hit my bum as he yanked my trousers down. I heard the sound of his zipper , he hadn’t shifted into his wolf to come here , he must have ran because he wasn’t naked on the bottom half. He had no top on or shoes but he did have jeans on. Most likely he didn’t shift to hold his wolf back. His wolf wouldn’t hurt me but. I was his mate running from him. His wolf’s way of stopping me may have been a bit more cave man.

I cried out at the ruff intrusion of his thick d**k , stretching me wide. My finger nails are clawing at the bark on the tree. Then his mouth was back next to my ear , as he pulled out and thrust his way back in. ” Do you like that baby ? ” he teased in my ear. I nodded against the tree , but he wasn’t happy with that. ” Say it ” he demanded. ” I like that ” I m****d out , he laughed and pulled back, then he let loose. He f****d me against that tree holding nothing back. The man was a f*****g god , in the way he commanded my body. He gripped my h**s and forced me back to meet each delicious thrust. ” Your f*****g mine Violet ” he grunted out, and I realised this wasn’t just about me leaving. The thought of me being betrothed to another would send him crazy too.

“Yours” , I confirmed for him, because I would rather die now than be with anyone else. When I came I heard him grunt something that broke my heart and fixed it all at the same time. ” I love you “. Those words echoed, how could I ever leave this man? We started off ugly, and now we had ugly chasing us. I just hoped one day we could flourish.
