The others all went back to the pack. As soon as we moved out of Usif’s sight, he could talk to us rationally. So they went to go get the previous Alpha and Luna. They would bring them to us tonight , but they would be blindfolded. It was literally as soon as they put their visuals on us they would start. Enzo was furious. I can only imagine how he was feeling , and Alpha practically without his pack. His own family would want to attack him. Devon was furious because it was as if people were always out maneuvering us. But how could we plan against something we had no idea was happening in the first place ? And I was left feeling a little defeated. I thought the demise of my parents would mean I was free. I mean, truly we didn’t know their intentions. We were just guessing that they would still pursue me. But why else was the spell still up?

The panthers made us some food , then most got to work on building. While a few of them stuck around to guard us. Just incase. I sat quietly trying to think back as much as I could about Wallace’s parents. Harry and Tanya had always remained indifferent. Like everyone and everything bores them. I had never really understood their alliance with my parents , because most of the time they’d act like they despised them. In all honesty, their only interest in our coven was me. Me and Wallace being together. Was that all it ever was ? Had they just agreed to anything my parents requested or atleast went along with it to get to me ?

Devon came and sat behind me , his legs going either side of mine and his hands wrapped around my stomach. Pulling me back into him , his chin went on my shoulder , his nose in my hair and when he inhaled, he sighed. ” My mate, a penny for your thoughts ” he whispered , sending shivers down my spine. I momentarily closed my eyes and inwardly m****d. Devon being so close would always cause a reaction in me. ” I am just trying to remember everything I can about his parents. “

He hummed , his nose rubbed against my ear and I almost m****d out loud that time. ” Stop it “, I whined, and he let out a little laugh in my ear. He knew the effect he had on me. He moved his nose and went back to just resting his chin on my shoulder. ” Have you thought of anything ? “he asks me. ” Not much , they were never really chatty , they acted like they hated my parents. I had always been a little confused as to why they agreed to anything with my mum and dad. The only thing I remember is their interest in me , and the fact me and Wallace were born with this extra strength . And apparently a seer once said ” I paused and bolted up.

Devon fell forward, his head hitting my back at my quick movement. s**t . s**t , that was what this was. ” Violet ? ” Devon questioned. Enzo and Anthea were looking at us now from their quiet conversation they had been having. ” A seer told them years before we were born that they would have a son , and their son was destined to a girl who was born with the same strength as he was. That if the boy and girl born with strength created a child together, the dark witches would no longer need the land to draw power from. The child would be all the dark witches needed to become like other witches. Self-sufficient, more powerful. I mean look at Anthea , Shira , Willow. They do not need the earth. Not like they do , they are low level magic users that have to find sources of power to make them stronger. Deaths, tragedies , dark energies like I said before. Well, apparently a child born by the two could make it so, their coven could use the child as a resource. And it wouldn’t even touch the child’s strength to do so. The child would become the king of all dark witches and a new era of witches would begin. Literally propelling the dark witches up the ladder of magic users. They want me so I can have a child with him. That is why they have stayed involved with my parents , that would be why they left when they thought I was dead. “

Anthea sat forward. ” So all of this , his obsession is because they think you are this woman who a seer told them about years before you were born ? ” I nodded and she literally rolled her eyes. ” Sianna says seers are known for making stuff up to get a pay day. Especially back then. They had numerous reports at the council of paranormal doing and believing some crazy stuff because seers told them to. They are no good trouble causers that enjoy doing so. If they couldn’t get a good reading, they would make one up, so they still got paid “, she explained.

” But how would they guess they would have a son , and me a female born close together that had more strength than both covens had seen in years ? ” She was quiet for a moment and I knew she would be listening to Sianna. ” She says the logistics could be true , that they would have a son and a female would be born. It could be any female and any story that is the truth after that. I mean, if that was your destiny , why would they send you a mate ? If that was your future ? You can see some future. Have you ever seen yourself with him ? ” she asks me.

” Mine doesn’t work that way. I see bits of flashing images of other peoples’ lives. My mother’s vision was better than mine. Mine doesn’t make sense. They don’t happen often. I have never been able to control them “, I told her. She shrugs and sits back. ” All I am saying is that it could not all be true what they have been told. Your mated anyway, so it’s a no go. “

” Too f*****g right “, Devon growled behind me. Later that night, the previous Luna and Alpha were led onto the panthers’ lands with blindfolds by Peter and Samuel. ” Son, what the hell is happening ? ” The previous alpha said , clearly frustrated. ” Dad I am sure they have filled you in ” Enzo replied. ” They have, but what are we going to do about this ? “

Enzo rubbed the back of his head. He looked tired. I am not surprised , I think we are all feeling that way out now. ” Dad, you need to take back caring for the pack until this is sorted, I cant even step foot in there to do it. I also need you to do me a favor , or should I say pull a favor with the council. We need to track down a coven of dark witches. The coven leaders name Harry and Tanya. They have a son named Wallace. They are the ones that had placed this deception spell, the warlock women are looking for ways to break it. But it’s the same story. Another witch’s spell is hard to break, unless they can find the exact spell used.”

You need to rest, carrying two wolf pups will be exhausting “, his mum says worriedly. Anthea steps forward and takes a chance at grabbing the previous luna’s hand. She hadn’t turned into a rabid beast by the touch, so Anthea raised Luna’s hand to her cheek. ” I’m doing OK , please don’t worry about me ” she said to her , the previous Luna dragged her into a hug.

” I will have them fetch lots of provisions here for you all. I’ll cook you some meals and blankets ” she rushed out. It hurt my heart to see such a loving moment. I was envious of it. But when they pulled away , the previous Luna called my name. Holding her arms out. I looked at Devon confused and he nudged me forward. Shakily, I stepped into her embrace and she pulled me in tightly. ” I am so sorry my dear, this can not be easy for you. Stay strong and know you are loved “, she whispered in my ear. I felt a sting of tears hit my eyes and found myself hugging her tighter. She didn’t complain, she just hugged me back tighter. When I went to pull away she dropped a k**s on my cheek.

” Are you going to stay here ? ” The previous alpha asked and Enzo agreed we would until it was sorted. ” Keep all the wolves away from this side of the pack border, the last thing we need is one of them accidently clocking one of us and come charging at us to attack ” Enzo told his dad. After that, they left with the promise of sending supplies and getting in touch with the council. My fear was it wouldn’t be that long away before Wallace would come for me. He was never patient , not as a child, and I can not see him being much more patient as a man either. Penny came back with Ryken , she wanted to stay close to us. She brought with her what the previous Luna had promised. Enough food to feed an army. We happily shared it with the panthers. They set us up with camping beds in the half-done building we hid in earlier. It was nice sleeping under the stars. But sleep was hard to get. My mind kept reeling. Thinking about everything. Every noise made me jump ,every footstep even if it was just ones of the panthers tasked to keep watch over us while we got some rest.
