” Hold your tongue Tiffany ?” stepping forward, I growled down at her. She cuts her eyes on me and off of Anthea from where she had been smirking evilly at her. ” Why are we not allowed freedom of speech now ? You tell us all how to think and feel regarding this matter or we are to leave and we are not welcome in the place that has been our home and our ancestors’ home for generations. Now we can not speak ? Is that fair ? Are we to walk around with our heads down next and not look at anything either? ” A few murmurs started around the crowd , people agreeing with her. ” This is nothing to do with any of that and you know it Tiffany , do not do something you can not undo. You were warned “, I told her.

But her lips curled up in a snarl. She looked at all of us who stood on the raised porch that acted as a stage for alpha announcements. Then she turned and faced the pack. ” I have evidence that our future alpha Enzo has been denying his own mate. They stand there lecturing us about acceptance yet they are not doing it. His mate is the very person they are telling us to accept , because apparently she’s special ” rounds of gasps went off around the pack members. Looking at Anthea , she looked white as a ghost.

” He has known she was his mate from the minute she first shifted a couple of months ago. I have evidence of her admitting he tried to reject her. She wasn’t good enough to be his mate , so he kept her as his dirty little secret. He would f**k her almost every night, then look for a bonded mate during the day. Now she parades around with a new man on her arm , lots of people here saw this new guy k**s her in the middle of the village. So what’s happening , is our own alpha so against mating with her that he’s cool with another sweeping in and taking her. Or is she that much of a slut and mind manipulator? She has you OK with the fact she’s putting it about. I mean it would make sense , after years and years of not just us but the whole alpha family ignoring her existence so she doesn’t infect the pack. Now all of a sudden she has you all wrapped around her little finger , they just said she has magic. Maybe she has brain washed them , maybe she isn’t even his mate. I see no mating mark ? Maybe this guy, who is apparently from the council, is her actual mate and they plan to take down the pack ?” I was off of the porch and down the steps in a flash.

My hand was on her throat and dangling her in the air. Her father rushed at my back. I felt him coming and braced myself for it. But it didn’t happen. Looking behind me , I saw Rion holding him up the same as I had his daughter. He rushed to help me ? Why ? ” Son , you both need to explain all of this to the pack. You killing her and him killing him won’t help the case we are trying to present ” my father’s voice came from my side. I looked to see he was coming down the steps. He came close and dropped his voice. ” Son , this will only cause a rebellion. You killing her will make it look like everything she has just said is the truth “. He put his hand on my arm , and gave me a look that said calm down son.

Looking back at her , the purple shade of her face made me feel a satisfaction I couldn’t describe. But my father was right , so I dropped her body on the floor. Turning, I looked at Rion, who still had my dad’s beta by the throat. ” Drop him Rion “. He seemed hesitant, but did it. ” Guards hold these two back so they don’t attempt anything. ” Four guards came forward and picked up their bodies, taking them off to the side. ” Speak from the heart son ” my father said quietly before walking back up and standing at the side of my mother.

Looking at Rion , I nodded my gratitude to him. Although I was still confused as to why he would have my back. Looking up at Anthea, she looked heart broken. My sister was at her side hugging her. How did I begin the f**k up that this situation was, without outing who Rion actually is ?

” Anthea is my fated mate “, I started by admitting the truth. ” I have known since her first shift , and I refused her , tried to reject her. Because of the same ignorance you all have. The mate bond made it hard for me to stay away from her though. Me rejecting her didn’t work like all the stories said it should. Why I still do not know , so my logic was accepting a bonded mate would sever the link. But still I couldn’t keep away and Anthea was so understanding , she just accepted she was not good enough for me with no problems and no fighting. Because she belies her worth is so low, because that is what we have all made her believe over the years. She said she would keep quiet , not tell anyone and not fight me, breaking our bond. All she wanted was a week of feeling normal , a week of experiencing the mate bond. One she would never feel again once I broke the bond. Because she even believed that no one would ever want to bond with her in the future”, I rubbed my chin and looked down, trying to calm the anger I felt.

” I was a f*****g i***t, in that week I fell for her. She is stronger than anyone I know. I thought I needed a strong Luna by my side or I would be challenged for my position. Ran out of a pack and became a laughing stock. But she’s strong , shes kind and considerate and f*****g beautiful. She has the most amazing personality and soul , it runs deep , there is no bad in her anywhere. I should have taken my opportunity to seal the bond between us, and for that I will be forever an i***t. Because her wolf Sianna , well, she was mated, to Rion , fated mates. We found that out when he came to tell us of her and he knows so much about her because they were fated mates. So now the choice between us is hers. Will she mate for the human counterpart or the wolf counterpart of herself ? I respect her decision , whichever one she makes. I owe her that much since I rejected her to begin with and the fact I love her . She has not cast any spells on us , she does not have her magic yet. Her wolf spirit was sent back early because she is needed. The fates say she is needed. So I can only presume but if the fates sent her back this early, then it is because her magic and powers are needed against a danger coming. I don’t care about being challenged , I will fight anyone that comes after her , or speaks ill of her. I will leave this pack behind and follow her anywhere , I love my pack and my people , but my priority is my mate until she orders me away. This pack is at a fork in the road , we either follow the path that makes us stronger or the path that leads to our own destruction. Or there is a third path for you all , and that is the path out of here , not by our order , by your own free will. You will soon realize we are most likely one of the only packs left to be stuck in the stone ages . I have been to other packs and seen the diversity for myself and walked of laughing thinking they were weak. Evolved does not mean weak. “

Turning back and looking back at Anthea. I smiled sadly at her. I shouldn’t have told her I loved her this way. Or done it at all when she has such a decision to make. ” I am sorry Anthea , for all that this pack and myself have put you through “. I realised I had never really said that. Looking at the two in the guards’ clutches , I see the hatred. They will never learn to accept her. ” As for you and your family , it is clear where you stand. But I am not the alpha yet. If I was, my decision would be to have your cold, lifeless bodies hitting the ground. I see what you just did as a challenge of power. If that is what you wish, then declare it now and I would be more than happy to comply. “

Tiffany opened her mouth, her face no less evil. I smiled, ready to accept the challenge that I knew was about to fall out of her mouth. But her father snapped her name. ” Tiifany ” she broke her glare at me to look at him. He shook his head with an annoyed look on his face. ” But . . . ” he went to argue but he cut her off. ” I said NO TIFFANY ” he roared at her and she flinched. I think that would probably be the first time she has ever heard someone say no to her in her life, well besides me.

“OK , we have announced a lot tonight. I ask you all to think about what you have heard before making any decisions. My son and a few others are leaving the pack for a few days to research more of what all of this means. If anyone has any questions, then please don’t hesitate to come speak with me. You can all go home ” he looked at the guards. ” Those two in the cells. I will be there to talk with them later. ” He puts his hand on my mother’s back and goes into the house , us all following.

When the doors closed and we all headed into the living room, I went to my father. ” Dad, do you think announcing we are leaving was a good idea? What if someone decided to challenge you while we are gone? That didn’t land well with a few out there. It could happen. ” He grins at me and slaps a hand on my shoulder ” I may be knocking on son , but if they do then bring it. I can still kick the asses of all of them out there. The only one who could beat me is you. My guards are loyal if an ambush happens. We will be fine. Go study up then hurry home so we can devise a plan for these warlocks. You all being out of the way for a few days will also give me time to find out how the pack feels about all of this. It will be fine son , you said it. Your mate is your priority , so go and make sure she is your mate when all this ends. Bit of advise. Try telling her you love her. Yes , play dirty son. Because there is no greater gift than your mate.
